The 2008 movie, which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis, was based on the novel of the same name by Mary Rodgers. Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster starred in the first film adaptation of Freaky Friday in 1976.
Nick Jonas has been added to the cast of Glee creator Ryan Murphy's new murder mystery series Scream Queens. He joins Glee regular Lea Michele, Joe Manganiello, Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande, Abigail Breslin and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Singer/actress Ariana Grande is returning to TV in Glee creator Ryan Murphy's new horror comedy series Scream Queens. The Problem hitmaker has landed a recurring role on the show, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis and Emma Roberts.
Glee actress Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer and Magic Mike hunk Joe Manganiello have also been added to the cast of the anthology series, which will be set at a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders.
Grande's new acting gig is her first since her teen sitcom Sam & Cat was put on permanent hiatus last year (14) and then cancelled after just one season.
"I was going to pick up food... and I saw a parking spot, I pulled over my car. There were people standing there and I put the car in park and all of a sudden, the car doors open and these two people get in my car. And at first I was like, 'Wow, what the... are you doing?' and the woman looks at me and goes, 'You are Uber (car service)...?' They were from the Czech Republic... and it was just that moment where then they looked at me and then the guy in the back seat looked at me (funnily) and then I think he realised it was me..." Veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis had an awkward run-in with a pair of tourists in Los Angeles recently after they confused her with a cab driver.
Actors Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last year (14) by quietly renewing their vows while on vacation. The Halloween star tied the knot with Guest in December, 1984 and they decided to mark their anniversary a little earlier than planned last summer (Jul14) when they embarked on an historical trek to Missouri, where U.S. explorers Captain Meriwether Lewis and Lieutenant William Clark travelled in the early 1800s, on what has since become known as the Corps of Discovery Expedition.
Curtis explains, "Our anniversary is December 18th and the way we celebrated was we wanted to do a trip - we retraced... a section of the Lewis and Clark trip on the Missouri River... in July.
"We paddled with eight friends of ours... in two-man canoes... and it was just extraordinary, in the White Cliffs section of the Missouri River being out (in) the same, exact stretch that Lewis and Clark saw when they did their trip.
"It just was a perfect way to celebrate."
Curtis reveals the vacation was brought to a fitting end with an unexpected vow renewal ceremony.
She adds, "We had an impromptu redoing of our vows, right at the last (moment)... It was perfect and probably the trip of our lifetime."
Singer Curtis Lee has died, aged 75. Lee passed away on Thursday (08Jan15) in his hometown of Yuma, Arizona after a long battle with cancer.
He began his recording career in 1959 and scored his biggest hit with Pretty Little Angel Eyes, which was produced by music mogul Phil Spector in 1961.
Lee went on to release a string of songs, including another Spector-produced hit, Under the Moon of Love, but retired from the music industry in 1969 to go into construction with his father.
His funeral will be held on 17 January (15) in Yuma at Champion Church, which Lee helped to design and build.
Actresses Bette Midler and Julianne Moore are among the stars who have expressed their sorrow and heartbreak after gunmen shot and killed 12 staff members at French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday (07Jan15). At least two suspects stormed the publication's Paris offices and opened fire, gunning down 12 people and leaving four others critically injured in what French President Francois Hollande has branded a "terrorist attack".
Editors of the weekly Charlie Hebdo magazine have previously published controversial cartoons of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed, infuriating devout members of Islam as depictions of religious figures are typically frowned upon. Wednesday's attack is believed to be related to that controversy.
The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of sympathy and support from a slew of celebrities, with Moore taking to Twitter.com to write, "I am heartbroken by the loss of life and attack on freedom of expression", while Midler posts, "There are no words. How many times have we said that in the last few years? Religious war comes to the doors of our homes. I think I have to go light some candles and say some prayers."
French actor Gilles Marini has shared his outrage in a series of posts, which read: "Shame on what happened in France today. Governments around the world TOGETHER must stop those vermin". He then adds, "To all Fanatics, extremist and devil (sic) that believe that God ask them to do that (sic). You're wrong and manipulated."
An angry Moby writes, "islamic extremists are willing to kill innocent people over CARTOONS?? what the f**k? what sort of deity can't handle a cartoon? here are some options if you're offended by a cartoon: a-don't look at it. or b-make a funnier cartoon. killing people is not an option".
Singer Josh Groban tweets, "My heart goes out to the French people and the city of Paris on this horrible day. This is an attack on us all and we are with you", and his actress girlfriend Kat Dennings adds, "Paris! My heart goes out to you and everyone affected by this horrific attack. I love you all."
Others who have tweeted about the shooting include Jamie Lee Curtis, Elijah Wood, Nancy Sinatra, Pete Wentz, OneRepublic, Nicki Minaj and Nicky Hilton.
As WENN went to press, the gunmen were still at large.
Among the dead are Charlie Hebdo founder Georges Wolinski and fellow famed cartoonists Jean 'Cabu' Cabut, Stephane 'Charb' Charbonnier and Bernard 'Tignous' Verlhac.
Veteran actress Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to her horror roots to star in Ryan Murphy's new TV anthology series, Scream Queens. Glee and American Horror Story creator Murphy is set to launch the new horror comedy next autumn (15) and he has now tapped the Halloween icon to headline the first season with Emma Roberts.
The show will be set at a college campus which is rocked by a series of murders.
Scream 4 star Roberts has been working with Murphy since joining the cast of American Horror Story as Maggie Esmerelda in 2013.
Curtis is no stranger to TV either - she recently appeared on New Girl and crime drama NCIS.
In a world where celebrities are constantly bombarded with paparazzi and where every detail of their life is public information, it seems very difficult for many to keep a long-term relationship. These twelve couples are among some of the most stable and enduring celebrity pairs of our time. They defy the odds by sticking through it and often, by keeping their lives as private as they possibly can.
1. Meryl Streep and Don Gummer: 36 years
Meryl Streep opted out of marrying someone famous and married this friend of her brother. Because Meryl wanted to keep her marriage out of the spotlight, it is still very impressive how little the world knows about him. The couple have four children together, and when Meryl finally did mention him in her 2012 Oscars' acceptance speech it was adorable. "“I’m going to thank Don because when you thank your husband at the end of the speech they play him out with the music and I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives you’ve given me," she said.
2. Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne: 32 years

