British rockers The Libertines returned to the stage together for the first time in four years on Saturday night (28Jun14). Earlier this year (14), the band announced they would be reuniting for a huge concert at the British Summer Time Hyde Park event in London on 5 July (14), and over the weekend (28-29Jun14), they played a warm-up show in Scotland.
Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell thrilled the crowd at the Glasgow Barrowland venue with a 23-track set, including hits such as Can't Stand Me Now, Don't Look Back Into The Sun, What Katie Did and What Became Of The Likely Lads.
Doherty told the crowd, "Well we're a band from England, we're called The Libertines. We played up here years ago - I don't think any of you were born to be honest."
As well as the London gig, the group is scheduled to play at the Benicassim festival in Spain over the summer (14), as well as dates in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany through until October (14).
The Libertines split in 2004 but reunited in 2010 for shows at the U.K.'s Reading and Leeds festivals.
Actor Rob Lowe has opened up about his vacation terror as French floods threatened to wash himself and his family away during a recent break in Grasse. The star is back in America after the disaster, which one of his sons caught on camera and posted online.
The frightening footage showed flood waters engulfing the Lowes' vacation house, ripping down trees and washing away cars.
Lowe tells U.S. news show Extra, "When I looked out the bedroom window and saw a BMW car floating by... I knew it was probably time to call the rescue people.
"We were very lucky, we got rescued by amazing first responders... We got 12 inches of rain in two hours in the South of France... It's amazing how quickly it could all turn.
"My son and all his high school buddies were on a celebratory Euro trip with us, so they got memories they were not planning for that they're never gonna forget, that's for sure."

Country superstar Keith Urban gave his wife Nicole Kidman the ultimate wedding anniversary present at a gig on Wednesday (25Jun14) when he dedicated a song he wrote about their relationship to the actress.
The You'll Think of Me hitmaker was onstage in Melbourne, Australia when he turned his attention to his wife of eight years, who was in the audience. After a fan shouted out "Happy anniversary!", Urban responded, "It is tonight. My wife and I are celebrating eight years of marriage tonight. And she's here tonight."
He then recalled a moment before their wedding, which inspired a track titled Once in a Lifetime. Urban said, "This is a true story... Nic and I had just gotten engaged in September of 2005. And we were planning our wedding, which was going to take place here in Australia, in June. "A couple months or so before our wedding, we were in our hotel and we were talking about the future and I could tell that Nic was getting very nervous about the thought of marrying me. It's a big thing you know. It's a big thing to get married. It takes an enormous amount of trust and a leap of faith."
The singer continued to reassure Kidman, who was previously married to Tom Cruise, that he was going to be "her man, forever", hoping there was a way to show her that he would never leave her side.
The day after their conversation, Urban hit the music studio and wrote Once in a Lifetime, which he dusted off for fans - and Kidman - on Wednesday.
He said, "This is called Once in a Lifetime. Eight years, baby girl, this is for you tonight my love; I love you so much."

Director Roman Polanski has reportedly appealed to Polish authorities to grant him permission to return to his native country to make a movie without the threat of extradition to the U.S., where he remains a fugitive on sex charges dating back to the 1970s.
The reclusive Chinatown filmmaker fled America for Europe more than 30 years ago on the eve of his sentencing for having unlawful sex with a minor, to which he had pleaded guilty. He has lived in France for the past few decades, but his freedom was threatened in 2009 when he was arrested in Switzerland and threatened with extradition back to the U.S. He was eventually released and allowed to return to France.
Now Polanski is seeking a special pardon from Polish officials, who have an extradition treaty in place with the U.S., to protect him from any legal action so that he can shoot a prospective new film about 19th century French army officer Alfred Dreyfus in the country.
His Polish lawyer, Jerzy Stachowicz, tells Reuters, "Roman Polanski is considering filming in Poland about (sic) the Dreyfus Affair."
His producer pal Robert Benmussa reveals an official decision about the project has yet to be made, adding, "We have to be sure that filming will not be interrupted for legal reasons."
Dreyfus, an artillery officer of Jewish heritage, was convicted of treason in 1894, but his case caused an uproar among members of the French society amid allegations of anti-Semitism, and he was subsequently exonerated.
A Thousand Miles singer Vanessa Carlton has delayed the release of her new album Liberman because she's pregnant with her first child. The star informed fans on social media on Thursday (26Jun14), posting a photo of her bulging baby belly in silhouette.
She wrote, "I can now reveal the reason as to why Liberman will not be released until next summer. See the picture below. No, those aren't a bunch of croissants. We're expecting a baby. "It's healthy and moving around like a champ. I'm bummed to delay the album because it's so special to me and the perfect combination of England and Tennessee. When I put the record on it feels like medicine. I hope it does the same for you... in due time!"
Post by Vanessa Carlton.
The baby news comes seven months after the singer wed Deer Tick frontman John McCauley during a ceremony officiated by Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks in Arizona. Carlton suffered from complications from what turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy last year (13), and was forced to cancel tour dates.
Announcing the news on her Facebook.com page in early November (13), the singer revealed she was diagnosed after a concert in October (13), revealing, "It was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw). This is not considered a viable pregnancy because the fetus cannot develop, and it is a high-risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding."
In the candid Facebook post, the 33-year-old star revealed her right fallopian tube had to be surgically removed.
Sharon Stone has slammed a "salacious" and "unkind" report suggesting she has embarked on a new romance with Antonio Banderas following his split from her close pal Melanie Griffith.
The Hollywood couple, which had been dogged by break-up claims for years, announced its 18-year marriage was over earlier this month (Jun14), when Griffith filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Just days later, sources told editors at Britain's Grazia magazine the Basic Instinct beauty has grown "closer than ever" to Banderas, suggesting the two friends were allegedly "making plans for a getaway together in July".
However, Stone has fired off a statement blasting the claims and she has attacked Grazia reporters for spreading lies. A statement issued to the DailyMail.co.uk reads: "Antonio is a brother to me and Melanie has been with me for each and every birth of my three children. "They are my family. I find this salacious, unkind, unfounded reporting to be the typical pretense of what passes as 'journalism' today."
Stone isn't the only one who has been falsely linked to the newly-single Banderas - Bollywood beauty Mallika Sherawat has also dismissed rumours suggesting she played a part in The Mask of Zorro's marriage breakdown after video footage of the pair dancing at an event in Cannes, France in 2012 surfaced online days after news of the split broke, leading to reports suggesting the Indian actress had enjoyed a romantic vacation with the 53 year old.
Denying the story, the Khwahish star, 37, tells Eonline.com: "Antonio Banderas is a wonderful man, a great dancer and an acquaintance of mine. I did not go on any vacation with him, and I'm sorry he's going through a divorce."
