Singer Randy Jackson was forced to skip a planned visit to his brother Michael's grave on the fourth anniversary of his death on Tuesday (25Jun13) after he was struck down with a throat infection. Fans of the King of Pop gathered at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale, California to pay their respects to the late superstar and Jackson reveals he had hoped to join them at the grave site - but he's suffering from strep throat.
In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "Thinking about my brother on this day. Thank U everyone 4 your love and support and 4 the beautiful displaye (sic) of flowers at ForestLawn.
"I know he would love it. I wish I could be there with you but unfortunately I've been sick with strep throat. Thank you again for your endless love and support".
A group of the Thriller hitmaker's devotees arranged to have 13,447 red roses delivered to his grave to mark the anniversary.
Michael Jackson died from a prescription drug overdose on 25 June, 2009, and his brothers Jackie, Marlon, Tito and Jermaine have issued a touching statement to TMZ.com expressing their grief on the anniversary of their sibling's passing.
The note reads, "Four years ago today we lost one of the greatest musicians, entertainers, and icons the world has ever known. But to us, Michael was first and foremost our brother. We carry his spirit with us always, and we love and miss him every day."
The Jackson family had reason to celebrate on Sunday (16Jun13) as they gathered for the wedding of Tito Jackson's son. Taj Jackson's nuptials in Encino, California, brought together his grandfather Joe, aunt La Toya and uncles Tito and Jermaine of The Jackson 5.
Taj's cousin Paris, the daughter of late superstar Michael Jackson, was expected to be released from UCLA Medical Center, where she has been receiving treatment following her apparent suicide bid on 5 June (13), to attend the ceremony, but the 15 year old did not turn up, according to E! News.
However, the excited groom was determined to enjoy his big day - he tweeted, "On my way to the biggest and most important performance of my life. My wedding. Wish me luck."
The famous family has had a tumultuous few weeks - a U.S. judge has ordered an investigation into Paris' reported suicide bid to determine whether the welfare of the King of Pop's daughter has been compromised, while Michael's mum Katherine is currently in the midst of a legal case accusing bosses at AEG Live of being responsible for the Thriller superstar's death in 2009.
A lawyer for Michael Jackson's mother Katherine has requested privacy for the family as the King of Pop's daughter Paris recovers from an apparent suicide attempt. The teenager was reportedly stretchered out of her Calabasas, California home in the early hours of Wednesday (05Jun13) after paramedics responded to an emergency call regarding "a possible overdose".
Paris Jackson's biological mum, Debbie Rowe, has since revealed to U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight that her girl was "rushed to the hospital with cuts on her wrist", adding that she has had "a lot going on".
The youngster's condition is now stable and Katherine's attorney Sandra Ribera has asked the media to allow the child to recover in peace.
A statement issued by Ribera reads, "Paris is physically fine and getting appropriate medical attention. Being a sensitive 15 year old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."
Paris' uncles Jackie, Marlon and Tito Jackson have also released a statement, which reads: "Thank you for the outpouring of concern and support for Paris. She is safe and doing fine. We truly appreciate you respecting our family privacy at this time."
The 15 year old hinted at personal troubles on her Twitter.com page prior to her hospitalisation, asking why "tears are salty" and quoting lyrics from The Beatles classic Yesterday, writing: "Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay".
The aspiring actress, her brothers Prince Michael and Blanket, and their grandmother Katherine Jackson are currently in the midst of a wrongful death lawsuit against the bosses of AEG Live, accusing them of ignoring the tragic superstar's health issues prior to his doomed This Is It comeback concerts.
The fourth anniversary of the Thriller hitmaker's death will be marked on 25 June (13).
Michael Jackson's family is tired of Wade Robson slandering MJ's name. Jackson's nephew Taj (son of Michael's brother Tito and the late Delores V. Martes Jackson) went on a Twitter rant Thursday calling out Robson as a liar. Taj claimed that he knew that Robson is a liar because he is the molestation "survivor."
According to Taj's tweets, he was sexually abused by one of his uncles on his mother's side of the family, and his uncle Michael helped him to cope with the travesties. Taj even shared a letter that Michael reportedly wrote to his mother talking about bringing awareness to child molestation incidents that can occur in a family.
"My uncle was a support system for me and my mom," Taj wrote. "That is how I KNOW Wade is lying. Because I AM a survivor."
Earlier this month, Robson claimed that Michael Jackson had molested him as a child. But Taj thinks that Robson is just after money and fame. "I hate that Wade made me do this, this way. But since my uncle Michael is no longer here to defend himself. I will," Taj tweeted. "Those who seek only fame & $ will do or say anything they can to get it. Those who seek or fight for the truth should be equally determined."

Jermaine Jackson was left stunned when his nephew revealed he had been molested by a family member as a child, because he had never heard the claims before. Tito Jackson's son Taj made the startling revelation on Thursday (16May13), claiming he was abused by an uncle on his mother's side in light of the latest controversy surrounding his late superstar uncle Michael Jackson.