"Literally, a wave of — if love is a feeling, or a cellular thing that happens to your body, it went through me, and that’s pretty much who he is, and how he’s been," Rita said of their relationship to Piers Morgan in 2012.

They met while working on Family Ties in 1985, but didn't start dating until two years later. Early on in their marriage, Michael was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but the couple have remained stable. "When we married, we married--and that was it. Despite losing their 16-year-old son, Jett, in 2009, the pair have stayed strong. They first met while filming The Experts, but nothing formed except for a friendship, because Kelly was married at the time. John told Redbook what he thought of her initially: "I had interest in her because even in spite of the trouble that she was having in her marriage, she was willing to stick through tough times with him, which really showed character. I just remember thinking, God, if we're ever single at the same time, I think this is really the one."
9. David Bowie and Iman: 22 years
According to Huffington Post, the rockstar and supermodel fell in love on a blind date in 1990 and were married two years later. The couple are very quiet about their life and their love story, but do have two children, Zulekha (Iman's child from a previous marriage) and Alexandria. This beautiful couple met on the set of All My Children where they were onscreen lovers. According to People, they dated secretly for a year and then eloped in Las Vegas. The next thing you know, we're married, and then four months later we were pregnant," Consuelos told Redbook. The couple have three children.

The couple first met in 1995 in Melbourne, Australia on the set of the TV drama Correlli. They both felt initial attraction and though Hugh hesitated to propose, he overcame it and they were married a year later. "I decided, I won't ask her to marry me for six months," Jackman told Town and Country magazine. "Then after four months I thought, that's the most ridiculous rule!" The couple have two children, Oscar and Ava. "It gets better every year," Furness said.

Another couple that have successfully kept their relationship under wraps, Sarah and Matthew refuse to say much about the secrets to their success. In last year's Harper's Bazaar, Sarah did gush about him shorthly. “There’s also the reality of your life,” she said. “I love Matthew Broderick. Call me crazy, but I love him. We can only be in the marriage we are. We’re very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he’s the father of my children, and it’s because of him that there’s this whole other world that I love.”
