Liza Minnelli was forced to cancel her joint concert with actor/singer Alan Cumming on Monday (04Aug14) on doctors' orders. The 68-year-old Cabaret star was slated to join The Good Wife actor for a sold-out concert in Provincetown, Massachusetts, but had to pull out because of an ongoing medical condition.
A statement from Minnelli's publicist read: "Liza is under doctor's orders to continue to restrict her travel and performance schedule. Liza sends her regrets that she won't be able to perform with her dear friend Alan and will miss seeing her fans and friends in Provincetown."
However, fans were still treated to Cumming's acclaimed solo show, which was accompanied by Emmy Award-winning composer/pianist Lance Horne.
The Provincetown gig is the latest show Minnelli has been forced to cancel - she previously axed a planned concert at London's Royal Albert Hall in July (14), as well as three more dates in France and Holland, also on doctors' orders.

Actress Kristin Scott Thomas was shocked to learn her racy film Only God Forgives was given a 12 age-rating in France.
Thomas stars alongside Ryan Gosling in the gritty 2013 blockbuster, which features brutal violence and explicit sexual scenes, and the film was classed suitable for over-18s only in Britain and rated R, meaning those under 17 need adult accompaniment, in the U.S. Thomas says even she found the film hard to watch at times and was concerned to learn young teenagers could see the movie in France.
She tells Hunger magazine, "I found (the film) incredibly violent, and I was very disturbed by the fact that in France it was given the official seal of approval that any child over the age of 12 could see it... There is no way my 12-year-old son would see that film. I think (the level of violence in films) is disturbing. People should be more affected. I think people are getting more and more used to violence, violent images and sexual images. We're so used to using the word "f**k" now."
Actress Adrienne Bailon has clarified comments about her ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian after his sister Kim Kardashian blasted her for making scathing remarks about him.
The former Disney Channel star dated Kardashian for two years until 2009 and the pair's romance fell apart onscreen on the family's reality show after he admitted to cheating on Bailon.
The actress slams him in a new issue of Latina magazine, insisting she hates being blamed for their break-up. Kim was furious over the article and hit back at Bailon on Twitter.com, writing, "Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc (because) she is talking about a Kardashian... So sad when people try to kick my brother when he is down #FamilyForever."
Bailon didn't hold back after hearing about Kim's comments, and on Thursday (31Jul14), she took to Instagram.com with a note indirectly pointed at the reality TV star.
Bailon wrote, "Fame and career are two different things. I've always had a career. I have been working hard since I was 15 years old. Being someone's 'girlfriend' was never what I wanted to be famous for. What makes you 'famous' isn't always what you want to be 'labeled' as, or known for. If anyone should understand that...It should be you," slyly referring to Kim's 2007 leaked sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J.
She continued, "I also stated in the article that none of this would have stopped me from being in love and being in that relationship. I just would have gone about it differently. You can love someone just as much in private. We all learn from our first loves. #Godbless"

Sir Mick Jagger's jewellery designer daughter Jade Jagger has been conned out of more than $51,000 (£30,000) worth of gems by a celebrity stylist. Jagger loaned the valuables to Charles Adesanya, who told the socialite the jewellery would be used for a model to wear in a shoot for a women's publication and then returned to her.
Instead, Adesanya pawned the items - along with more gems fleeced from other jewellers - to pay off his debts.
When Jagger contacted Adesanya about the return of the items, he lied to her that they had been mistakenly couriered to Paris, France.
Only half of Adesanya's total haul, worth around $720,000 (£423,529), has been recovered.
Adesanya admitted fraud and theft between August, 2012 and May, 2013 during a hearing at London's Southwark Crown Court on Monday (28Jul14) and was jailed for four years and two months.
Actor Jamie Foxx is set to portray boxing legend Mike Tyson in a movie biopic after five years of preparation for the role.
The Django Unchained star spoke of his desire to step into the ring as the former world heavyweight champ as far back as 2009, and now Tyson has revealed the project is up and running and he hopes cameras will begin rolling by the end of 2015.
He is also hoping producers will use the latest computer technology to help Foxx appear the correct age as he portrays the fighter at various stages of his 58-bout career, and he will even serve as the actor's personal trainer to help him achieve the correct level of fitness.
Tyson says, "Me and Jamie Foxx are in discussion, and we gonna do it (sic). Within a year to 18 months, we're going to do the Mike Tyson story and he's going to portray me, and now they have this new animation; because you know Jamie's pretty much my age so he can't portray me but they have this new system."
In 2005, Foxx won a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of blues musician Ray Charles in movie biopic Ray.
Two members of feminist punk group Pussy Riot are taking Russian government officials to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to demand compensation over their imprisonment.
Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alekhina spent a total of 21 months behind bars on hooliganism charges following a protest at a church in Moscow in 2012.
They were freed in December (13) as part of a political amnesty, but now the singers are fighting to hold Russian authorities accountable at the ECHR in France over allegations the investigation and prosecution violated their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights.
They are demanding 120,000 Euros ($161,282/£94,872) each in compensation, plus an additional 10,000 Euros ($13,435/£7,903) for court costs.
Pavel Chikov from the human rights legal group Agora, which is representing the two stars, says, "They didn't get fair trial here in Russia so they want to get it finally in the European court of human rights."
"Plus they want this case to set a precedent that Russians can speak publicly on sensitive political issues, even if this speech is not supported by majority. This is a case about freedom of expression and fair trial first of all."
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing is in talks to portray movie star Anna May Wong in an upcoming biopic.
Producers of Shanghai-based company Fundamental Films are developing a film called Dragon Lady and The X-Men: Days of Future Past actress/singer has emerged as their top choice to play the lead role.
The film will centre around Wong's life as the first Chinese-American movie star, recalling her poverty-stricken upbringing in downtown Los Angeles and her rise to fame in Hollywood.
Her breakout role came in 1924 when she played a Mongol slave opposite Douglas Fairbanks in The Thief of Bagdad, but she was constantly offered roles to play negative stereotypes of Chinese females.
The parts available to her were limited even further by U.S. laws at the time which prevented her from having on-screen romances with a person of another race.
Wong also starred in such films as Daughter of the Dragon, Daughter of Shanghai, and Shanghai Express with Marlene Dietrich, and she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.

The Torn hitmaker split from Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns in 2008 after five years of marriage, and has since been linked to stars including Friends actor David Schwimmer and Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill.
However, Imbruglia admits she has now been single for a long time and she is turning to online dating websites in a bid to find love.
She tells KIIS 1065's The Kyle and Jackie O Show, "(My love life is) shocking! I'm so single... I don't know (why)... I just want to meet (someone normal)... My girlfriend in London has fallen madly in love on her third Tinder date and I'm incredibly jealous. And he's a really nice normal guy, a director... I've met him, he's really sweet and really normal... Everyone I know who is single is on Tinder in London."
When the presenters informed the star that most people who use the app are just looking for one-night stands, Imbruglia replies, "No! Is that what it is? Now I'm regretting bringing this up on the radio!... Ok you've turned me off now."
