Rapper, actor and TV personality Shad Moss is engaged to wed his reality star girlfriend Erica Mena after a whirlwind courtship.
The hip-hop star, formerly known as Bow Wow, first became linked to Mena earlier this year (14), but the couple didn't go public with the relationship until August (14), when the two stars were photographed on a romantic vacation in Puerto Rico. Now the couple is set to tie the knot after Moss proposed to the Love & Hip Hop New York beauty before walking the red carpet together at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday night (20Sep14).
He later shared a photo of Mena's new diamond ring on his Instagram.com page. The marriage will be Moss' first. The 27 year old has previously romanced R&B singer Ciara, reality star and fashion designer Angela Simmons and model Joie Chavis, the mother of his three-year-old daughter Shai.
Rapper/actor Shad Moss is reportedly dating U.S. reality TV star Erica Mena after jetting off on a romantic vacation with her. The Like You hitmaker, formerly known as Bow Wow, recently sparked rumours he was more than just friends with Love & Hip-Hop NY regular Mena after they were spotted getting close while attending a 50th birthday party for U.S. talk show host Wendy Williams.
Now the couple has been photographed on holiday together in Puerto Rico.
The pair has yet to comment on the relationship reports.
Bow Wow previously dated reality star-turned-fashion designer Angela Simmons and singer Ciara.
Well folks, it’s been another epic season of Love & Hip Hop, and we’re not even close to the finale. Love & Hip Hop New York took the drama to a whole ‘nother level with new cast members, the continuation of last season’s drama, and the most epic love triangle in the history of reality TV love triangles. And no, that is not an exaggeration. In case you missed it, or if you just need to make sure that what you were actually seeing was real, here are the biggest relationship fails (so far) on season four Love & Hip Hop New York.
Erica Mena Decides To Get Back With Her Ex-Manager/Boyfriend Rich Dollaz, But It’s Fine Because It Will All Work Out This Time
Oh, Erica and Rich. You slayed us last season with your creepy relationship, which involved a mixing of business and pleasure the likes of which we'd never seen. After watching Erica refuse to sign her contract all last season, and finding out that the two of them were actually cheating on each other with the same person (yes, take a moment to think about that), we were all surprised (or not surprised at all) to see Erica and Rich getting back in the business sack together. The moment that Erica decided to sign that contract, audiences everywhere breathed a collective sigh of regret for her. Plus she's got a girlfriend now, and Cyn Santana (who, sidenote, is ridiculously obsessed with Chipotle) doesn't seem too psyched to see this hook-up happening again. The drama is inevitable.
Saigon Demands That His Babymama Get A DNA Test, Then Asks If They Can Get Back Together
So here's an awkward situation. You give birth to a guy's son. Said guy waits until your son is well past infancy to demand a paternity test, and lets you know that as long as he is the father, he will totally consider dating you. Not an episode of Maury Povich, but the real life expereinces of Saigon and his babymama Erica Jean. It's fine. The two of them are fine now.
Joe Budden Explains The Non-Tahiry Hair On Tahiry’s Side Of The Bed
Fellas, if your girl finds hair in your bed. And it's not her hair. Just tell her you had a friend over, and that friend was a woman, and that friend laid down on her side of the bed, but not in a sexual way at all. Oh, and also when you changed the sheets it had nothing to do with the hair situation either. There ya go. Relationship Fail 101, courtesy of Joe Budden.
That Time When Peter Gunz Secretly Married His Artist/Mistress While He Was Still Living With His Girlfriend/Babymama
For the first few episodes of the season we were all disappointed in Peter Gunz, who was cheating on his girlfriend of 13 years and babymama Tara with his new artist Amina. But wait. There's more! Much more. As it turned out, Peter had actually secretly married Amina... but was continuing to live with Tara... because... WTF? Exactly. So, to recap. He married his mistress, thereby deconstructing the notion of the side chick, and creating for television the most horrifyingly epic love triangle of all time.
That Time When Peter Gunz’s Girlfriend/Babymama Found Out That He’d Married His Artist/Mistress And Kept Hooking Up With Him Anyway
So you can imagine what happened when Tara found out that her boyfriend had married his other girlfriend, while still living with her and acting like everything was super cool. We all felt warm and gooey inside watching Tara take a pair of scissors to all of Peter's clothing and musical instruments and, of course, sneakers. It was ah-mazing. But one episode later she was hooking up with him again! Again, WTF?! How? Why? Which now, technically, makes her the mistress in this sick, sick turn of events. Of all the relationship fails on Love & Hip Hop New York, Tara's willingness to jump back in the sack with Peter was probably the biggest. No judgment, though. Just ... some real concern for the state of love and hip hop in America.
We don't know how VH1 became home to gloriously ratchet reality shows like Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, but we’re kind of glad it happened. Where else can you ponder the cultural significance of booty shots and keep up with the goings on of beloved Harlem rapper Jim Jones? This week some of our biggest guilty pleasures in reality television are coming back with new seasons, and we’re here to help you get mentally prepared. First, there’s the new trailer for season four of Love & Hip Hop New York:
Get More: Love & Hip Hop, Love and Hip Hop 4
With some of our old favorites like Yandy and Erica Mena (who is in a new relationship...with a woman) making triumphant returns, and the insanity that will be Peter Gunz (functioning as the NYC version of Stevie J) we’re expecting some pretty heavy drama.
