Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul caused mayhem as he prepared for his historic night at the Emmy Awards on Monday (25Aug14) by staging a Twitter scavenger hunt all over Los Angeles for fans of the show. The actor found keepsakes in a closet and decided to part with them by sharing them among savvy fans - but he had no idea so many people would be interested in his character's license plate, plants, props and scripts from the show.
He explains, "The first clue was: 'Go find R.J. Mitte, aka Walt, Jr., at the IHop (restaurant) in West Hollywood. He'll be eating breakfast and he'll have some signed scripts for you'.
"Literally within 60 seconds, the IHop is just bombarded with just crazy fans and causes so much traffic."
Fans were so keen to get their hands on Paul's random stuff from the show, some were caught cheating.
He explains, "These ladies were camped outside my house and I pulled out and... they kept following me. I walked directly up to their, I took a picture of them and said, 'Shame on you, shame on you! You cannot cheat! You don't win anything!'"
Paul showed off photos from the scavenger hunt during an appearance on chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (28Aug14), and one featured himself on a park swing, dressed as his Breaking Bad character Jesse Pinkman.
He explained, "This is me in a West Hollywood park. I said, 'Tag, you're it,' on Twitter. 'The first person to tag me in the West Hollywood park (will win the suit I was wearing)'... and I signed it on the back, 'Ya b**ch, Aaron Paul'."
The actor made it extra difficult because when fans arrived at the park, he started running away from them.
Aaron Paul became the youngest actor to win three Emmys when he picked up gold at the prizegiving in Los Angeles on Monday night (25Aug14). Paul, who celebrated his 35th birthday on Wednesday (27Aug14), was honoured for his role in Breaking Bad.
Pop singer Ariana Grande helped to surprise a group of fans on the Today show in New York on Thursday (28Aug14), joining the girls as they were participating in a sing-off to win V.I.P. passes to Grande's concert in New York on Friday (29Aug14). The Break Free hitmaker walked out while the four girls were singing her hit song Problem and handed out passes to them all. The gig will feature on the show on Friday.
"I got a text from my American agent. She said, 'You've just won'. I thought, 'Ah, very, very nice'. And then I went back to sleep." British actor Martin Freeman did not celebrate his win at the Emmys on Monday night (25Aug14). Freeman was named Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his role in TV show Sherlock but he did not attend the ceremony in Los Angeles.
Hugh Jackman's actress wife Deborra-Lee Furness is convinced she will win her campaign to overhaul adoption laws in her native Australia. The Jindabyne star is a patron of the Adopt Change organisation, which is pushing for a reform of regulations to speed up the adoption process and boost the number of parentless children being housed.
The campaign is now gathering pace as Adopt Change staff are working with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, and Furness is adamant all their efforts will pay off.
She tells the country's Herald Sun newspaper, "I'm so excited and I've learnt so much from this experience. It shows if you stick at something, you are going to get results. We are talking about changing a whole culture. We are in the process of doing that.
"We are working with the Prime Minister's office and we are looking to really make a difference to so many children. It feels really good."
Actress Rose Mcgowan hopes to win an Oscar by launching a week-long movie festival to feature her directorial debut. The Charmed star stepped behind the camera for a short film called Dawn, which was received with critical acclaim after its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year (14).
Now McGowan is hoping to win gold at next year's (15) Academy Awards, but to qualify for the prizegiving, the film must be publicly exhibited for paid admission in Los Angeles for three consecutive days.
The actress/director has decided to take it one step further by turning the three required days into a week-long "Dawn Festival" at the Downtown Independent movie theatre.
Each night, Dawn will be played with a film hand-picked by McGowan, featuring a running theme of "iconic performances by actresses", including Thelma & Louise, Rosemary's Baby, Sixteen Candles, and The Silence of the Lambs. Special celebrity guests will also be in attendance during the seven-night festival, which kicks off on 19 September (14).
Set in 1960s America, McGowan's film tells the coming-of-age story of teenager Dawn, who lives a sheltered existence until she meets a mysterious gas station attendant who innocently flirts with her.
I might be bias because he’s my absolute favorite musician to ever exist, but Ed Sheeran got his first, and very well deserved, moonman from the MTV Video Music Awards on August 24. Winning the award for Best Male Video for his hit single "Sing", this was also his first American award. Ever. Well it’s about time!
This is going to be a huge PSA from me to you about how it’s practically necessary to be a big fan of this guy. This is no joke. If I had to pick only one musician to listen to for the rest of my life, with no hesitation, it would be Ed.
1. His lyrics are super cleaver.
2. It’s only him and a loop pedal on stage. Pure talent.
3. He was featured in People Magazines “Sexiest Man Alive” issue this year (It doesn't have to do with his music, but we all just have to acknowledge that high honor).
What’s wrong with him you may wonder? Nothing. Ed Sheeran is a perfect human.
