Mick Jagger and actress Ellen Barkin were among the mourners at tragic designer and stylist L'Wren Scott's Hollywood funeral on Tuesday (25Mar14). Jagger, the fashion icon's longtime boyfriend, helped plan the send off with members of Scott's family.
The private funeral was held at the Hollywood Forever Funeral Home in Los Angeles.
Jagger and Scott's brother Randall Bambrough were among those who shared their memories of the 49-year-old designer, who took her own life in her New York City apartment on 17 March (14), at the service.
The rock star's daughters Karis and Jade read a poem and Psalm 139, respectively, while his other kids Elizabeth, Georgia, James and Gabriel were also in attendance.
Scott's niece Hannah Bambrough read a Shakespeare sonnet and longtime Rolling Stones backing singer Bernard Fowler performed Will the Circle Be Unbroken, accompanied by Dave Stewart.
Grieving rocker Sir Mick Jagger has asked the media to respect his privacy after returning to the U.S. to begin planning the funeral of his longtime lover L'Wren Scott. The veteran musician had been in Perth, Australia preparing to kick off the Rolling Stones' tour Down Under when he learned his fashion designer girlfriend had committed suicide by hanging herself in her New York apartment on Monday (17Mar14).
The band has subsequently postponed dates in Australia and New Zealand to allow Jagger time to mourn, and, on Thursday (20Mar14), he arrived in Los Angeles.
A statement released by the star's representative reads: "Mick Jagger has arrived in Los Angeles in order to be with members of his family. He will join his daughter Karis, an L.A. resident, and daughters Elizabeth & Georgia May, who are also with him for support.
"Later today Jade Jagger and son James will also join him whilst he makes arrangements for L'Wren Scott's funeral.
"Privacy for him and his family during this very difficult time is requested."
Jagger, who is expected to head to the Big Apple in the coming days to help Scott's relatives with memorial plans, broke his silence about the designer's shock death on Tuesday (18Mar14), when he posted a message online, in which he wrote, "I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves."
The couple had been dating since 2001 and had reportedly just purchased a luxury home together in New York.

Sir Mick Jagger's daughter Jade has raised $580,000 (£362,500) by auctioning off a painting given to her as a child by Andy Warhol. The legendary artist gifted the piece to Jade in 1981, when she was only 10 years old. Warhol used to babysit for her at his New York City studio when she was young and handed her the painting following her parent's divorce.
Jade, now 42, decided to part ways with the canvas, which features a dedication to her and the date '81, and it was estimated to fetch up to $400,000 (£250,000) when it went up for auction at Sotheby's auction house in London on Thursday (13Feb14).
The painting - a red, pink and gold dollar sign made in acrylic and silk-screen ink - exceeded expectations by reaching $580,000 (£362,500).

It means the Rolling Stones rocker is likely to welcome a fifth grandchild in May (14) months after becoming a great-grandfather for the first time.
Announcing her news on Instagram.com, Jade posted a photograph of her baby bump alongside the message, "Happy to announce this granny is going to become a mummy I'm 6 months pregnant xx double whammy this year."
"He said, 'Well done.' I imagine it's nice to be a great-granddad, although I'm not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one. I call him Mick - I wouldn't start calling him grandpa." Sir Mick Jagger's pregnant granddaughter Assisi reveals the ageing rocker is excited to welcome a new addition to the family. The 21 year old, daughter of jewellery designer Jade Jagger, is due to give birth next year (14). The baby will make the Rolling Stones icon a great-grandfather for the first time. News of her pregnancy was first reported in September (13).
The Rolling Stones star Sir Mick Jagger is to become a great-grandfather next year (14). Socialite Assisi is the eldest child of Jagger's daughter Jade.
A source tells the newspaper, "She (Assisi) and (her partner) Alex are thrilled and broke the news to their immediate families last week. Jade was a little taken aback at first, not least because it means she will be a grandmother by the age of 42... Mick is delighted and has no qualms about being a great-grandfather. He's been joking about becoming a great, great, granddad and still performing!"

The rocker has revealed he'll be soaking up the atmosphere at the tent city long after he leaves the stage - he's hoping to stage a family picnic and have a "good time".
He tells Q magazine, "I've got nothing else to do on Glasto weekend, and I want to spend some time with my family and have a good time as well."
His daughter Jade is planning to set up "yurts" at the festival and Jagger is hoping to do a little exploring: "I don't need them to show me the cool places to go. I'm sure I can find some places of my own that are much cooler."
The rocker insists he's not a stranger to camping and he has often set up a tent "on the beach with my kids in the Caribbean," adding, "It's just the same as Brighton - there's just less chance of bad weather."
He adds, "We went camping all the time when I was a kid. Camping in France was our family holiday and we brought baked beans with us, as we didn't trust that fancy foreign food. We were so totally English."
