Taylor Swift was hospitalised when an ex-boyfriend crashed a snowmobile they were riding on.
The Love Story hitmaker was travelling on a snow vehicle with a former lover when he lost control and wrecked it, and the pair was admitted to hospital for minor injuries. Swift has penned a song called Out of the Woods about the relationship and references the incident in the lyrics, writing, "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon/Twenty stitches in a hospital room."
Swift was surprised the accident remained a secret, telling Rolling Stone magazine, "You know what I've found works even better than an NDA (non-disclosure agreement)? Looking someone in the eye and saying, 'Please don't tell anyone about this.' "People think they know the whole narrative of my life... I think maybe that line is there to remind people that there are really big things they don't know about."
Although the pop star does not mention the boyfriend by name, the interview has sparked speculation that the song is about One Direction star Harry Styles, who Swift dated last year (13).
"He's his mother's son and my son, and he's come up the chasm much quicker than we did. But that's typical in the Information Age; things get accelerated. You're confronted with histories and predispositions and influences and feelings and unspoken traumas or needs that weren't met, and all of a sudden you're three miles into the woods." Robert Downey, Jr. on his son Indio's recent drug arrest.
British actor and comedian James Corden is preparing to relocate to America after officially landing the role as the new host of TV's The Late Late Show. The Begin Again star will take over from fellow Brit Craig Ferguson, who will depart the programme after nine years as host in December (14).
Monday's (08Sep14) announcement from CBS network bosses comes a month after reports initially surfaced revealing Corden was the frontrunner for the job, and the 36 year old can't believe his luck.
A statement released by Corden reads: "I can't describe how thrilled and honoured I am to be taking over from the brilliant Craig Ferguson.
"To be asked to host such a prestigious show on America's No. 1 (sic) network is hugely exciting. I can't wait to get started, and will do my very best to make a show America will enjoy."
Corden is no stranger to U.S. audiences - he won a Tony Award in 2012 for his star turn in Broadway show One Man, Two Guvnors, while he also appeared in the 2006 film adaptation of The History Boys, and landed a role alongside Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo in comedy drama Begin Again, which was released earlier this year (14).
He is also set to hit the big screen as The Baker in the highly-anticipated Into the Woods movie musical, which will hit theatres in the U.S. at Christmas (25Dec14), and American cinema audiences will also be able to see him as Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts when hit 2013 biopic One Chance is released this autumn (14).

Rapper Pras Michel put a new twist on the charity ice bucket challenge by performing the stunt in North Korea. The former Fugees star jetted to the controversial country last week (ends31Aug14) and he took the chance to douse himself in cold water in the name of a good cause during a visit to the city of Pyongyang, where many Western influences are banned.

When we go to places, my crew, we stick out. You can tell instantly these guys aren't from this neck of the woods. But the people have been good to us."
He went on to nominate his former Fugees co-star Lauryn Hill and British royal Prince Harry for the stunt, which raises money and awareness for the ALS Association.
During his trip to the country, Michel also claimed to be the first American to tweet from North Korea, writing in a post on his Twitter.com page, "First #American to tweet from #NorthKorea very interesting place... (sic)"

Secret service agents flew into action over the weekend (09-10Aug14) after a stranger was spotted taking pictures outside a celebrity party close to the home of former U.S. President Bill Clinton. The incident occurred on Sunday (10Aug14) when a man was seen taking pictures close to Harvey Weinstein's home in New York's The Hamptons where the movie mogul was hosting a star-studded screening of his latest film The Giver.
The house is next door to a property rented by the former U.S. leader and his family, and secret service agents issued an alert after the snapper was spotted in the woods.
The unnamed man was questioned by local police and later released.
A spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "An individual was observed between houses taking pictures of an adjacent property. They were stopped, and it was verified they were taking pictures of the other property. Local police were contacted as well. They were sent on their way with no charges."
Stars attending the party included Katie Holmes, Jeff Bridges, Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Bon Jovi, as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton and their pregnant daughter Chelsea.
Actor John Krasinski treated co-star Anna Kendrick to a special surprise by organising an impromptu trip to Elvis Presley's Graceland estate on her birthday. The former The Office star is currently directing and co-starring in a new film called The Hollars with Kendrick, who plays her pregnant girlfriend in the drama.
When Krasinski discovered the actress turned 29 on Saturday (09Aug14), he decided to take a break from filming in Mississippi and headed to Memphis, Tennessee to Presley's former mansion.
The Pitch Perfect star took to Instagram.com on her birthday and posted a photo of herself in front of the rock 'n' roll legend's iconic home, adding the caption, "Krasinski found out it was my birthday and organized a trip to Graceland. #WorldsBestBoss #References"
Kendrick also shared a picture in front of Presley's signature white and gold jumpsuit, while she attempted to do her best lip curl impression.
While The Hollars, which also features Richard Jenkins, Margo Martindale and Josh Groban, marks the first collaboration between Kendrick and Krasinski, the actress also stars alongside his wife, Emily Blunt, in the upcoming movie musical, Into the Woods.
Danity Kane star Dawn Richard has released her own account of the recent studio fight with former bandmate Aubrey O'Day, which subsequently led to the group's split. The all-girl band formed by Sean 'Diddy' Combs in 2005, reunited last year (13), but the three remaining members have fallen out yet again following a recent recording session spat, during which Richard allegedly lashed out at O'Day.
The incident was the tipping point for the group, as O'Day, along with Shannon Bex, confirmed the reunion is over in a statement to their fans on Friday (08Aug14)
The following day (09Aug14), Richard penned her own letter to the public to give her side of the story, and accused O'Day and Bex of completely cutting her out of the group and its social media accounts following the altercation.
Richard wrote, "I am sorry to everyone that this news has to come out. You're worth more. Certain choices were made that I am not proud of. However, I will not be disrespected. Once again, I am sorry to the fans as this should have been handled privately not publicly.
"I continued to work with both parties to try to release the album even when the original story was leaked without anyone being consulted. I have been unable to release my statement via Danity Kane social media because my access to all Danity Kane social media pages has been blocked by DK members.
"This forces me to make my statement on my personal page. This could have all been handled privately; however, certain parties chose to make this public before it could be rectified. I am not justifying my actions. I am saying this was all done before any changes or conversations could even be had."
In O'Day's lengthy letter, she recalled the studio clash for fans and suggested that Richard had yet to apologise for her bad behaviour, revealing that she "watched small lies turn into bigger lies. Those bigger lies turned into verbal abuse. Now the verbal abuse has deteriorated into a physical assault."
O'Day lodged an official battery complaint with police following her alleged fight with Richard.
Danity Kane, which was putting the finishing touches to a comeback album when the fight occurred last Monday (04Aug14), had been littered with trouble since the beginning of the reunion - original member D. Woods refused to be a part of the get together and Aundrea Fimbres quit the group on the opening night of a comeback tour in May (14), after revealing she was pregnant and engaged to wed.
