Beyonce is facing a double embarrassment after she was caught miming at one of her concerts and airbrushing her recent vacation snaps.
A video clip has emerged online showing the singer lip-syncing at an On The Run show in Paris, France with her husband Jay Z. Beyonce is seen walking across the stage singing her hit track Partition, but when she leans down to embrace fans in the audience, she is seen holding the microphone by her side as the voice on the track continues. After realizing her mistake, she brings the microphone back to her face and attempts to continue miming where she left off.
The pop star was previously embroiled in a lip-syncing controversy after she was caught miming The Star-Spangled Banner during U.S. President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. last year (13).
The concert slip-up is the latest embarrassment for the singer, who is also facing claims she had her holiday pictures air-brushed to make her appear slimmer. The snaps, which were taken onboard a luxury yacht, show Beyonce posing in a bikini on a set of steps, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted distortions in the image where the stairs do not meet properly, sparking speculation she had inches shaved off her thighs and waist before posting the images online.
The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has stepped up her campaign against Hollywood sexism by taking aim at popular kids' movie Frozen, accusing filmmakers of featuring female characters with "Barbie doll proportions". The actress recently used her Kveller.com blog to criticise pop star Ariana Grande for stripping off for an advertising campaign to promote her new album, and she has now set her sights on the animated Disney adventure.
Bialik, who is mother to two sons, claims the film's plot sets a bad example to young girls as it focuses on a woman's quest for a husband, writing, "The search for a man/love/Prince is still the reigning plot line in the movie... My issue is that this is a movie geared to small children who I don't think need to be focusing on that as the main driving plot of a movie... Disney classics were all about this and look where it's gotten us!"
She also takes issue with film's male love interest turning out to be a villain, claiming it promotes "male-bashing", but reserves her most scathing criticism for the way the female characters have been portrayed physically, adding, "The male characters look like cartoon men... Not so with our lead ladies... They have ginormous eyes... Teeny-tiny ski slope noses. Exaggerated delicate ski sloppiness (sic), actually. Barbie doll proportions of their bodies in general: tiny waists, ample busts, and huge heads. They look like dolls."
Bialik concludes, "I know everybody loved Frozen and that I am going to get so much hate for this. But I'm just keeping it real, yo. Or trying."
Country music star Lynn Anderson has apologised to her fans following her DUI arrest on Friday morning (12Sep14), insisting she's "committed" to getting help for her problems. The Rose Garden singer, 66, was charged with driving under the influence after crashing her car in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday night (11Sep14).
She reportedly told police officers that she had been drinking and taking prescription medicine before the crash.
A statement she released on Friday reads: "I apologize for the choices I made and subsequent actions on Thursday evening that ultimately resulted in the accident. By the grace of God, I am very grateful that no one was injured as a result.
"I am committed to the accountable steps that I will be facing on the road to recovery and am deeply sorry for anyone that I have harmed along this path.”
Anderson has been arrested on DUI charges twice before - in 2004 and 2007. She has also entered rehab in the past to seek treatment.
Former child star Alisan Porter has opened up about her addiction to alcohol. The actress, best known for her leading role in 1991's Curly Sue, has been sober for seven years but has finally decided to talk about her struggle with booze.
On Thursday (11Sep14), Porter, 33, took to her Lil' Mamas blog and penned a lengthy post about her addiction, writing, "Hi, I'm Ali, and I'm an alcoholic. Yup, bet you didn't see that one coming. Or, because you know that I'm a former child star, you totally did. Anyway, it's the truth. I've been sober since Oct 28th, 2007 and I haven't touched a drink or a drug since."
Porter went on to describe the moment she realised she needed to get sober: "I felt trapped, scared, and sad and I was ready to really go for broke or get better. So, I did what every good user does and I prayed to a god I had never believed in... and then called my mom.
"Days later I was off to treatment, just like that. For the next four years I went to meetings, worked the steps, got a sponsor, found a god of my own understanding, prayed, meditated and basically grew up. Growing pains were inevitable, I felt them often but I continued on the path because unlike my old ways, this way was working."
After becoming sober, Porter married her longtime boyfriend Brian Autenrieth in 2012 and they are parents to two children, Mason, two, and four month old Aria Sage.
She tells People magazine she decided to open up about her alcoholism in the hope of helping others, adding, "I've waited a long time to write about my sobriety: it's a touchy subject. Also, you never know when you're going to wake up and realize the disease won. I've been profoundly affected by so many losses of late and if I can help just one person, one former child actor or especially one mother, this will be worth it."
"You won't find her on (dating website) Tinder... 'Are you in the area? I'm looking for lunch!'" Iggy Azalea insists her Booty video co-star Jennifer Lopez won't be taking desperate steps to rejoin the dating game.
Pop star FERGIE experienced mixed emotions as her son took his first steps, because her husband Josh Duhamel was not there to witness the milestone. The Black Eyed Peas singer reveals little Axl, who turned one on 29 August (14), started walking while she was hanging out with him at home, and although she was thrilled by the magic moment, she felt bad for Transformers actor Duhamel, who was absent.
