Puerto Rican rapper/singer Don Omar has been arrested amid allegations of domestic violence. The Reggaeton star, real name William Omar Landron Rivera, was taken into custody in the early hours of Wednesday (17Sep14) at a home in the Vega Alta neighbourhood.
He stands accused of threatening his 26-year-old girlfriend.
Reports suggest Omar, 36, was still behind bars as WENN went to press.
Pop star Rihanna has aimed a foul-mouthed rant at U.S. TV bosses for dropping her song from a sports show in the aftermath of a domestic violence scandal affecting a player.
The Umbrella singer's hit track Run This Town had been reworked with a comedic segment featuring Don Cheadle for broadcast on Thursday Night Football last week (ends14Sep14). However, the song was dropped from the line-up after Baltimore Ravens player Ray Rice was caught on camera allegedly assaulting his partner in an elevator resulting in a ban from playing in the National Football League (NFL).
Rihanna, who was a victim of domestic violence herself in 2009, has now spoken out about the song ban and accused TV bosses of punishing her for someone else's mistakes, insisting she does not want them running the track in this week's (beg15Sep14) show. In a serious of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, F**k you! Y'all are sad for penalizing me for this... The audacity..." Reports suggest CBS bosses now plan to drop Rihanna's song for a second time following her Twitter.com rant.
Rihanna was left battered and bruised after she was beaten by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown following a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. Brown was later convicted of assault for attacking the singer.
Outkast star Andre Benjamin had to perfect playing the guitar left-handed in just days after learning it would be too expensive to let camera trickery make him look like Jimi Hendrix on film. The singer, aka Andre 3000, felt sure he'd perfected Hendrix's nuances and language for new biopic All Is By My Side until producers told him he'd have to learn to play the guitar just like the late rock great.
He says, "It’s almost the same as walking backwards!"
Benjamin tells ShortList.com the filmmakers were convinced they could just film him playing right-handed and flip the image to match Hendrix’s actual playing style.
He adds, "That meant we were going to have to change everything in the scene, which was really expensive. We got this information just a couple of days before I was supposed to go and shoot it. I was kind of bummed about it.
"I didn’t know if I could pull it off. At one point during the meeting, I was not going to do it. I was going to say, 'The movie’s not gonna work, because I don’t want to f**k Hendrix up and make him look terrible'. I hadn’t practised the left-hand thing once."
But hard work and dedication paid off and Benjamin is now an ambidextrous musician: "I just had to dive in with the few days I had before shooting. I think we had a week or two. I had to just practice every day left handed, until I could get it to a place where I felt comfortable enough to do it."
Music veteran Don Mclean put in a personal phone call to British rocker Jake Bugg after discovering an old fan letter from the young star. Bugg, 20, was thrilled to talk to his hero five years after leaving a message for the American Pie hitmaker on his website.
The note was discovered by McLean's website manager, who put him in touch with his famous fan.
Bugg, who met the superstar as a child, tells MTV's Soundchain show, "When I was young there was a place on his website where you used to be able to leave little messages on email. It would say 'Don can't reply to anything'. Six months ago the guy who ran the website, who's British, got in touch and said 'Just been cleaning out inbox and found your message from five years ago' and gave me his (Don's) number... He (McLean) called me and woke me up. He spoke for about 40 minutes. I spoke for about one minute. He was giving me this advice like, 'Don't get married'. It was pretty crazy."
Let me do you a quick favor and introduce you to Dylan O’Brien (if you haven't met yet), A.K.A. the funniest, cutest guy to ever appear on MTV. Oh yeah, he’s also Thomas, the main character in the highly anticipated film The Maze Runner.
Let’s go way back in this introduction, before he was Stiles on Teen Wolf, or before he started running around mazes, back to when O’Brien was a cute, little nugget 14-year-old with a YouTube Channel.
You’ll love Dylan more once you’ve seen his “Dis Be My Channel” with the appropriate username 'moviekidd826':
That is him in the baseball cap and sunglasses, also rocking out on the drums and stealing your former teenage heart.
If you didn’t know how YouTube worked, Dylan was there to teach you how to make a channel of your own:
“Hey guys, moviekidd here!”
If you had no idea who he was then, you sure as hell noticed him when he first appeared on Teen Wolf in 2011 as Stiles Stilinski.
Stiles is Scott McCall's sarcastic, quick-witted best friend on the show. But really, everyone (including them) knows that those two are brothers. He is pretty much the only reason the werewolf has made it this far on the show.
But, that’s not the only thing Dylan has worked on that has made us laugh:
He was the super snarky, kind-of asshole genius in The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson:

The First Time, with his now-girlfriend Britt Robertson:
How cute is it that they met filming this movie and are still together?! We love him even more for it. You're a lucky gal Britt!
He was even on an episode of New Girl:
And he totally ships Nick/Jess.
If Dylan wasn’t making waves as an actor, he could go into the business of creating reaction GIFs and make a fortune on the internet, since it already loves him so much:
Begging, while a little sad (Dylan is versatile)
*Blows kisses right back*
Or, he could totally become a model:
His Twitter account is a goldmine of funny snippets of his humor and personality:

We luh ya too Dylan.
He is also the kind of guy that will RT his friends and call them cute:
“@PoulterWill: Our leader and buddy - @dylanobrien !!! #TheMazeRunner pic.twitter.com/CUl6haT8GO” awww my friends are the cutest :)
— Dylan O'Brien (@dylanobrien) August 25, 2014
If that doesn’t just make you want to squeeze him, then I don’t know what will.
Talking about friends, he’s got the best relationship with Teen Wolf star, Tyler Posey:
He’s so honest, you can’t help but love him:
Best of all, he isn’t afraid to call himself weird:
If you haven’t gotten enough of him yet, YouTube is full of videos highlighting his funniest moments (and believe me there, there are TONS to choose from).
Why not indulge yourself and watch this adorable, funny collection of best moments:
Then go see him kick some greiver ass as Thomas in The Maze Runner next week:

