A man has been arrested after breaking into the Kennedy family estate in Massachusetts in the hope of spotting pop star Katy Perry. Police were called to the Hyannis Port home of America's famous Kennedy clan on Tuesday night (15Jul14) after lawyer Ted Kennedy, Jr., nephew of late President John F. Kennedy, phoned the property's landline to check on his teenage son, only for the intruder, James Lacroix, to answer instead.
Lacroix, 53, was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering.
A spokesperson for Barnstable Police tells TMZ.com there was no sign of forced entry and reveals the suspect had allegedly walked into the compound through an unlocked door. He started cooking dinner and was later found by cops sitting on a couch, reading a book.
Kennedy, Jr.'s son reportedly thought Lacroix was just a house guest.
It is not known why Lacroix thought singer Perry would be present at the estate, but authorities claim he was clearly "detatched from reality".

Katy Perry has opened up about her failed marriage to Russell Brand and broken romance with John Mayer in the new issue of Cosmopolitan after becoming the first person to grace all of the magazine's global covers at once.
The pop superstar, who is reportedly back in the arms of her ex-boyfriend Robert Ackroyd, bares her soul in a revealing new interview with U.S. comedienne Chelsea Handler.
Speaking about her former husband Brand, she insists that their marriage seems very distant, explaining, "It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so it's like digging up an old grave. "A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth... Sometimes you have to go through all this s**t to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate."
And it appears she may have found that, at least for a short time, in ex-boyfriend Mayer. Perry tells the July (14) issue of the magazine, "I have a lot of respect for (John) still." The singer split from Brand at the end of 2011, and she ended her relationship with Mayer in February (14).

Singer John Mayer has encouraged his former lovers to write songs about him, after his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry revealed plans to pen a tune about their romance on her next album.
As well as Perry, the Daughters hitmaker has romanced singers Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift, who reportedly wrote the 2010 song, Dear John, about their failed relationship, and now he's bracing for the Roar star's lyrics after she told the upcoming July (14) issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, "There's no bad blood, but I'm sure there will be inspired songs."
When asked by TMZ.com what he thinks about Perry's songwriting plans, Mayer insists he isn't afraid for the world to hear what she has to say about him. He insists, "I have super strength for gang-ups, I'm fine. That's what you’re supposed to do, man, you're supposed to write songs. You're just not supposed to tell everybody you’re doing it."
Katy Perry has reconciled with Florence + The Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd almost two years after they split, according to a new report. The Firework hitmaker dated the British musician in 2012 following the disintegration of her marriage to Russell Brand the previous year (11).
Their romance fizzled out after several months and Perry began a new relationship with rocker John Mayer, but she has reportedly reunited with Ackroyd, with reports suggesting they were seen kissing at an afterparty for her Prismatic tour date in London over the weekend (30May-01Jun14).
A source tells Britain's The Sun, "Katy and Rob seemed to be very much back together at her party on Saturday night. They were inseparable, kissing, flirting and cuddling away in front of the roadies, celebs and friends at the bash. There were a fair few famous faces in the room but Katy and Rob only had eyes for each other."
Perry split from Mayer earlier this year (14).
Katy Perry is using crystals to heal her broken heart after pop icon Madonna recommended the bizarre therapy. Madonna introduced the Firework hitmaker to crystal healing, an alternative medicine technique that can supposedly mend a variety of health woes by changing a person's energy.
Perry, who split from John Mayer earlier this year (14), now employs the practice to keep her in top shape while on tour and to help her find love.
She says, "I'm a huge fan (of Madonna). I've got to know her recently and she's incredible... She had given me some advice on how to maintain my health throughout the tour. She had given me a number for a crystal healer. Everything stems from people's energy so it makes sense. I sleep with a rose quartz in my hand at night. It's supposed to help you find love and also heal your heart."
Coldplay star Chris Martin became an honorary member of Kings Of Leon on Sunday (25May14) when he joined the U.S. rockers onstage at Radio 1's Big Weekend festival in Glasgow, Scotland. The Yellow singer was all smiles as he teamed up with Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill for part of the group's opening set, just hours after his band had closed out Saturday night (24Jun14) at the festival.
The impressive weekend line-up also included appearances by One Direction, Calvin Harris, Lily Allen, Paolo Nutini, Katy Perry, The Vamps, Rita Ora and John Newman, who was thrilled to be a part of the big event.
Speaking backstage, the singer said, "It's crazy, Kings Of Leon have just come onstage... and One Direction yesterday at 1pm - it's opening up strong straight away. To be given a main stage opportunity the first year I've done it solo is incredible and I've kind of got to make the most out of it.
"I've played Glasgow and I've got a weird curse about travelling to Glasgow where my bus breaks down or we're always late or something, but we always manage to get here, and every time we do get here you know it's always an incredible gig, so thank you to Glasgow."
Katy Perry introduced the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles from the roof of the Capital Records building. The pop star recalled driving around L.A. in her "little beat-up car" that eventually got repossessed and hearing one of her songs on a local radio station for the first time.
In the pre-taped segment, the singer said, "This is the city where everyone comes to Roar. This is Los Angeles, the centre of the music universe. And this is the iHeartRadio Music Awards."
Pitbull opened the show on Thursday evening (01May14) by performing Wild Wild Love with girl band G.R.L. on the back of a prop yacht on the Shrine Auditorium stage.
The rapper also performed his Timber duet solo without Kesha, who has yet to perform for the first time following a stint in rehab earlier this year (14). The Tik Tok singer's voice could be heard but she was a no-show onstage.
Rihanna claimed the first-ever iHeartRadio Music Award when her song Pour It Up was named Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year. Pitbull accepted the honour on behalf of the absent singer, who was reportedly stuck in traffic on a local Los Angeles freeway.
The rapper was back onstage minutes later to accept the Best Collaboration prize for his hit duet with Kesha, and Miley Cyrus landed an award for Best Lyrics for her 2013 hit Wrecking Ball.
The sick star was unable to make it to the ceremony, so her father Billy Ray Cyrus picked up the honour on her behalf and said, "As a dad, I can't begin to tell you how much your thoughts, your love, your support for my family and Miley mean to all of us."
The pop star is still recovering from an allergic reaction to sinus medication.
Luke Bryan, Ed Sheeran and Bastille were also among the early performers, while Blake Shelton, Drake, Shakira, Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams are all billed to perform at the prizegiving and Michael Jackson's new tune Love Never Felt So Good will debut during the show.
Meanwhile, the telecast also featured pre-taped anecdotes about L.A. from Chris Martin, John Legend, Lady Gaga and Iggy Azalea.
More than 60 million U.S. radio listeners have voted for the awards.
Beloved British TV show Dad's Army is to be revived for the big screen as a new movie starring Bill Nighy and Toby Jones. The series, about a group of soldiers in Britain's Home Guard during World War II, starring Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier and Clive Dunn, ran for nine seasons between 1968 and 1977.
Dad's Army is now set for a cinematic revival nearly 50 years after it first hit TV screens. Jones has signed up to play Captain George Mainwaring, the role made famous by late star Lowe, while Nighy will step into Le Mesurier's part of Sergeant Arthur Wilson.
War veteran Jimmy Perry, 90, who wrote the original series, will produce the new film.
Dad's Army previously ventured into cinemas in a 1971 film which was shot inbetween the third and fourth series.