And then there’s good ol’ Chrissy & Mr. Jones:
A lot’s changed since the first season of this show -- Jim’s son from a previous relationship comes to live with the couple, and Mama Jones writing a sex book...actually, that sounds about right. Either way, we’ll be tuning in and enjoying all of the madness. Plus, all of the wholesome family stuff should balance out the very bad things we’re sure to see (and enjoy...guiltily) on Love & Hip Hop New York.
Love & Hip Hop New York and Chrissy & Mr. Jones premiere Monday, October 28 on VH1.
Stars including Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Matthew Mcconaughey, Chloe Grace Moretz, Ben Stiller and the Jonas Brothers have joined millions across the world in marking the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in America. Nearly 3,000 people were killed on 11 September, 2001, after two hijacked planes were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, while a third plane ripped into the Pentagon military defence headquarters in Virginia and another went down in Pennsylvania.
A ceremony was held in New York City on Wednesday morning (11Sep13) to mark 12 years since the atrocities, and a number of celebrities marked the anniversary in posts on Twitter.com.
Pop star Lady Gaga, who was brought up in the Big Apple, writes, "12 years ago today Sept 11th. We will never forget. Still remember the smoke in the sky. Saying lots of prayers for families who lost lives."
The Jonas Brothers wrote, "Never forget. 9/11" while Kings of Leon rocker Nathan Followill adds, "Remembering those who were taken too soon on this date 12 years ago. Sad day for all but stronger than ever. Never Forget."
British musicians Duran Duran posted, "Our thoughts are with every one who was affected by the tragedies of 9/11. We hope that all reading have a day filled w/ (with) peace," and music mogul Simon Cowell reached out to the victims' relatives: "My thoughts are with the families who lost someone special. They will never be forgotten."
Singer/actress Miley Cyrus threw her support behind a campaign which urges members of the public to do a good deed to mark the sad occasion, writing, "Do a good deed today in observance of 911 Day. Make your pledge at 911day.org."
Missy Elliott marked the day by recalling her time in New York City on the day of the attacks, writing, "I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. I was in NY just did (a) Michael Jackson tribute the night before... Me and Nelly Furtado performed. She made her plane but I got stuck in NY for days during 9/11 they closed everything... Many Prayers for the families grieving over the loss of a loved one during the 9/11 tragedy. May they rest in peace. Never 4gotten (sic)."
Actor/director Ben Stiller adds, "Glad to be in NY on 9/11. Remembering all those who lost someone."
Other messages came in from Josh Groban, Spike Lee, Mena Suvari, Sheryl Crow , Bobby Brown, Julianne Hough and Chely Wright, while actors Matthew McConaughey and Chloe Grace Moretz both posted photo tributes.
A number of other stars are raising money for good causes on Wednesday by manning the phones on trading floors in both London and New York as part of the annual Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners' Charity Day.
Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has channelled Oscar-winning movie American Beauty by posing naked on a bed of red chillis. The model, daughter of singer Chris De Burgh, has recreated actress Mena Suvari's famous poster for the classic film in which she is shown sprawled on red roses with only the flowers' petals preserving her modesty.
Davison, who was crowned Miss World at the age of 19, recently adopted a vegan diet and she is promoting the lifestyle by posing in an advertisement for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in which she lies naked on thousands of chillis, with the fiery peppers also helping to cover her up.
The striking image sits alongside the slogan 'Being Vegan Is Red Hot', and Davison says, "I've never felt as fit and healthy as I do as a vegan. Vegan meals aren't just delicious - they're free of animal fat and cholesterol, and they're packed with vitamins. Going vegan is the best way to keep your heart healthy and your body looking great!"
Suvari graduated from California's Providence High School in 1997 and landed her breakthrough role in the 1999 Oscar-winning American Beauty aged 20 - having never attended college.
However, in an open letter written to her younger self, Suvari reveals she seriously contemplated giving up her career to continue her education.
The touching note, published in Britain's Glamour magazine, reads, "You've been modelling since you were 12 and won lots of competitions for it. You think you're so mature, that you know how the world works - but believe me, you don't have a clue. In a few years you'll be in a massive film. You're so green (naive); you'll think every movie does that well and when people congratulate you, you won't really understand why.
"One day you'll question everything. Should you have gone to college? Should you quit acting? But don't worry; you don't need to be in a school room to educate yourself."
The 33-year-old star also warns young Mena she will one day be lauded as a sex symbol, thanks to a fantasy sequence in American Beauty.
She adds, "There's one scene that will get everyone's attention: you're going to be naked, covered in rose petals. You'll be considered a kind of sex symbol (even if you don't feel like one). Don't be surprised when people think you should be like your character. It's weird, but people will."
"I love England. London is an amazing city, it's so vivacious. I haven't had time to do much sightseeing but I did manage to do a road trip in a Mini to Stonehenge. It was lots of fun. I hope to see more of England in the future. I might even move here." Actress Mena Suvari considers relocating to the U.K. after starring in British romantic comedy The Knot.
The American Beauty star, 33, split from her toyboy husband, promoter Simone Sestito, last year (11) and filed divorce papers to end their 18-month marriage in January (12).
Both parties waived their rights to spousal support, according to TMZ.com. Suvari has two divorces behind her - she ended her five-year marriage to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann in 2005.
The Black Keys, actress Elisabeth Rohm and TV stars Whitney Port and Maria Menounos were also transformed into members of the undead for the campaign in aid of the American Red Cross.
Bosses of hit AMC show The Walking Dead teamed up with the organisation to create the creepy shoot, which aims to raise awareness of the need for blood donations in America.
All of the stars were given their makeovers by the programme's special effects make-up guru Greg Nicotero.
