Disco stars Kc & The Sunshine Band are due to set sail with soul legend Gladys Knight as part of a big Caribbean concert cruise next year (15). The artists will be joined by the likes of Frankie Beverly, James Ingram, The Spinners and Ashford & Simpson's Valerie Simpson for The Soul Train Cruise, which will feature more than 30 concerts during the seven-day trip.
Fans will board the luxury Holland America Eurodam liner in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 22 February (15) and travel through the Caribbean, with stops in Turks and Caicos, San Juan in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and the Bahamas, before heading back to the U.S. on 1 March (15).
Singer Harry Wayne 'KC' Casey says, "Many times during the '70s we appeared on (popular variety show) Soul Train with Don Cornelius. I only wish he could still be here to share this magic moment we are going to have on the Soul Train Cruise.
"I'm looking forward to bringing our music alive once again, as we did so many times on the TV show."
They are the latest artists to unveil plans to hit the high seas this year (14) - Megadeth and Anthrax are teaming up with Motorhead for a heavy rock cruise in September (14), while Joan Osbourne, Emmylou Harris and Heart have joined forces for the Grammy Festival at Sea: Women Who Rock event in November (14).
Jennifer Lopez's ex-boyfriend is considering legal action against the transgender model who may have ended his romance with the pop superstar over an alleged sex tryst.
Dancer-turned-actor Casper Smart has broken his silence after a second transgender beauty went public about a reported relationship with him. Xhristina Marie told Britain's The Sun newspaper she romanced J.Lo's ex before the couple split, but Smart insists there is "no truth" to her story, which comes less than a week after another transgender model claimed the dancer had pestered her for sexy photos after making a connection online.
In a statement issued to Access Hollywood on Sunday (08Jun14), Smart says, "There is no truth to any meeting or physical encounter. I am weighing my options on the appropriate action to take against Xhristina Marie and/or The Sun." Lopez and Smart's split was confirmed on Friday (06Jun14), as transsexual bikini model Sofie Vissa told In Touch magazine she exchanged racy photos via text and social media with the dancer. Smart has denied her story too.
A source tells Access Hollywood, "Casper does not know this person, has never met this person, has never seen this person and most importantly never has communicated with this person via direct message or in any other manner."
Jennifer Lopez's dancer boyfriend has responded to reports suggesting he has been flirting with a transgender model behind the pop superstar's back, insisting the story is "nasty". Casper Smart was noticeably absent from J.Lo's homecoming show in The Bronx, New York on Wednesday night (04Jun14) - but he insists that has nothing to do with the controversy.
Smart, who has been dating Lopez since her marriage to Marc Anthony fell apart, is in South America promoting a new film, and from there he has issued a post on his Instagram.com page, writing, "(It's) sad what the media does to people... Along with this nasty story. Thanks. Could you imagine if people came at you, your wife, your kids daily."
His comments come as transsexual model Sofie Vissa breaks her silence about the alleged flirty messages she received from Smart, who reportedly begged her to share nude photos with him. Vissa tells In Touch magazine, "I'd put the hashtags #TS, #Shemale and #transgendered on one of my photos, and when I went back to look at my phone, I’d gotten a request to follow me from Casper. As soon as I approved him, he started 'liking' a lot of my pictures. He liked at least 20 to 30 pictures."
John Malkovich paid tribute to his late pal and co-star Raul Julia at a fashion show in Puerto Rico on Saturday (09Nov13) by inviting the actor's sons to walk the runway. The Dangerous Liaisons star decided to recruit Julia's boys Raul and Benjamin to model his Technobohemian collection at the Museum of Art in San Juan in memory of their beloved father as he presented his clothing line in Latin America for the first time.
He told reporters, "It was moving for everyone when he died. Raul was a great talent and inspiration who has left a beautiful testament in his sons."
Malkovich struck up a close bond with The Addams Family star as they performed together in a 1985 stage production of The Arms and the Man in New York.
Julia died in 1994, aged 54, after suffering complications from a stroke.
Justin Bieber was singled out for a search by airport security staff as he prepared to fly out of Puerto Rico over the weekend (19-20Oct13). The Boyfriend hitmaker was in the country for a gig in San Juan and he was waiting to board his private jet when officials took him to one side and went through his bags, according to TMZ.com.
Security officers reportedly told the star he was the subject of a random stop, and after the search was completed - delaying Bieber for more than an hour - he was allowed to continue his journey.
The singer's Believe concert tour continues on Tuesday (22Oct13) in the Dominican Republic.