4. Every song he sings is flawless.
5. Every song he sings live is even more flawless (my personal favorite is "Give Me Love" from his first album "+". Not only does it show off his insane vocals, but four minutes into the song, he builds a beat with just his guitar and voice. As mentioned before, he uses a loop pedal in order to do so).
Prepare to have your mind blown right now:
Impressed? I'm not done. The video doesn't even do it justice. See it sung live. Goosebumps everywhere...
6. He writes all his own music.
7. He writes other peoples music (only for some semi-famous musicians though like One Direction and Taylor Swift.. Maybe you've heard of them?).
8. Basically he's a music writing machine (all this and he's only 23...HOW!?).
Unlike other huge artists nowadays, Ed doesn't need anything extra to sound good or put on an entertaining show.
9. He doesn't need to sing along to a track.
10. He doesn't need backup dancers.
11. He doesn't need sparkly costumes.
12. He doesn't need to make it a huge production.
He literally stands in the same spot for his whole set, yet is able to make his shows the most amazing ones I've ever been to.
After being nominated frequently, and now finally winning, this offically makes Ed a part of the American music scene. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes home all future nominations from here on out (and if "X" doesn't win Album Of The Year, I will protest). Let's work for that Grammy next!
Luckily, Ed Sheeran continues his North American Multiply Tour on August 26 in San Jose, California. But he's here until mid-September, then he travels around the world through to February 2015.
There are no excuses not to see this tour. If you miss the closest show to you, just fly to another country to see him instead (that's what I'm doing!). This is Ed Sheeran we're talking about people! If you're not willing to make that sacrifice, you need to reconsider everything you just read. Hurry up and get your tickets now!

Miley Cyrus has come to the defence of the homeless youth she took to the MTV Video Music Awards after it was revealed he is wanted by police in his native Oregon for a probation violation. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker pretended Jesse Helt was her new boyfriend on the red carpet at the Los Angeles prizegiving on Sunday (24Aug14), but when it came time for her to give her acceptance speech for Video of the Year for Wrecking Ball, Helt took to the stage instead, with a speech to raise awareness about displaced youngsters across the U.S.
However, on Tuesday (26Aug14) it was revealed there is a warrant out for his arrest in Oregon relating to previous charges of criminal trespassing and criminal mischief, according to Eonline.com.
The 22 year old, who met Cyrus last week (ends22Aug14) at Hollywood shelter My Friend's Place, is accused of ignoring the terms of his probation on numerous occasions by failing to keep officials up-to-date on his whereabouts, failing to take a drug test, breaking his curfew and skipping out on his community service requirements, according to court documents.
But despite his criminal past being revealed, Cyrus is standing by her friend and is hoping to bring more awareness to the homeless in America.
She writes on Twitter.com, "People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included. I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction? The media never fails to disappoint. You've chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness. While they obsesses over one homeless mans legal issue let's help the other 1.6 million homeless youth."
Cyrus then shared a link to a fundraiser for My Friend's Place, in which fans who donate money to the cause can win a trip to Brazil for her concert in Rio de Janeiro on 28 September (14). The winner will meet Cyrus and get VIP treatment at the gig.
Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston returned home to a hero's welcome following his big win at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday (25Aug14) after his Los Angeles neighbours decorated the front of his house with posters and balloons. The actor claimed the coveted Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy for his portrayal of chemistry teacher-turned-drug lord Walter White, while his co-stars Aaron Paul and Anna Gunn, creator Vince Gilligan and director Moira Walley-Beckett also struck gold at the Hollywood ceremony.
And, as Cranston celebrated the recognition by dancing the night away at an Emmys afterparty, his neighbours showed their pride by decking out his front gate and fencing with helium balloons and notes of congratulations written by local kids.
The star was photographed smiling at the touching decor outside his home on Tuesday (26Aug14).
Alongside a record degree of mediocrity, the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards also marked a few records in some of its top competitive categories. Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston took home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series trophy last night: his fourth for the role of Walter White. With this latest achievement, Cranston has tied one Dennis Franz, who has held the record of four Best Dramatic Actor Emmys solo since 1999. The milestone begs us to look back through other Emmys records: Which stars have the most wins? The most nominations? And, perhaps tragically, the most nominations without a single win?
This bittersweet superlative goes to none other than Angela Lansbury, who never quite nabbed that trophy despite 12 Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series nominations as Murder, She Wrote star Jessica Fletcher.
Not only does Lansbury claim ownership of the most nominations without a win, she also has the most nominations period in any acting category. Alan Alda, Ted Danson, and Kelsey Grammer have all earned 11 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category (for M*A*S*H, Cheers, and Frasier respectively), and Mary Tyler Moore snagged 10 Lead Actress in a Comedy nominations for her eponymous sitcom. As for supporting categories, David Hyde Pierce has taken 11 nods for his work on Frasier, while Rhea Perlman and Loretta Swit have each earned 10 comedy nominations (Cheers and M*A*S*H).