She tells Us Weekly magazine, "He just took his first steps! I was helping him climb the stairs when he got up, stretched his arms and came to me. I was like, 'Did my son just walk?' It was exhilarating!
"(But) Josh was at work. I felt so bad! But we are both working parents, so each of us is going to get different gifts."
Paralympian Oscar Pistorius failed to take any steps to avoid Reeva Steenkamp's death when he shot her at his home, and acted "hastily and with excessive force" during the incident, a judge has ruled. The South African sports legend shot Steenkamp four times in the bathroom of his home in Pretoria, South Africa last year (13) but insisted he had panicked and mistook her for a burglar.
He was cleared of premeditated murder and second-degree murder on Thursday (11Sep14), and as judge Thokozile Masipa considers a lesser charge of culpable homicide, she has branded Pistorius "negligent" over the shooting.
Judge Masipa told the court, "On the facts of this case, I am not persuaded that a reasonable person, with the accused's disabilities, in the same circumstances, would have fired four shots into that small toilet cubicle."
She added that a reasonable person would have known that "the person inside might be struck and might die as a result", concluding, "He failed to take any steps to avoid the resultant death. I am of the view that the accused acted too hastily and used excessive force. It's clear that his conduct was negligent."
Pistorius, who wept during much of the verdict hearing, has to wait until Friday (12Jun14) for the full judgement.
He faces a charge of culpable homicide as well as two counts of firing a gun in public and one of illegally possessing ammunition.
Steenkamp was shot dead by Pistorius at his home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day last year (14Feb13) after locking herself in the bathroom, and died of her injuries.
Pistorius' six-month trial murder trial was packed with drama - he sobbed and wailed in court on a number of occasions, and even vomited when details of his girlfriend's gunshot wounds were read out. The trial was also postponed for a month after the judge ordered Pistorius to undergo psychiatric testing to determine whether he was fit for trial.
Country star Garth Brooks suffered an embarrassing fall onstage during his comeback tour on Friday (05Sep14) when he misjudged a jump. The singer was performing at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on Friday when he attempted to leap down two steps but he stumbled on landing and rolled down the stage towards the audience.
In footage obtained by TMZ.com, the 52 year old is shown getting back on his feet to continue with the set.
Kelly Clarkson made a surprise appearance at the same concert and Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga and her actor boyfriend Taylor Kinney were also in the audience.
Brooks' 11-date joint tour with his wife Trisha Yearwood will continue at the venue on Thursday (11Sep14).
Singer Gwen Stefani was left embarrassed by her kids when they misbehaved during a house visit from U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama. The No Doubt frontwoman hosted a charity event, which Obama and her security detail attended in 2012, and admits she was worried about how her children would act around such important people.
She says, "(Kingston) was maybe like six at the time and he didn't really get it, he knew she was important... but he was so worried about having strangers in the house.... He was like, 'I don't want people in our house that I don't know...'
"So they were like, 'OK, when the first lady gets here, we want all of the children lined up and everyone needs to be standing here for at least 10 minutes waiting,' and I was like, 'OK, good luck, because these kids are not going to stand here for at least 10 minutes.'
"So they're standing there rolling around, it's like chaos and she gets there and she walks in and then the big one... steps on the little one's hand in front of her, then I have to pick him up and I have this pink silk top on and he drools all over it.
"They're, like, screaming and crying and we are trying to take a picture, but she was so awesome. She was like, 'Look, I got kids, I totally get it'."
But Kingston made mummy proud by the day's end when he crafted a gift for the family's distinguished guest.
Stefani adds, "He went into his room and made some clay sculpture and gave it to her at the end and was like, 'I'm sorry'."
Newlywed Angelina Jolie has debuted photos of her surprise nuptials to Brad Pitt, revealing she wore a designer wedding gown featuring artwork by their six children. The Hollywood couple tied the knot during an intimate, secret ceremony at its Chateau Miraval estate in Correns, France on 23 August (14), and made the event a family affair.
In the first images of the ceremony, released to America's People magazine, the Tomb Raider beauty is shown wearing a flowing Atelier Versace wedding gown, designed by the brand's master tailor Luigi Massi.
And Massi helped created a special accessory for Jolie, as her veil was covered with colourful drawings by their kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
Gushing about Massi's work to the publication, she says, "Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress. He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."
As for Pitt, he decided to wear a suit from his closet, complete with a tie borrowed from one of his sons, since the actor forgot to pack his own.
The kids were also involved in the ceremony, with Maddox and Pax walking Jolie down the aisle, Shiloh and Knox serving as ring bearers, and Zahara and Vivienne playing the roles of flower girls.
Jolie and Pitt add, "It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."
Another picture features the entire Jolie-Pitt clan sitting on steps at the estate as they pose in the formal wear for a family portrait, while a photo published in Hello! Magazine shows the couple's first kiss, as the two happily lock lips after exchanging vows.
Jolie and Pitt began dating in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and became engaged in 2012.
It is Pitt's second marriage following his divorce from actress Jennifer Aniston in 2005. Jolie was previously wed to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
