'I’ve never fallen over drunk in a gutter, I’ve never had paparazzi finding me snorting cocaine, I’ve never even been offered cocaine, I’ve never even taken drugs - and that is really, hand on the heart, the absolute truth. So I felt somehow I navigated a way for myself and managed to not fall apart." Kate Winslet on growing up as a Hollywood star.
Veteran screen star Kate Mulgrew is set to open up about the daughter she gave up for adoption in a new memoir. The Star Trek: Voyager actress, 58, has landed a deal with publishers Little, Brown and Company to release an autobiography in 2015.
In the book, Mulgrew will reveal all about "the costs and rewards of a passionate life", including what drove her to give up the baby she had out of wedlock as she was trying to break into Hollywood. She will also share details about her emotional reunion with her child in 2001.
Mulgrew, who currently stars in Netflix series Orange is the New Black, went on to have two sons with her ex-husband Robert H. Egan.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has confessed she failed to recognise One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles upon their first meeting, accidentally mistaking him for a model's son. During the London Olympics closing ceremony last year (12), the British beauty joined fellow models Kate Moss and Jourdan Dunn as they strutted down a runway.
Backstage, Campbell mingled with other U.K. celebrities who were on hand to close out the summer games, including Styles, who was there to perform with his bandmates.
But in an interview with Heat magazine, Campbell confesses when she first met the young singer, she had absolutely no idea who he was.
She says, "Kate introduced me to him at the Olympics. And I said to her, 'Whose son is he? Is he one of our model friends' kids that I just missed out on?' I didn't know who he was. Kate was like, 'Stop! No! You must know him.'"
Despite the fact Campbell was unaware of Styles' celebrity, she also tells the magazine she's a big fan of Simon Cowell and his show The X Factor, where One Direction first found fame.
She adds, "I'm a big fan of Simon Cowell. Everything he touches turns to gold and he gives people who have hopes a chance to really make their dream come true. I can only watch The X Factor if I'm in the country. I know I can watch it on YouTube, but it's always a few days later and by that time someone's told you what's happened."

Producers of U.S. sitcom Full House will not be shooting a sequel, despite reports suggesting its stars Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin are returning for a reboot of the popular series. On Monday (04Nov13), multiple media outlets reported that the executive producer of the family-friendly show, Jeff Franklin, had been in talks with Warner Brothers executives about bringing back the beloved 1990s sitcom, which skyrocketed stars including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and John Stamos to fame.
According to the article, the new series would focus on the three grown-up Tanner girls, the characters played Bure, Sweetin, and the Olsens.
However, the alleged quotes from Franklin were taken from Rhode Island newspaper the Newport Gazette, a publication that has been out of commission since 1799.
The original article was published on entertainment site Screenrant.com as part of its April Fool's Day joke earlier this year (13), and a representative for the site even took to Twitter.com to clear the rumour and wrote, "Someone picked that up as legit (legitimate) news? Last year, a few broadcast sites even picked up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles April Fools post."
While a Full House reboot may not be in the making, another popular '90s sitcom, Boy Meets World, will be making a return to TV in a new series called Girl Meets World, in which Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprise their roles as childhood sweethearts, now with a young daughter of their own.
Actress Kate Beckinsale has her sights set on screenwriting after teaming up with the friend she once mentored as a child. The Underworld star, who was once a young writing competition winner, played tutor to a school pal who went on to become a scribe - and now the two women have teamed up to pen a screenplay about a dysfunctional group of friends.
Beckinsale tells C magazine, "My friend and I went to the same school in London and I wrote a lot as a child and was constantly winning writing competitions. And my mother asked her over because she wanted to become a writer.
"She became a writer and I became ridiculous."
"It's a very real fear of mine, so if you find me half eaten at the bottom of Rustic Canyon, you'll know the chain of events." Kate Beckinsale fears a mountain lion attack on her favourite California hiking route.
Comedienne Kristen Wiig has sparked rumours of a reconciliation with her ex-boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti after the couple was photographed together at a basketball game in New York on Sunday (03Nov13). The Bridesmaids star reportedly parted ways with The Strokes drummer in July (13) after an 18-month courtship, but it appears they're at least still good friends.
The couple, which has rarely spoken about its romance, was snapped in the audience at Madison Square Garden this weekend as the New York Knicks took on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 100-109 loss.
They weren't the only celebrities in the stands on Sunday - Christian Slater and his fiancee Brittany Lopez, and Mary-Kate Olsen and her boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy were also spotted cheering on the Knicks.

Kate Hudson served as a pillar of support for Lea Michele following the tragic death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, inviting the Glee star to stay at her home while paparazzi swarmed the young actress' house. The pair bonded on the set of the Golden Globe-winning series when Hudson joined the show as the dance teacher to Michele's character last year (12).
Since then, they have become close friends, with Hudson even providing a place of solace for Michele following Monteith's drug and alcohol overdose in July (13).
In an interview with Elle magazine, Michele opens up about the devastating time, revealing that Hudson was one of the first people she called after learning of Monteith's death.
Michele admits, "I called her and said, 'I don't know where I'm going to go because my house is swarmed with reporters.' She was like, 'Oh, you're going to stay at my house.' Like it was nothing.
"She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favourite juices. I'll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me."
And now Michele, who returned to the very set she met her beau on just weeks after his death, is determined to stay strong not only for herself, but in Monteith's honour.
She says, "Now that I'm in this position, you can choose to rise, which is what I'm going to try to do. It's very hard and you have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don't have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort.
"I know that Cory would want nothing more than for me to take this situation and use it to help people. I don't know if I will. I don't know how."
