Beyonce's mother has dispelled rumours her daughter's marriage to Jay Z is on the brink of collapse, insisting the couple's relationship is "perfect". Speculation around the couple's marriage has been growing for months and recent rumours suggested the stars would announce their separation following the end of their joint On The Run tour this month (Aug14).
The pair has yet to comment on the story, but the singer's mother Tina has now blasted the claims, insisting the stars are still together and very happy.
She tells TMZ.com, "Haters going be haters and there's nothing we can do about that... everything's perfect."
Beyonce and Jay Z married in 2008. They have a two-year-old daughter named Blue Ivy.
Rapper J.cole has paid tribute to a black teenager killed by a police officer in Missouri by releasing a new song dedicated to him. Darren Wilson shot unarmed Michael Brown, who was suspected of stealing a box of cigars from a suburban St. Louis store, on 9 August (14), and the incident has sparked a series of tense protests between African-Americans and civil rights leaders and officials in the state.
As Governor Jay Nixon, President Barack Obama and Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson join forces in a bid to end days of violence, hip-hop star Cole has released Be Free to voice his frustrations with the deaths of African-American men in the U.S.
In a post on his website, Dreamvillain.com, he writes, "That coulda (sic) been me, easily. It could have been my best friend. I'm tired of being desensitized to the murder of black men. I don't give a f**k if it's by police or peers. This s**t is not normal. I made a song. This is how we feel."
Cole is not the only celebrity to speak out about the incident in Missouri - John Legend, Kerry Washington and Mark Ruffalo have voiced concerns over the treatment of protesters by police following the shooting.
Legend took to Twitter.com to voice his opinion, writing, "I believe these cops are intentionally trying to inflame the situation. They want an excuse. Recall the local cop telling those 'animals' to 'bring it' on (news channel) CNN... He wants a fight.
"Calling us 'animals' has been the language to justify slavery... Dehumanization and racism go together."
Meanwhile, R&B star Frank Ocean took to Tumblr.com to comment on an image of Governor Nixon standing in front of a black woman as he addressed the slaying of Brown and wrote, "You see that black woman standing up there? I wonder if she was called to stand behind the governor because she’s black. I wonder if i’m supposed to think Missouri’s gov’t is pro-black because of her being stood up there with those other black men being all black and everything. I wonder if she was off the clock while she stood up there... then i wonder if she was getting paid for her time off like the guy who shot Michael 8 times."
Embattled hip-hop mogul Damon Dash is demanding $25 million (£14.7 million) from Lee Daniels amid allegations the director failed to honour an investment agreement for his hit movies. Jay Z's former business partner claims he first agreed to pump $2 million (£1.18 million) of his cash into Kevin Bacon's 2004 drama The Woodsman, which Daniels produced, and set up similar deals with the filmmaker for a string of his other projects, including Oscar-winning 2009 release Precious, 2012 thriller The Paperboy and 2013's The Butler.
In exchange for the help with funding, Dash maintains he was promised producing credits on the releases.
However, Dash alleges Daniels didn't hold up his end of the deal and snubbed his credit request, while he also did not receive any return on his investments, reports TMZ.com.
He filed suit in Manhattan Supreme Court, New York on Thursday (14Aug14).
The music mogul has been dogged with financial troubles for several years. The former Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder was evicted from his New York home last year (13) after allegedly falling behind on his rent, while he was also previously slapped with a $2.8 million (£1.65 million) federal tax bill relating to earnings dating back to 2005.
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor insists the identity of the band's new drummer will remain a secret until fans get used to the group's musical development. The rockers unveiled the video for The Negative One earlier this week (beg04Aug14), the first taster of music from their forthcoming fifth album, the name of which is also to be kept secret.
Since the video surfaced, online speculation about who the man behind the drum kit might be has run wild, with Lamb Of God's Chris Adler one suggestion and Jay Weinberg, son of Bruce Springsteen's drummer Max, another proposed possibility.
However, Taylor says the band is determined to let the music do the talking and will not reveal details of the new drummer or album until they feel the time is right.
He tells The Pulse Of Radio, "We're keeping a lot of that under wraps out of fairness. We want the music to speak for itself. We don't want people making up their minds about something before they even know what the music is. Trust me - when the time is right we'll give you the answers you need. That's the way it is."
The mask-wearing metallers parted ways with former drummer Joey Jordison in December (13) for unknown reasons, though Jordison insists he did not quit the band and was blindsided when it was announced he was leaving.
Sure, Guardians of the Galaxy gave us an exciting, fun space adventure and a surprisingly moving relationship between a raccoon and a tree. But according to the Internet, the real gift is that of Chris Pratt: Movie Star.
