Embattled R&B star Chris Brown has been granted permission to leave his lockdown rehab centre in California for a few hours on Sunday (22Dec13) to co-host a charity toy drive. The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is currently enrolled in a court-ordered 90-day anger management treatment programme, but he will honour a scheduled appearance at this weekend's Xmas Toy Drive, organised by bosses at the Brooklyn Projects skateboard firm and Brown's clothing company, Black Pyramid.
His on/off girlfriend Karreuche Tran, who has helped create items for Black Pyramid, will also attend the Los Angeles event and collect unwrapped gifts for underprivileged kids, reports TMZ.com.
Brown was ordered to seek help for his temper troubles last month (Nov13) after the judge overseeing his probation learned that he had been kicked out of another rehab centre in Malibu for allegedly hurling a rock through his mother's car window.
The singer, who was placed on supervised release for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna, has since had his probation revoked after the judge ruled on Monday (16Dec13) that a misdemeanour assault charge relating to a recent fight in Washington, D.C. violated the terms of his freedom. He has pleaded not guilty to the count.
The court official refused to have Brown taken into custody in favour of the star continuing his anger management treatment, although he must return for another progress update in February (14).
R&B star Chris Brown has had his probation revoked after a Los Angeles judge ruled that assault charges relating to a recent fight in Washington, D.C. violated the terms of his freedom. The Kiss Kiss hitmaker, who was placed on supervised release for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna, appeared in court on Monday (16Dec13) for a progress hearing, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin was not happy with his conduct in Washington, D.C. and revoked his probation.
However, Judge Brandlin decided against having the singer taken into custody as Brown is said to be doing well as he undergoes anger management treatment in a lockdown rehab facility. Brown was ordered to spend 90 days under doctors' care last month (Nov13).
The embattled singer must remain in treatment and return to court on 10 February (14) for another progress update. He must also avoid using medical marijuana until the next hearing.
Brown was slapped with a misdemeanour assault charge in October (13) following a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.
He pleaded not guilty to the allegation, but the bust-up prompted him to seek help to overcome his temper troubles.
He checked in to a rehab centre in Malibu, California on 29 October (13), but left the venue in early November (13). It was subsequently revealed that Brown had actually been kicked out after hurling a rock through his mother's car window during an argument, an outburst which led the judge to sentence him to the 90-day treatment sentence.
It's the second time this year (13) Brown's probation has been revoked - a judge issued a similar ruling in July (13) after he was accused of hit-and-run dating back to a minor incident in May (13). The case was later dismissed.
Chris Brown's lawyers have been granted a postponement in the embattled singer's Washington, D.C. assault case to allow them extra time to review evidence. The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is facing a misdemeanour charge related to a fight outside a hotel there last month (Oct13), but he won't have to return to court until 8 January (14).
His attorneys requested the delay during a hearing on Monday (25Nov13), revealing they had yet to sit down with their client to go over the case in detail as he is currently in a lockdown rehab.

Chris Brown's lawyer has asked a judge to excuse the embattled singer from a court hearing in Washington D.C. next week (begs25Nov13) so he can remain in Los Angeles for anger management treatment. The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is due to appear before a judge on Monday (25Nov13) in relation to a charge of misdemeanour assault following a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel last month (Oct13).
The arrest prompted Brown, who has pleaded not guilty to the count, to seek professional counselling in Malibu, California for his temper troubles, but he was kicked out of the facility just 13 days later after reportedly hurling a rock through his mother's car window following a disagreement.
The incident was revealed in documents submitted to a California judge on Wednesday (20Nov13) as part of his probation review, during which Brown was ordered to spend 90 days in a live-in rehab centre in Los Angeles and submit to random drug testing.
As a result of the counselling punishment, his lawyer, Mark Geragos, has appealed to the official overseeing his Washington, D.C. criminal case to allow the R&B star to sit out the hearing, reports TMZ.com.
The judge has yet to issue a ruling over the request.
Embattled R&B star Chris Brown was tossed from rehab after reportedly hurling a rock through his mother's car window. According to the latest update in the singer's probation report, Brown, who was seeking help for his temper troubles, was asked to leave the Malibu, California treatment centre after 13 days.
The documents, obtained by TMZ.com, suggest Brown and his mother disagreed about the amount of time he should spend in rehab - and he shattered the window of her car by throwing a rock.
Back in court on Wednesday (20Nov13), Brown was ordered to spend 90 days in rehab by a judge - a sentence similar to the one passed down to Lindsay Lohan earlier this year (13).
He will have to check into a court-approved live-in anger management rehab in Los Angeles and submit to drug testing.
If you haven’t managed to check out Thor: The Dark World in theaters yet, we highly recommend it. Even if you’re not a huge fan of Thor (maybe you’re a Captain America or Iron Man fan, we don’t judge) or superhero flicks in general (how could you?), the Marvel film is worth a watch if only for Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston. Although Loki’s name might not be in the title of the movie, he certainly steals the show.
From his first moments in the film — doing a snarky Bellamy salute, snapping his heels together and all — to the very final scene in which he reveals himself on the throne of Asgard, Loki is reason enough to watch Thor: The Dark World.
One of Loki’s best moments is when he’s arguing with Thor while the hero attempts to fly a Dark Elf ship out of Asgard. “Well done, you just decapitated grandfather,” is just one of many hilarious Loki quips as he does his best impression of an amazingly annoying back-seat flyer.
Then there are Loki’s more vulnerable moments: when Thor finds Loki distraught in his cell after their mother’s death (it was yikes-worthy) and his “death” scene. (We all know Loki will never die. Ever.)
