Former The Hills star Holly Montag has tied the knot. The former reality TV regular exchanged vows with fiance Richie Wilson on Saturday (13Sep14) in her hometown of Crested Butte, Colorado.
Montag tells People magazine that she "married the love of my life" and the ceremony was "magical and intimate."
Montag's sister, Heidi Pratt, took to Twitter.com on Sunday (14Sep14) to congratulate her sibling, and wrote, "Yesterday was the most beautiful wedding I could imagine! Wishing you all the blessings and joy! Love you!"
Montag announced her engagement to Wilson last October (13), a day after her The Hills co-star, Lauren Conrad revealed her own engagement to lawyer boyfriend William Tell.
Ironically, Conrad and Tell also wed on Saturday in Santa Ynez, California. The happy couple was surrounded by family and close friends, including Laguna Beach and The Hills co-star Lo Bosworth, who served as a bridesmaid.
Reality TV star-turned-fashion designer Lauren Conrad celebrated her final days as a single lady at a bridal shower at her Los Angeles home this weekend (30-31Aug14).
The former The Hills star is preparing to wed law student graduate William Tell and she followed up her bachelorette party in Mexico in June (14) with another intimate gathering over America's Labor Day holiday weekend as she counts down to her big day.
She shared a series of snaps from the party with fans on Instagram.com, including an image of a napkin printed with the words, "Almost Mrs. Tell", and wrote, "Thank you to my amazing friends and family for the best shower ever!"
The couple announced its engagement last October (13).
British pop star Cheryl Cole was axed from The X Factor USA after a bust-up with boss Simon Cowell about a bizarre outfit she wore for her debut. The music mogul took his pal Cole with him when he launched his hit talent search in the States in 2011 and hoped she could repeat her U.K. role as a popular mentor and judge.
However, within three weeks, Cole's American dream had crumbled and she left the show amid fears she would not connect with U.S. viewers.
Now Cowell has admitted her departure was sparked by an argument over a weird purple and orange outfit the pop star wore for her U.S. X Factor debut.
In an interview with Radio Times, he says, "There was so much expectation on the show in America, and I definitely wasn't myself. I was uptight. When I saw her I didn't recognise her. Literally. The hair and outfit were crazy, just totally crazy.
"I asked her manager, 'What's she wearing, what's happened to her hair?' He was defensive about it. I haven't a clue why she turned up like that.
"We then did the first day of auditions, and she was nervous, shy, not in her comfort zone. She'd put on a bit of weight, but not loads. That wasn't the issue. The only way I can describe it is that it wasn't Cheryl sitting in that seat. She'd lost her confidence...
"(Later) I called her and said, 'Look, it's not going great, to be honest,' then I mentioned what she wore and she turned on me. If I could go back in time I would have kept her on the show. It was stupid doing what I did. I didn't sack her personally. That was the second biggest mistake I made."
Cowell and Cole have since made up and put the incident behind them, and the former Girls Aloud singer is even trying to convince him to marry Lauren Silverman, the mother of his son Eric.
Cole tells the publication, "I'm going to have a word with him about getting married. He jokes about being too tight (miserly) to get married but I don't think he is. He's very generous."
In 2012, Cole sued producers of The X Factor USA for $2.3 million (£1.3 million) over her sacking and received undisclosed damages as a settlement. She has since rejoined the U.K. version of the programme.
"My friend Ed Nelson has passed. Too much sadness all in a bunch. Taking a pause and a deep breath." Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy remembers his actor pal, who died on Saturday (09Aug14), aged 85. News of Nelson's death emerged on Wednesday (13Aug14), a day after the passing of his Star Trek co-star Arlene Martel, and two days after the loss of Robin Williams. Movie great Lauren Bacall has also passed away this week.
Swedish dance star Avicii has called off an upcoming Independence Day (04Jul14) gig. The DJ was due to kick off America's Fourth of July (14) holiday weekend (04-06Jul14) by performing at the Governors Beach Club on Governor's Island in New York as part of a promotion with fashion brand Denim & Supply Ralph Lauren and department store Macy's.
Fans were offered free tickets when they spent $75 (£47) on Denim & Supply products at a Macy's store, but the gig has now been called off.
A statement posted on the clothing brand's website offers an apology to both the DJ and his fans.
It reads, "We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers, Avicii, and Avicii's fans... Due to limited and restricted access on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on the evening of July 4th, the Avicii concert, scheduled to take place on Governor's Island, will be postponed to a new date. Please check back for details on a new show date and venue as we work to ensure a more enjoyable experience for all concert-goers."
Avicii hit headlines earlier this week (beg23Jun14) when dozens of concert-goers were hospitalised following his show in Boston, Massachusetts. Around 50 fans were treated by paramedics on site at the TD Garden venue, while another 36 were taken to nearby hospitals. Many of the cases were reportedly caused by dehydration, while a police spokesman suggested alcohol and drugs could have played a part.
Country star Carrie Underwood has embarked on a trip to Haiti as part of a children's charity mission. The Blown Away hitmaker joined forces with officials from the non-profit Danita's Children organisation, which rescues and provides support for orphaned children and kids in poverty, and headed to the Caribbean nation earlier this week (begs16Jun14) to lend a hand at the group's medical centre.