He's everywhere right now — interviews, talk shows, movie theaters, television screens, .gif sets on Tumblr — all punctuated by the giddy exclamations of a nation head over heels in love. And why shouldn't America revel in the glory that is Pratt? He's goofy, charming, lovable, and humble, the funny guy next door wrapped up in an action-star package. But though this is the biggest wave of Chris Pratt adoration that we've experienced, it's hardly the first time that people have fallen in love with him. You might not realize it, but he's been breaking hearts for years now, thanks to his transition from teen crush to goofy best friend to supporting character to leading man. But is Chris Pratt as Star-Lord really better than all of these Chris Pratts, or did we miss the best Chris Pratt when we weren't paying attention? Let's take a look:
Doe-Eyed High School Boyfriend Chris Pratt (a la Everwood)The WB
This is the original iteration of Chris Pratt, and everyone knows the sequels are never as good as the original. That’s the face of a guy who is bound to grow into a movie star, but right now is going to make your teenage heart melt as the jerk-turned-dream-boyfriend. Have you seen his scenes with Hannah? When you were in high school, all you wanted was for someone to love you like that. All you still want is someone to love you like that. And look at that floppy hair – do any other Chris Pratt’s have that ridiculous hair? No they don’t. That’s why this is the best.
Everyone's Chubby Best Friend Chris Pratt (a la Parks and Recreation)NBC
We’re glad that people are finally waking up to Chris Pratt, but frankly, we feel a bit bad for them. See, they missed the best Chris Pratt of all: chubby, accident-prone, lovable doofus Chris Pratt. You want charm? He’s got it. A brilliant sense of humor? Check. Dashing good looks? Always there. A relationship with both his on and off-screen wives that will make you swoon? Still here. On top of all that, chubby Chris Pratt is the kind of guy who will happily sit on the couch with you to binge-watch Netflix, buy you Chipotle whenever you’re craving it and he won’t care at all about what you look like, because he loves you no matter what.
So Badass It's Scary Chris Pratt (a la Zero Dark Thirty)Columbia Pictures
Sure, Chris Pratt elitists can complain that earlier versions are superior, but the truth remains that ripped Chris Pratt is the best one of all. All of those amazing traits that the other Chris Pratt’s have – the humor, the humble perspective, the charm – are still here, but now they’re covered in the most incredible abs you’ve ever seen. Now he’s a serious actor. No more running into ambulances, he’s got serious business to take care of, and when he’s done, he’ll swoop you up into his toned, dramatic actor arms and carry you off into a terrorist-free sunset.
Space Cowboy Chris Pratt (a la Guardians of the Galaxy)Walt Disney Pictures/Marvel
There’s a reason everyone hopped on the Chris Pratt bandwagon after seeing him as Star-Lord: this is the best version of Chris Pratt. He’s cocky, he’s tough, he’s suave, he’s clever and he’s got a heart of gold and the coolest friends in the galaxy. He’s the best kind of action hero, the kind that has a wisecrack for every occasion and the sweet, sweet dance moves that are required in tense situations. Star-Lord is Han Solo for a new generation, the kind of character everyone wants to be and everyone wants to be with. It’s everything you love about the other Chris Pratts, plus a super cool fighter plane.
Moustachioed Chris Pratt in High-Waisted Pants (a la Her)Warner Bros. Pictures via Everett Collection
Sure, he only has a few minutes of screen-time, but those few minutes show off the best Chris Pratt we’ve seen yet. He’s sensitive enough to enjoy a well-written love letter, kind-hearted enough to accept his friend’s non-traditional relationship, funny enough to break the tension, attractive enough to pull off that mustache-and-pants combination and – best of all – emotionally stable enough to be in a relationship with an actual human being. Imagine the weekends in Catalina with him. Would any of those other Chris Pratts take you on a romantic trip to Catalina?
Chris Pratt: French Braider, Heart Breaker YouTube/Entertainment Tonight
Just when you thought Chris Pratt couldn’t get any better he goes and braids an intern’s hair. Not just any braid – a French braid. Most women we know can’t manage a decent French braid... and there Chris Pratt is, effortlessly plaiting her hair into an artfully-messy style that people would pay good money for in a salon. He does it all without breaking his concentration, answering questions just as easily as he would if he weren’t breaking the hearts of everyone watching. And then, just when it seems like you’ll finally be okay, he chastises the interviewer for attempting to tie it off with a rubber band, because this Chris Pratt is the best Chris Pratt.
Chris Pratt, Family Man WENN/Brian To
Chris Pratt is at his best when he’s with or talking about his family, by far. All of his insanity and goofiness fades away to showcase all of the affection he has for them, and there is nothing in this world better than a hot man who loves his family. Have you seen the way he looks at Anna Faris? That’s the dream right there. How about the way he talks about his son, Jack? It’s heartwarming and charming and adorable, while still allowing him the opportunity to make poop jokes. It’s the perfect combination of everything that makes Chris Pratt wonderful, with an extra helping of smiley, adorable baby and beautiful, talented wife. This, right here, is the dream.