Choreographer Wade Robson recently asked a California judge for permission to make a late creditor's claim against Jackson's estate, alleging he was abused by the King Of pop between the ages of seven and 14.
Using his admission to slam Robson's accusations, Taj wrote on Twitter.com, "I was sexually abuse (sic). By an uncle on my mom's side of the family when I was a kid. My uncle was a support system for me and my mom... That is how I KNOW Wade is lying."
Jermaine was asked about the admission by editors at TMZ.com, and was left visibly shocked by the revelation.
He replied, "I've never heard that s**t... I've never, ever heard that. Where is this coming from?"
Tito Jackson's son is convinced choreographer Wade Robson is lying about allegations he was molested by the King of Pop - because he was sexually assaulted as a child and received nothing but sympathy and support from the Thriller hitmaker. Robson recently asked a California judge to allow him to make a late creditor's claim against the Grammy winner's estate after alleging he was abused by Michael Jackson between the ages of seven and 14 at the superstar's Las Vegas home and Neverland Ranch.
His claims have been dismissed by Jackson estate lawyer Howard Weitzman, who pointed out Robson denied he was ever abused by the pop star during his 2005 child molestation case, as well as attorney Tom Mesereau, who represented the tragic 50 year old during the case and believes the dancer is just out to make money and gain publicity.
Now Taj Jackson has waded into the controversy by dropping a bombshell about his past on Twitter.com on Thursday (16May13), just hours after Robson appeared on U.S. morning show Today to tell his story, stating his uncle's reaction to his own traumatic experience is proof enough he would have never preyed on a youngster.
In a series of posts, he wrote, "What people will $ay and do for money and to $tay relevant is $ickening. De$perate times call for De$perate mea$ures. I will not sit back and let someone flat out lie about my uncle. PERIOD. I am writing these words knowing that the minute I press send, my life will never be the same afterwards…
"I was sexually abuse (sic). By an uncle on my mom's side of the family when I was a kid. My uncle was a support system for me and my mom... That is how I KNOW Wade is lying. Because I AM a survivor. My hands are still trembling. Don't forget I was living at Neverland when Wade testified during my uncle's case. I sat there and ate dinner with him and his family. I will not let them smear my Uncle's legacy.
"I don't want to go on TV. I don't want publicity, I just want the truth. I always told my uncle Michael that I would take a bullet for him. I mean it today just as much as I meant it back then. I hate that Wade made me do this, this way. But since my uncle Michael is no longer here to defend himself, I will. Make no mistake. Since my uncle Michael is no longer here to defend himself, I WILL. Thank you everyone for the support."
The judge overseeing Michael Jackson's wrongful death trial in Los Angeles has ruled that only one of the late singer's siblings can attend court with family matriarch Katherine Jacksonat any one time. Janet, Jermaine, Jackie, Rebbie, Tito, Randy and LaToya Jackson are all expected to appear as witnesses during the civil trial between Katherine and concert promoters AEG Live, which began in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday (29Apr13), and defence lawyers argued on Tuesday (30Apr13) that there was "a risk in allowing any of them in the courtroom".
They requested that Randy Jackson, who was attending the trial with his 82-year-old mother, was asked to leave the court, according to CNN.com, but Katherine Jackson's lawyer Brian Panish told judge Yvette Palazuelos that the family matriarch needed one of her children to sit with her each day.
Palazuelos ruled, "He can remain, but you cannot have five in the courtroom."
Katherine Jackson is suing bosses at AEG over allegations they were negligent in ignoring life-threatening health concerns about her son when they lined up 50 This Is It comeback shows in London. She is reportedly seeking more than $40 billion for loss of future earnings and other damages, and wants AEG bosses held responsible for hiring Conrad Murray, the medic who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for causing the singer's 2009 death.
AEG lawyer Marvin Putnam revealed in court on Monday (29Apr13) that Jackson family members are expected to testify about their alleged failed attempts to intervene with their brother's reported drug issues and their lack of knowledge about what was happening.
The trial is expected to last several weeks.
A Los Angeles judge has approved a request from Michael Jackson's estate executors to award the late star's nephew financial compensation for taking care of the King of Pop's children. A California judge awarded Tito Jackson's son, T.J., and mother Katherine co-guardianship of the Thriller hitmaker's kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket, last July (12) following a major family feud, which began when the matriarch was reported missing during a 10-day vacation.
The 34 year old, who is married and has three children of his own, has allegedly not received any money to help cover the cost of raising his cousins, and in March (13), estate officials filed legal papers asking that he be handed $9,000 (£5,625)-a-month in parental support, stating, "The amount of time each week he dedicates to his co-guardianship duties, is an impediment to T.J. pursuing his own career and other income generating activities."
