Pharrell Williams added another major honour to his trophy cabinet on Friday (04Jul14) after picking up the Raymond Weil International Award at the O2 Silver Clef Awards in London. Other winners at the prestigious lunchtime gala included former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, who picked up the O2 Silver Clef Award, Sir Tom Jones, who was presented with the Sony Mobile Lifetime Achievement Award and Black Sabbath.
In addition to the prizegiving event, the awards ceremony also serves as a charity for Nordoff Robbins, which provides therapy to adults and children suffering from various diseases and conditions.
Prizewinner Page says, ''I played on the original Silver Clef show that was way back at Knebworth, which had Cliff Richard and Pink Floyd and I played with Robert Plant there. I went to the Nordoff Robbins centre the other day and they told me that the centre was established from that charity concert, so that was really nice to find out.
"When I was at the centre I met someone who was a recipient of the work the charity is doing and it was quite a moving experience I have to say. When you see the results that they get you can see it's what you always believed music could do. Music is a great communicator... Music has a power.''

Giorgio Moroder - American Express Innovation Award
Gareth Malone - PPL Classical Award

Pregnant Kim Kardashian has hit back at critics who mock her choice of maternity dresses, insisting she refuses to read the negative remarks. The reality TV star, who is around eight months pregnant with her first child with rapper boyfriend Kanye West, has attracted dozens of catty remarks for frequently donning tight-fitting and skimpy outfits during her pregnancy.
On Wednesday (08May13), funnyman Robin Williams joined those mocking Kardashian for wearing a figure-hugging floral-print Givenchy gown at the Costume Institute Gala in New York on Monday (06May13), comparing her to his Mrs. Doubtfire character from the 1993 movie.
However, Kardashian is adamant she takes no notice of her critics and refuses to even read their negative remarks.
She tells British magazine Fabulous, "I just think, why surround yourself with negative things when you don't have to? I definitely avoid certain things like looking at the comments. It's just not worth my while."
Comedian Robin Williams has poked fun at the floral print dress Kim Kardashian wore to the Costume Institute Gala in New York on Monday (06May13) by comparing it to the garish outfit he wore as cross-dressing movie nanny Mrs. Doubtfire. The pregnant reality TV star turned heads as she walked the red carpet covered head to toe in a form-fitting Givenchy gown, designed by her rapper beau Kanye West's pal Riccardo Tisci.
Her outfit drew a largely negative reaction from fans and critics online, and even Hollywood funnyman Williams weighed in on the hot fashion topic on Twitter.com by posting side-by-side photos of Kardashian and his Mrs. Doubtfire character from the 1993 movie.
In the accompanying caption, the actor quipped, "I think I wore it better!"
Meanwhile, Tisci has defended Kardashian's wardrobe choice for the event, aka the Met Ball, telling WWD.com, "I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career."