But the best Loki-moment is when he creates the illusion that he looks like Captain America (a fantastic cameo from Chris Evans). It reminded fans why Loki is called the god of mischief and gave a nod to the other Marvel films, all in the span of ten seconds.
Although we’re disappointed Loki won’t be in the next Avengers film, he’s still our favorite villain, and a big reason we enjoyed Thor: The Dark World.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has been named People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. The 34-year-old singer follows in the footsteps of 2012's honouree, Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, and fended off competition from fellow hunky celebrities including Justin Timberlake, David Beckham and Idris Elba.
Levine was officially handed the title during Tuesday's (19Nov13) live episode of U.S. talent show The Voice, on which he serves as a judge and mentor.
In an accompanying article in the magazine, he says, "As a musician, you have fantasies that you want to win Grammys, but I didn't really think that this was on the table. I was just amazed and stunned and it almost seemed like they were kidding, but they weren't, so that's cool."
Prior to the announcement, the sexy singer told Access Hollywood that if he picked up the prize, he will be constantly teased by his pals.
He said, "There is no way that I’ll ever be able to live it down. I'm going to be getting pranked by everyone, if it does happen. I'm going to be getting pranked by every single person I know!"
It's been a great 2013 Levine - he became engaged to model Behati Prinsloo in June (13), shot his first feature film and even launched his own men's clothing line at American department store Kmart.
Also making the annual 'hot list' are singers Luke Bryan, Bruno Mars, Pharrell Williams, actors Chris Pine and Justin Theroux, U.S. talk show host Jimmy Fallon, and Mia Farrow's political journalist son, Ronan Farrow.
Before all of you devoted to the glory that is Adam Levine attempt to claw my eyes out, let me say that I also believe that the Maroon 5 frontman is a godly male specimen. However, when Gossip Cop reported that Levine would be named Sexiest Man Alive this year, we were quite shocked. Usually, People picks the year's biggest star or breakout performer for this honor. Sure, Levine is a judge on the popular show The Voice, and he recently made headlines for getting engaged to a Victoria's Secret model (yes, it's okay to hate her), but other than that, Levine hasn't really done a whole lot lately in the way of, ya know, anything. The choice to name him Sexiest Man Alive would have made more sense back in 2012 when Maroon 5's album Overexposed was released... or even one year into the future, when Levine makes his film debut in Can a Song Save Your Life? ... So, since we don't completely understand how the the reported choice of Levine for the cover came to be, we've come up with five other studs that would have made more sense this year.
1. Chris Hemsworth. If we were to choose based on who is the sexiest man that also had a hugely successful year, we would have gone with Hemsworth. Lately, Hemsworth has become a household name due to his starring roles in crazy successful films like Rush and Thor: The Dark World, as well as his small but memorable cameo in this summer's blockbuster hit Star Trek Into Darkness. In addition, he's got the next installments of Snow White and the Huntsman and The Avengers on the horizon. Simply put, Hemworth would have been the most logical choice to be put on the cover this year. His overall perfectness – which comes complete with an Australian accent and a six-pack – is made even better by his insanely successful film career that is spawning franchises as well as making him one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood.
2. Benedict Cumberbatch. Sure, Cumberbach may not be considered traditionally sexy, but honestly, we're all in love with him anyway. This year alone, Cumberbatch stared or will star in Star Trek Into Darkness, 12 Years a Slave, The Fifth Estate, August: Osage County, Little Favour, and will showcase his dragoning skills in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. That's six projects for Cumberbatch this year alone, not to mention the new season of Sherlock that's on the horizon for early 2014. If we were to name the breakout star of the year right now, it would be Cumberbatch. Plus, with his adorable English accent and his huge following of Cumberbitches, Cumberbatch would have been a perfect choice, after all, success is sexy.
3. Aaron Paul. With Breaking Bad ending this year, it would have been the perfect time to put Paul on the cover of People as the Sexiest Man. Paul's portrayal of the flawed but loveable Jesse Pinkman made the entire world fall in love with him, and with his great smile, bad-boy edge, and amazing acting skills he is the one of the sexiest actors around right now. Plus, it would have been a nice change to see an actor who is predominately on TV be featured.
4. Ryan Gosling. While Gosling has not been in a huge, money-making blockbuster since 2011's Crazy, Stupid, Love, he is... well, Ryan Gosling! He should have been named years ago, probably back in 2004 when the world fell in love with his performance in The Notebook. Every year since, it has been predicted that he will be named, and every year we are disappointed. Just from our crushed expectations standpoint, Gosling should have been featured on the cover. Plus, it's not like he has been doing nothing this year. He did star in the critically acclaimed film A Place Beyond the Pines as well as the moderate hit, The Gangster Squad. So, come on People, please, please, please pick Gosling at some point in the near future.
5. Justin Timberlake. Finally, if People wanted to go with a musician, Timberlake would have been a better choice this year. In 2013, Timberlake released The 20/20 Experience which shot to number one on the album charts. Then, he released the follow-up The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, while also collaborating on four major hit singles including "Suit & Tie," "Mirrors," "Holy Grail" and "Take Back the Night." While accomplishing all this, Timberlake was also named GQ's Man of the Year and won the VMA's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to celebrate his achievement and impact in music. Plus, he got 'NSYNC to have a reunion, which is basically qualification enough for him to be named as The Sexiest Man Alive. His overall hotness doesn't hurt either.
What do you guys think? Does is make sense for Adam Levine to be on the cover, or should someone else have been chosen? Let us know in the comments!