According to TMZ.com, the request was approved last week (13Apr13) by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge, who ruled, "(T.J.) performs valuable services for the benefit of the children and that it is in their best interests that he continue to do so."
Michael Jackson's brother Tito has been accused of letting down hundreds of kids by failing to appear at a talent show in Detroit, Michigan last weekend (13-14Apr13). Tito Jackson reportedly signed up to audition 200 local children as part of the This Is It! Talent Search competition, but organisers allege the star didn't turn up for event in Detroit last Saturday (13Apr13).
Darrell Strickland, a promoter behind the contest, claims Jackson reneged on his promise and he now wants the star to hand back his fee, telling TMZ.com, "Over 200 kids were there expecting to see Tito and were all upset about him not being there. We really promoted this event... And now that he didn't show up, I want my money back."
Having a completely free Saturday is a treat, and an unfortunate rarity once you reach the age of, say, 25. Luckily for the Happy Endings gang, they had a Sabado to spend in whichever way they desired — and, because it was them, the day ended up being bats***t insane.
Tonight's episode went with the classic A,B,C plot structure, with three duos getting into various degrees and types of trouble. Penny and Jane, who probably had my favorite plot, endured the wacky world of car dealerships (or, Penny endured dealing with Jane in the wacky world of car dealerships). Alex and Dave apartment-hunted with guest star Rachael Harris (The Hangover), and Brad and Max tried to spend a Brad day, Max's way (AKA, cheap). Things, shockingly, did not go as planned.
But let's back up, because we need to address the photo above: We didn't get a Halloween episode, maybe cause last years ah-mahz-ing one would be hard to top, but we did get a peak at the gang's costumes in the cold open. In case you're wondering, yes, that is the Jackson 5 as marionettes: Alex is Michael, Jane is Jackie, Penny is Tito, Max is Marlon, Brad is Joe, and, of course, Zach is La Toya. ("La Toya. Why you so stupid, girl?") It would have been nice to see them do their thing at a Halloween party, but, hey — maybe next year.
The group then got together for a Saturday brunch, which — as Max announced with a resounding "you go to hell, girl!" — was subpar, since Jane and Brad had to cut back on their formerly expansive events budget. It seemed like everyone would spend the day together, but when Alex and Dave announced their apartment-hunt, and Penny mysteriously peaced out, the group split up for three VERY different Saturdays.
I must admit that I have a special soft spot for Eliza Coupe (Jane), and seeing her in her element — the car dealership — was wonderful. The added kicker that Penny was using her the whole time for a fake emotional-breakdown was especially funny, but I have to make this crystal clear: Everyone needs (and deserves) a Jane when buying a car. My Jane got me a 2010 Mazda 3 (in 2010) for zero down, $211 a month, with iPod dock and Bluetooth, using the same walk out the door, give em' hell routine Jane used in this episode. I barely had to do any talking. This person is now my ex-boyfriend, so if anyone knows anyone like this, please leave your digits in the comments. I'll totally call you. (Aside: I was, at first, dreading that the car dealership scenes would turn into one giant, awkward product placement à la last week's New Girl, but thankfully this was not the case.) The scene with the ridiculously long wait for the "Car Czar" was perfect and ridiculously true, and showed Jane in her true Type-A element. Also really enjoyed the nerdy literature comments, though reading Hunger Games and Harry Potter is not, I repeat, NOT for nerds.
In B-plot (or A-plot? They were all sort of the same) land, Alex and Dave decided, rather quickly, to move in together. They hired Harris — who showed them some stellar "Chicago" apartments (do these kids even work?) — but were clearly having second thoughts about the move, since every place had something wrong with it. (My favorite? Too Shia LaBeouffy. A valid concern.) Eventually, when Harris called them out on their relationship issues, they signed a lease — which should mark a fun, and interesting, new chapter for the group. Who can Max manipulate into living with him? Will Penny find a new galpal? How will Alex and Dave round 2 even work out? Exciting/disastrous times ahead!
Finally, Brad was feeling blue because he, in his unemployed state, could no longer enjoy the perfect Saturday — a meal, clothes shopping, a workout with his trainer, and a steam room — and he turned to the exact wrong person, Max, for help. "Welcome to Max world!" "Max World" apparently includes manipulating AA, Overeaters Anonymous, and Sexaholics Anonymous meetings for the free food (and condoms), signing up for cell phone plans for free T-shirts, punching beefcakes and having them run after him for a good run, and standing over a city vent for free steam. Of course, between the cheap T-shirt and the face paint and the steam vent, the guys looked more than a little homeless — and Brad, unfortunately, ran into a former coworker who clearly pitied him. It was a bummer, but made Brad ultimately realize that he wants a job somewhere in the middle of his old one — a zillion hours a week, no personal/family life — and his current life, Max World. He learned this at a child's birthday party that they crashed, and Max soon insulted said child, so that brought some Happy Endings flair to an uncharacteristically serious scene.