Britney fans, unite — our leader is back. Britney Spears has been making quite the noise these past couple of days and it's starting to sound like she's ready to claw her way back to the top of musical and celebrity fame. Her new single, "Work Bitch," leaked online this weekend, a couple days ahead of its planned release date and, frankly, it's everything we wanted it to be and more.
And that's not all the Britney news — TMZ has reported that Spears is rumored to take Las Vegas by storm for a two-year stint at Planet Hollywood that is set to earn her $30 million. (Does anyone else think that this is actually kind of low and that she deserves way more?)
Spears has had approximately a gazillion comebacks since her peak of popgirl fame, but that's okay with us. Spears isn't just a singer who's come and gone and is now pathetically trying to get noticed again; she's a pop icon who deserves every shred of attention she receives. She's Britney, bitch. She might not have made as many waves as she would have liked with her 2011 album Femme Fatale, but this time Spears is ready for a full-on war to recapture the hearts of America. And you know what? I think she's ready to win this time.
Not only was her new single "accidentally" leaked (let's be real, everyone needs a little bit of scandal to get noticed) and her epic Vegas residency unofficially announced within days of each other, but she's taken to Instragram to reveal her smokin' bod for her new music video. With moves like these, she's letting us know that she's still here and that she's ready to pounce on the pop queen crown that is rightfully hers. Britney, we're ready for all you can throw our way.

Puerto Rican singer Elvis Crespo has been hospitalised for alcohol-related issues after he was involved in a drunken altercation with a bar manager in San Juan. The Grammy winner allegedly ordered a beer at the Made in Puerto Rico restaurant in the early hours of the morning on 9 July (13), but refused to pay for the drink and tried to kiss the manager, Alexander de Jesus, and his wife.
Police officers were called to the scene after the incident exploded into an argument, but de Jesus declined to press charges and Crespo was later placed under observation at a medical centre in Guayabo.
The 41 year old is now planning to check into rehab to treat his addiction problems, and a statement from the star reads, "What happened early last Tuesday was totally regrettable and shameful. I was wrong and I ask forgiveness of my family and fans. I admit I have a problem with alcohol and that I have to work on it.
"I'm now privately looking for a rehabilitation facility so I can keep going. I'd love to give it all a rewind, but these things happen... God has a plan in this, though, and I will do whatever it takes to keep going. Life is full of things like this."
Singer Ricky Martin has urged government officials in his native Puerto Rico to step up their support for gay rights and pass new legislation to protect same-sex couples. The gay Livin' La Vida Loca hitmaker, who hails from San Juan, is calling on Governor Alejandro Garcia and politicians in the Senate and House of Representatives to approve three proposed bills, which would prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation in the workplace, grant gay people the right to adopt children, and amend domestic violence laws to include provisions for same-sex couples.
The initiatives are expected to be discussed in the coming weeks and Martin hopes legislators in the U.S. territory will take a stand for the growing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
A statement from the 41 year old reads, "The same rights for each and every citizen of Puerto Rico, that's what we are asking (for) and that's what we hope to achieve, the country's justice and peace that we want to achieve. Puerto Rico has to join all the countries in the world that are at the forefront of the issue of human rights and equality."
A representative for reggae duo Wisin & Yandel has denied speculation the act is set to quit. The Puerto Rican pair is currently working on its tenth album, but after it was reported stars Juan Luis Morera Luna and Llandel Veguilla Malave were recording the tracks in different countries, gossips suggested a split announcement was imminent.
However, the duo's manager, Edgar Andino, insists there is no meaning behind the separate studio sessions.
He tells Billboard.com, "Wisin has been recording in Puerto Rico and Yandel in Orlando, and because they're recording separately people are speculating. But the bottom line is, they haven't had the possibility to record solo."
Fans of The Daily Show all knew this day was coming, but that still didn't make it any easier. On Thursday night Wyatt Cenac stepped down from his post as one of the best f**king correspondents from the Emmy-winning fake news show. After five years with the series, Cenac (who is also a stand-up comedian and an up-and-coming indie actor) is moving on to different things. Hopefully, things with puppets.
Thankfully the wry 36-year-old tried his hand (get it?) at puppetry one last time. During a surreal and utterly hilarious final segment, Cenac traveled to San Juan to investigate Puerto Rico's most popular news network Super Xclusivo whose hard-hitting journalist is....a gaudy lady puppet. Seriously. Cenac can't believe his eyes (neither can I actually) until he himself transforms into a hard-hitting journalist puppet, too. (Sadly, no final interview with puppet Michael Steele here.)
Check out Cenac's wonderful send-off below, including host Jon Stewart's spot-on praise that he's "an unbelievably talented man and really fun to watch" and maybe ease the pain of his departure with some Puerto Rican rum.