Beyonce and Jay Z's joint summer tour has grossed more than $100 million (£59 million), despite reports of poor ticket sales. The hip-hop supercouple's On the Run Tour ends its U.S. leg on Wednesday (06Aug14) in San Francisco, California, and after nearly two months on the road, the trek as been labelled a success.
Vice president of North American touring for concert promoter Live Nation, Omar Al-Joulani, tells People magazine the gigs sold at more than 90 per cent capacity, insisting all parties involved with the trek are "winning".
The concerts rake in more than $5.2 million (£3 million) a night, and fill an average of 45,000 seats per performance.
Al-Joulani adds, "These events are driven by content and demand, and being dramatic and creative and putting out content people want to see. The two of them are as about creative as you can get, and it was pretty brilliant to watch them work. The show itself is spectacular.
"It was a very successful tour, and we're pleased to have that big gross number at the end."
Beyonce and Jay Z are set to take the On the Run Tour to Paris, France for the only international dates on 12 and 13 September (14). The shows will be filmed for an upcoming special on America's HBO network.

George R. R. Martin - @GRRM
Until recently, the Game Of Thrones author was not verified on Twitter. Some speculated that these cryptic tweets could only be the work of the real GRRM, but it was just a clever ruse.

As we expect Betty White is in real life, her parody account is up to date on all of Hollywood’s latest drama. With a decent amount of Beverly Hills, 90210 tied in.

Jay Z's mum has followed her rapper son into the restaurant business by opening her own eatery in Newark, New Jersey. Gloria Carter celebrated the launch of Diamondz N Da Ruff with her famous son and daughter-in-law, Beyonce, on 26 July (14) with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a champagne toast inside the establishment, according to TMZ.com.
This isn't the first business venture for Carter - she also serves as the president of the 99 Problems hitmaker's college scholarship charity, the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.
Jay Z opened the first location in his sports lounge and restaurant franchise, The 40/40 Club, in New York in 2003 and has since expanded with venues at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia.

Superstar Beyonce has made reference to the infamous elevator fight between her husband Jay Z and sister Solange Knowles in May (14) in a new song featuring Nicki Minaj.
The trio hit headlines earlier this year (14) when surveillance footage emerged showing Knowles lashing out at her brother-in-law Jay Z as they left a party at a New York hotel following the Met Gala.
The Drunk In Love hitmaker later issued a statement insisting her husband and younger sister had "worked through" their disagreement, while Knowles recently claimed she was "at peace" with the incident.
Both siblings stopped short of revealing the reason for the bust-up, but late on Saturday (02Aug14), Beyonce released a remix to her song Flawless, featuring Minaj, in which she brushes off the incident, singing, "We escalate, up in this b**ch like elevators/Of course sometimes s**t go down when there's a billion dollars on an elevator (sic)."
Actor John Goodman is in talks to re-team with his Argo co-star Bryan Cranston in the Dalton Trumbo biopic.
The Hangover Part III star is in negotiations to take on the role of film producer Frank King, who hired the blacklisted screenwriter to pen scripts for his production company, according to TheWrap.com.
Trumbo, which will be directed by Meet the Fockers' Jay Roach, will also star Helen Mirren as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper.
The Oscar winner, who wrote 1960's Spartacus and Exodus, became a Hollywood outcast in 1947, after he refused to testify in front of the U.S. Congress during an investigation of Communist influences in the movie industry. He was sent to prison in 1950 for contempt.