One-time abuse victim Rihanna's introduction to U.S. TV's Thursday Night Football special was yanked at the last minute on Thursday (11Sep14) and replaced with an interview with embattled league commissioner Roger Goodell amid the sport's ongoing domestic violence drama.
Rihanna’s Jay Z collaboration Run This Town was billed as part of the launch of the 2014 season of the CBS show, but network bosses decided the programme should open with a more serious message following the recent Ray Rice scandal.
Rice was arrested earlier this year (14) following an altercation with his then-fiancee in a hotel elevator in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Sickening footage of the incident has since been released and earlier this month (Sep14) the sportsman was kicked off the Baltimore Ravens roster and banned from playing in the National Football League (NFL).
Goodell came under fire from the media and women's rights groups for not acting sooner in dealing with Rice, amid accusations he and NFL bosses don't take domestic violence seriously enough. The commissioner has since spoken out about the scandal, dismissing reports that suggested the footage of Rice knocking his now-wife unconscious was made available to NFL executives in April (14), and his exclusive interview with CBS newswoman Norah O'Donnell was replayed at the beginning of the Thursday night football coverage, as well as a chat with Ravens team owner Steve Bisciotti.
As a result, Rihanna's reworked Run This Town, featuring a comedic segment starring Don Cheadle, was axed.
Announcing the decision hours before the big game, CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said, "We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we needed to have the appropriate tone coverage." Ironically, the featured game was a clash between the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Rihanna was a victim of abuse in 2009 when her then-boyfriend Chris Brown attacked her during a fight on the eve of the Grammy Awards. The R&B singer is still on probation following his violent actions.
Have you ever watched the The Office and thought, “Man, me and ______ are literally just like Jim and Pam.” You’re not alone. Many of us think (or pretend) the same thing. If you’re dating someone who has been in love with you pretty much since you met, you’re dating a Jim. Or, if you left somebody else, because you felt a pull to your S.O., then you’re probably Pam.
1. For starters, one of you was crushing on the other for-EVER before you dated:
2. It took the other person a while, but then they did and they noticed:
3. You guys work (or worked) together:
4. So you guys have to make time for each other…in the break room:
5. One of you is fairly goofy:
6. While one of you is very focused:
7. But, they influence you to be goofy too:
8. No one else can make you laugh the way they do:
9. You guys always high-five:
10. You have each other’s backs, in the best possible way:
11. There is no one else you’d rather end your workday with, even if you just spent the whole time with them:
12. You kind of start morphing into the same person, with the same facial expressions:
13. You know everything there is to know about each other, yet sometimes you really don’t understand what the other person is talking about:
14. You would honestly marry them anywhere, if you could (or you already did):
15. You guys can happily say this about each other:
May you two be happy and love each other forever, just like these two:
Former Eurythmics star Annie Lennox has hinted that her new collection of standards might be her last album, because she's too happy to write new material. Launching her new release Nostalgia in London on Monday (08Sep14), the singer revealed the album will perhaps be her "swan song".
But when fans at a question-and-answer session voiced their disapproval to the news of her retirement, she added, "Every time I ever made an album with (Eurythmics bandmate) Dave Stewart I always said, 'That's the last'. And after that, with my own albums, it was, 'That's it! I’m never doing that again'. But I came back to it."
Lennox admitted she's "too happy" to write the torch songs she's famous for, adding, "It’s thanks to someone who will remain nameless, but who makes me very happy with life these days. A lot of my writing was cathartic because it was a very helpful way to get certain feelings expressed. Misery is a great catalyst for some extraordinary music but you don’t really want to live there 24/7. I’d rather be not successful and happy than be super-successful and absolutely miserable."
Amy Poehler is amazing. Simple fact. She should be your idol, weekly #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday), and more. She's an inspiration to us all, beauty and talent wise. If you can't already tell, we absolutely love her and you should too.
1. First and foremost, she plays the greatest character on television, Leslie Knope:
2. She’s a talented dancer:
3. She’s an advocate for “twerking,” but obviously the classy kind.
4. She can wink her way into anyone’s heart.
5. She gives amazing life advice:
6. Like, really awesome advice, the kind everyone needs to know:
7. She’s a cool mom:
8. But she actually is, in real life:
9. She’s honest about why people drink:
10. She can make anyone give her a back massage, even Bono:
11. Her best friend is the amazing Tina Fey:
12. George Clooney thinks she smells good:
13. It has been said that is the voice of every generation:
14. She’s a red carpet queen:
15. A fist bump expert:
16. An experienced space traveler:
17. And an SNL goddess/legend:
18. Plus, she understands the internet. Kind of:
We love you Amy, don’t you ever change!
Taylor Swift hasn't been on a date since she split from One Direction star Harry Styles last year (13), because she's sick of giving comedians jokes for their act.
The Love Story singer has long been ridiculed for her dating disasters and her knack of writing songs about them, and she even pokes fun at her short romances in the lyrics of her new hit Shake It Off, but now she's determined to make sure her next boyfriend is for keeps.
She tells Rolling Stone, "I feel like watching my dating life has become a bit of a national pastime. And I’m just not comfortable providing that kind of entertainment anymore. I don’t like seeing slide shows of guys I’ve apparently dated. I don’t like giving comedians the opportunity to make jokes about me at award shows. "I don’t like it when headlines read 'Careful, Bro, She’ll Write a Song About You', because it trivialises my work. And most of all, I don’t like how all these factors add up to build the pressure so high in a new relationship that it gets snuffed out before it even has a chance to start. And so, I just don’t date."
