Recent reports suggested the blonde beauty has her hooks into another star partner, with names including singer Sheeran and actor/rocker Leto at the top of the list, but she has now spoken out to clear up the speculation and insist she is not in a new romance.
Swift tells British magazine Event, "I am single. To be honest, being single is one of the best things about my life right now. And whatever people think, I actually love it. Life is so much more fun and it's great not to have to worry about calling someone every night, just doing what you want to do. Hanging out with your friends."
Taylor Swift had a surprise guest at her concert in London on Saturday night (01Feb14) when a man jumped up on stage and tried to hand the star a note. The Love Story hitmaker was performing the first of five shows at the O2 Arena in the U.K. capital and was midway through her routine for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together when a male fan broke his way through security and gained access to the stage.
He ran up a flight of stairs grasping a piece of paper and tried to hand it to Swift, before two bouncers raced onstage and grabbed him.
The man was escorted out of the building while the singer carried on performing without a hitch.
Swift did have one invited guest alongside her later on in the show - she sang a duet of Lego House with British singer Ed Sheeran.
After the gig, the superstar made no mention of the invader, simply tweeting: "First night in London and edsheeran came out to surprise the crowd with 'Lego House'. Earth-shattering screams ensued. What a lad."
Channing Tatum is set to join the X-Men universe if movie mogul Lauren Shuler Donner has her way - she wants the Magic Mike hunk to play comic book hero Gambit in a new film. Donner, the producer of upcoming X-Men movie Days of Future Past tells Empire magazine that Tatum is on board for the project.
She says, "I’m dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum. That doesn’t have to be a great big movie. It’s a thief in New Orleans, it’s a whole different story.
"He’s on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He’s such a sweetheart."
Channing has previously shown an interest in the role, which was played by Taylor Kitsch in 2009's X-Men: Origins.
Back in 2012, the actor told Total Film magazine, "Gambit’s my favourite (comic book hero), 'cause I’m from New Orleans - or around that area. My dad’s from New Orleans.
"No knock on Taylor Kitsch, though, ’cause I actually like his Gambit."
Actor Zac Efron went back to his singing roots by serenading U.S. talk show host Ellen Degeneres for her birthday on Thursday (30Jan14). The former High School Musical hunk visited the comedienne's show with guitar in hand, prepared to give her a birthday present she would never forget.
DeGeneres, who turned 56 on Sunday (26Jan14), told the audience, "Zac told me during the break that he actually doesn't play the guitar but he learned to play guitar and wrote a song for me for my birthday. And so I'm going to hear a song that he's gonna sing."
Efron responded, "I kind of thought like, what do you give somebody on their birthday that kind of has everything like you do. I don't really play guitar, and where's Taylor Swift when you need her, but I kind of just figured out how to play this last night."
The 26 year old began to strum his guitar while singing Stevie Wonder's soulful version of the Happy Birthday song to the beloved talk show host.
Following his performance, DeGeneres commented, "Well, that is sweet! Thank you so much. You didn't write that song."
Efron replied, "I know, that's Stevie Wonder."
The last time Efron was on DeGeneres' show in 2012, he was joined by country star Swift, and the two performed a cover of Foster the People's Pumped Up Kicks on their guitars.
Singer/actress Taylor Momsen has defended her decision to pose nude for the cover of her latest album, insisting she was trying to emulate classic artwork by Eric Clapton. The Gossip Girl star sparked a storm of controversy this month (Jan14) when she unveiled the racy buttock-baring photograph which will feature on the cover of Going to Hell, the new album by her band The Pretty Reckless.
However, Momsen is adamant she did not intend to grab headlines by stripping off, as she just wanted to create an iconic cover shot like the semi-nude picture featured on Clapton's 1975 live album E. C. Was Here.
She tells Hungertv.com, "I was trying to make a classic photo like the album covers I love, like (Pink Floyd's) Wish You Were Here or Clapton's E.C. Was Here. I honestly never thought about the nudity thing, I was trying to express that when we leave this world, you don't take nothing with you but our soul (sic)..."
Country stars Leann Rimes and Florida Georgia Line are teaming up to say farewell to rockers Motley Crue by recording their hits for an odd new tribute album. Vince Neil and his band announced on Tuesday (28Jan14) they would be retiring following one final 72-date tour, which will begin in July (14) - and as part of a salute to the group, Taylor Swift's label boss at Big Machine Records has announced plans to release a country-flavoured covers album.
Scott Borchetta has rounded up Rimes and Florida Georgia Line, as well as Cassadee Pope, Justin Moore and the Eli Young Band to record their favourite Crue tunes, stating, "When you look at the song catalogue, the songs are going to be the things that stand the test of time. I’m going to match up some of my outlaw artists with some of these great songs and we’re going to go pretty wide.
"Everybody that I brought this up to has been so excited. We’re intentionally leaving a few slots open because now that we’ve announced this I know there’s going to be people who want to be on this record."
The album will be released to coincide with the beginning of Motley Crue's last tour.
