Actress Elisabeth Moss is set to lead the cast of the Broadway revival of The Heidi Chronicles. The Mad Men star will play the titular role of Heidi Holland in the new version of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by the late Wendy Wasserstein.
The production will mark Moss' second stint on the Great White Way, following her 2008 debut in David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, alongside Raul Esparza and Jeremy Piven.
Joining Moss is American Pie star Jason Biggs and Broadway actors Bryce Pinkham and Tracee Chimo.
The Heidi Chronicles is slated to open in February 2015.
The director of Taylor Swift's new Shake It Off video has fired back at criticism suggesting the promo promoted African-American stereotypes. Scenes in which Swift appears alongside and underneath 'twerking' dancers, have upset some people, who claim she is simply poking fun at black culture.
Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt went so far as to call the video "inherently offensive and ultimately harmful" in a social media post earlier this week (beg18Aug14).
He added, "It's perpetuating black stereotypes to the same demographic of white girls who hide their prejudice by proclaiming their love of the culture."
Now, director Mark Romanek is fighting back, stating, "I think, if Earl Sweatshirt was open-minded enough to take the four minutes to watch it, he might see what the larger, humanistic, and utterly colour-blind message was intended to be."
Romanek, who directed the stylised black and white video for Jay-Z's 99 Problems, tells Vulture, "I'm a fan of his and I think he's a really interesting artist. But he stated clearly that he hadn't seen the video and didn't even intend to watch it. So, respectfully, that sort of invalidates his observations from the get-go.
"And it's this one uninformed tweet that got reported on and rehashed, which started this whole 'controversy'. We simply choose styles of dance that we thought would be popular and amusing and cast the best dancers that were presented to us without much regard to race or ethnicity.
"If you look at it carefully, it's a massively inclusive piece. It's very, very innocently and positively intentioned. And - let's remember - it's a satirical piece. It's playing with a whole range of music-video tropes and cliches and stereotypes."
Sir Paul McCartney had a mountain renamed in his honour during his trip to Montana this week (beg04Aug14). The Beatles legend performed a concert at the Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana on Tuesday (05Aug14), and bosses at the University of Montana teamed with city officials to mark the occasion by changing the name of local landmark Mount Sentinel to Mount McCartney.
The honour lasted for 24 hours and during that time, the large white 'M' visible on the mountain stood for McCartney.
University president Royce C. Engstrom says in a statement, "We are thrilled to have a legend such as Paul McCartney playing in our community."
Love or hate Twitter, you can't deny that celebrity parody accounts are it's best creation. There are thousands of accounts out there, and most of them suck, but there are some precious gems. Believe us when we say, the really funny Drake parodies are so worth wading through endless #DrakesTheTypeOfGuy accounts.
George R. R. Martin - @GRRM
Until recently, the Game Of Thrones author was not verified on Twitter. Some speculated that these cryptic tweets could only be the work of the real GRRM, but it was just a clever ruse.

Lord Voldemort - @Lord_Voldemort7
Even the Dark Lord is on Twitter. Okay, so maybe Voldemort isn’t real, but he’s basically one of the biggest baddies there is, so that makes him a celebrity. Which means, obviously, he’s got the best Twitter parody account of the bunch.
It's July 31st. For some reason that date seems familiar....

As we expect Betty White is in real life, her parody account is up to date on all of Hollywood’s latest drama. With a decent amount of Beverly Hills, 90210 tied in.

James Franco and Chris O'dowd's Broadway revival of John Steinbeck's classic novel Of Mice And Men bowed out on a box office high as it closed on Sunday (27Jul14) after raking in just under $1.04 million (£611,765) for the week's eight performances. The big figure set a new record for the show's venue, the Longacre Theatre, as it was the first time one of its productions had crossed the $1 million (£588,235) mark. The play had already recouped its $3.8 million (£2.24 million) investment in its first 12 weeks on the Great White Way.
Pregnant pop star Christina Aguilera celebrated the impending birth of her second child with a baby shower in Los Angeles on Saturday (12Jul14). The Beautiful hitmaker and her fiance Matt Rutler invited around 50 close friends and family members to mark the occasion at an adults-only party at her stylist's home.
Aguilera, who topped of her all white outfit with a floral headpiece, was presented with a cheeky cake decorated with icing made into the shape of a naked woman giving birth to a baby on a hardwood floor.
A message alongside the graphic image read, "Push Xtina, push".
The couple is expecting a baby girl together.
Aguilera is also mum to six-year-old son Max, from her first marriage to Jordan Bratman. They split in September, 2010, months before the singer met production assistant Rutler on the set of her 2010 film flop, Burlesque.
Dolly Parton has voiced her disappointment after the abandoned dog she planned to adopt was returned to its owners. The country legend vowed to take home the white lurcher, which was found at Britain's Glastonbury Festival last month (Jun14), after the animal was admitted to a nearby shelter and named Dolly to mark Parton's iconic performance at the event.
However, the dog's owners came forward to claim the pooch, and Parton has now expressed her sadness that she won't be taking a new pet back to America.
In a video message, she says, "I was kinda disappointed because I was planning to take her home, I was going to name her Glassie for Glastonbury. I couldn't have called her Dolly, that would have been a little confusing... We got a call from the main people with the government and they told us that the true owners did come forward. There was a language barrier; I think they were from another country. They got the dog back so I don't get to take her home. I was looking forward to it."
Parton insists she plans to check up on the dog regularly "to make sure she is good".
Kate Moss' little sister is following in the British supermodel's footsteps after signing on as a new face of Calvin Klein. Lottie Moss appears in new ads for the Calvin Klein Jeans x mytheresa.com The Re-Issue Project, a capsule collection of iconic denim pieces which will be sold exclusively online.
Photographer Michael Avedon captured the 16 year old in a series of eye-catching black-and-white images.
The new ads will debut on Wednesday (16Jul14).
Avedon, whose grandfather shot Calvin Klein's iconic campaign with Brooke Shields in the early 1980s, says, "Lottie truly represents the essence of the Calvin Klein girl - intriguing innocence with utter beauty. It was wonderful to photograph this beautiful young lady!"
Moss' big sister made her Calvin Klein debut with Mark Wahlberg in 1993.

Ringo Starr has teamed up with fashion designer John Varvatos to raise funds for director David Lynch's transcendental meditation foundation. The former Beatles star is the face of Varvatos' 2014 Peace Rocks autumn fashion collection, and the rocker announced the news during a rally in Los Angeles on Monday (07Jul14) to mark his 74th birthday.
In a black and white promotional picture for the drive, Starr wears sunglasses and a leather jacket and pulls his trademark 'peace' sign. Each campaign snap will be accompanied by the #PeaceRocks hashtag.
Fans are encouraged to post 'selfie' snaps of themselves making the peace finger gesture on Twitter.com and every time the hashtag is used, Varvatos' company will donate $1 (£1.70) to the Ringo Starr Peace & Love Fund, which supports Lynch's foundation.
The moviemaker's charity promotes the use of transcendental meditation in public schools and for members of the military.
Starr also appears in a short film for the campaign in which he sits behind a drum kit and talks about his musical aspirations as a youngster.
The musician tells WWD.com of his new project, "John Varvatos made me a male model finally. At home, I've always been a male model. And now I'm out on the streets with it."