Underwood has yet to share details about her trip with fans, but Nashville, Tennessee resident Rhae Lauren revealed the singer's involvement on Tuesday (17Jun14), when she tweeted a photo of the star with a group of volunteers on a "dental mission trip".
In the accompanying caption, she wrote, "The girls of the trip getting ready to cross the D.R. (Dominican Republic)/Haiti boarder this morning. Excited for our first day. So proud of everyone and how much we were able to accomplish! @danitaschildren #haiti #dentalmissiontrip (sic)".
Paul Walker's death came at a terrible time for his Fast & Furious franchise co-star Dwayne Johnson, because the hulking action man was nursing a painful hernia when he got the awful news of the tragic actor's car crash. Johnson was preparing for surgery on his groin last November (13) after telling his Hercules director Brett Ratner he'd have to hold up the shoot when he got the bad news.
The Pain & Gain star tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I came in for a check-up and pulled my pants down, and the doctor goes, 'Oh! That's a hernia...' Your abdominal wall gets weak and your organs push through. The doctor said, 'You need to lie down', and slowly starts to push my intestines back in my stomach. He said, 'I would really recommend surgery'."
That news came just two weeks before he and Ratner were set to start filming the historic blockbuster in Hungary.
Ratner tells the publication, "You think automatically because he's (Johnson) a bodybuilder, he can do that stuff, but he had to get up at two or three in the morning, work out, eat 10 times a day. He had to drink tremendous fluids to keep hydrated. I was always worried about burning him out because it's hard to maintain that level of energy. The crazy part is, three weeks before we started shooting, he whips his groin muscle and gets a hernia."
Johnson returned to his adopted Florida to rest up, and days later he heard the shocking news that his pal Walker had died in a fiery car crash in California.
He recalls, "I was driving with (girlfriend) Lauren when she immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew. I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath.
"We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength... Then, once we got home, we started bawling."
Actor Aaron Paul has heaped praise on his wife after she was honoured for her charity work on Saturday (10May14). The Breaking Bad star was by his model partner Lauren Parsekian's side as she was feted for her anti-bullying work at the Open Hearts Foundation's fourth Annual Gala, held at actress Jane Seymour's Malibu, California home.
After she accepted an award for her dedication to the Kind Campaign, which urges youngsters to be nicer to each other, Paul said, "I couldn't be more proud of her. I feel so blessed to be able to share this evening with her - let's be honest, I feel blessed to share any evening with her. "The back of my head hurts from smiling so much. I always sit back and applaud her on a day-to-day basis. It's nice to see everyone else applaud her tonight."
The couple wed in May last year (13) and Paul insists walking down the aisle was the best decision of his life: "Marriage is the greatest thing that has ever happened. Look how cute she is. It's been an amazing year. It's flown by."
Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter's family members missed out on the happiest day of his life when the singer wed fiancee Lauren Kitt earlier this month (12Apr14). The I Want It That Way hitmaker and his longtime love exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, but Carter's side of the family was noticeably missing among the 100 guests.
Carter tells In Touch magazine, "My family's always had a complicated dynamic. At the end of the day, the people who love us were there." The 34 year old also noted that his younger brother, Aaron, was due to serve as a groomsman, but missed the wedding because of flight delays. Carter's bandmates gave the star a big reason to smile on his big day as they stepped in to make sure the nuptials ran smoothly, each delivering a heartfelt toast to the newlyweds.
He says, "These guys are my family." Carter famously fell out with members of his immediate family after they partly blamed him for the death of his sister Leslie, who died following a drug overdose in 2012. Carter chose not to attend the funeral, revealing last year (13), "I actually got the phone call from my father that she had passed. Immediately the conversation turned into not about her death and not about the actual passing and what had occurred, but more about themselves. And then I started to get blamed by the rest of the family. "I have a large family and they all went there - they were blaming me for the death. "The message from them was that if you had been there for her, she would be alive today... I felt it was unfair. Especially with all the things I have done... for them."
Pop star Aaron Carter was forced to miss his big brother Nick's wedding this weekend (12-13Apr14) after experiencing a flight delay. Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter exchanged vows with fiancee Lauren Kitt in front of friends and family in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday (12Apr14), but 26-year-old Aaron was unable to make the ceremony after rushing from an appearance at the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C. earlier in the day.
He posted a photo of himself stuck on a plane on America's East Coast on Saturday, alongside the caption, "Really p**sed off that I missed my brothers (sic) wedding today.. I hope he doesn't hate me .. I tried to get there... I'm sorry bro @nickcarter #technicalProblems (sic)".
Meanwhile, Nick's Backstreet Boys bandmate A.J. McLean admits he was emotional as he watched his longtime pal tie the knot after his previous struggles with alcohol and drug issues.
He tells People.com, "It was bittersweet. We're so, so proud of him. He's been through hell and back as we all have, once in our life here or there. And you know, we're all family. We're all brothers."
