America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon wore a pair of diamond encrusted loafers worth $2 million (£1.3 million) for the show's finale on Wednesday (17Sept14).
The presenter showed off the $2 million (£1.3 million) footwear on in a picture posted on Women's Wear Daily's Instagram page ahead of the reality TV installment, writing, "A million each foot... Pow!" The shoes hold more than 14,000 full-cut diamonds set in white gold with a weight of 340 carats and were created by Jason Arashenen. The designer reveals Cannon approached him about the special project in 2013, saying, "Not very often do I get a request for the most expensive shoes in the world. When Nick approached me last year, he said he wanted to make history and be so over-the-top. He wanted to set a new standard in diamonds."
The pricey shoes are being considered by Guinness Book of World Records officials to be listed as the Most Valuable Pair of Shoes in the world. Cannon split from his superstar wife Mariah Carey last month (Sep14).
Rockers Machine Head have postponed their North American tour to finish their new record. The metal band was due to hit the road this autumn (14), but announced on Wednesday (17Sep14) that they have decided to hold off on live gigs to perfect their album, Bloodstone & Diamonds.
The rockers released a statement which read, "It is with great disappointment that MACHINE HEAD must announce the postponement of our North American tour this fall.
"Our new album, Bloodstone & Diamonds, has taken longer to complete than expected and we had to make the difficult choice to either delay the album, let it go out as incomplete, or cancel the tour in order to properly finish and promote the album in the caliber it needs to be done. We decided postponing the tour was the best decision for the record.
"We feel this record is a milestone, we have something truly special here, but getting there has been a challenge. Our vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn just returned from a press tour where he was playing rough mixes and incomplete versions of songs for the press just to try and keep everything on time for our November release date."
The postponed dates will be rescheduled for the beginning of next year (15), but the band's European tour, slated to begin in November (15), will go on as scheduled.
Bloodstone & Diamonds is set for a release on 10 November (14).
Jenny Mccarthy has already lost her wedding ring less than a month after exchanging vows with actor/singer Donnie Wahlberg. The model-turned-TV personality wed the New Kids on the Block hunk on 31 August (14) near her hometown of Chicago, Illinois, but she lost the band he gave her on their big day following a sex session on honeymoon.
During an interview with New York morning chat show Good Day NY on Monday (15Sep14), she admitted she took the ring off before a romantic encounter with her new husband, and it disappeared.
McCarthy revealed, "We were staying in a hotel and you can't have a wedding ring on... it's a little hard to get romantic with diamonds on your hand.
"I removed it and put it on the room service table and they (staff) came and turned down the room and the ring was gone."
But McCarthy isn't too upset about the loss of her ring, adding, "If you’re gonna lose your wedding ring, you should lose it that way."
She's still hoping someone finds it, realises what it is and returns the ring: "They could have maybe not seen it, or it could have gone under a dish and (been) thrown away on accident.
"But I’m missing it today! I keep going, 'Where is my ring?' But Donnie and I are both laughing that at least we lost it for the best reason possible!"
McCarthy added a thick gold band with diamonds on her big day, to match the already impressive yellow sapphire engagement ring Wahlberg gave her when he popped the question in April (14).
One-time abuse victim Rihanna's introduction to U.S. TV's Thursday Night Football special was yanked at the last minute on Thursday (11Sep14) and replaced with an interview with embattled league commissioner Roger Goodell amid the sport's ongoing domestic violence drama.
Rihanna’s Jay Z collaboration Run This Town was billed as part of the launch of the 2014 season of the CBS show, but network bosses decided the programme should open with a more serious message following the recent Ray Rice scandal.
Rice was arrested earlier this year (14) following an altercation with his then-fiancee in a hotel elevator in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Sickening footage of the incident has since been released and earlier this month (Sep14) the sportsman was kicked off the Baltimore Ravens roster and banned from playing in the National Football League (NFL).
Goodell came under fire from the media and women's rights groups for not acting sooner in dealing with Rice, amid accusations he and NFL bosses don't take domestic violence seriously enough. The commissioner has since spoken out about the scandal, dismissing reports that suggested the footage of Rice knocking his now-wife unconscious was made available to NFL executives in April (14), and his exclusive interview with CBS newswoman Norah O'Donnell was replayed at the beginning of the Thursday night football coverage, as well as a chat with Ravens team owner Steve Bisciotti.
As a result, Rihanna's reworked Run This Town, featuring a comedic segment starring Don Cheadle, was axed.
Announcing the decision hours before the big game, CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus said, "We thought journalistically and from a tone standpoint, we needed to have the appropriate tone coverage." Ironically, the featured game was a clash between the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. Rihanna was a victim of abuse in 2009 when her then-boyfriend Chris Brown attacked her during a fight on the eve of the Grammy Awards. The R&B singer is still on probation following his violent actions.
Actress Anna Kendrick once threw a pair of diamond earrings in the trash after an obsessed fan tracked down her address and sent her the pricey gift in the mail.
The Pitch Perfect star warns devotees she has a strict rule about presents delivered to her private residence - and she won't hesitate to discard them, no matter how expensive and lavish the gifts are.
During an interview with U.S. podcast host Marc Maron, she explains, "I got (a gift) with, like, a really long letter about how he really felt like we should be together, and if I would just give him a chance, and he didn't want to do it over social media because he thought that would pressure me because it was public... "He (wanted) to be a gentleman. And he, uh, sent me a pair of diamond earrings. For real diamond earrings. I did go and check. And I was just like, 'These have to go into the trash. I can't. I cannot. I cannot wear them. I can't give them to someone.' "It's too weird. If the teddy bear goes in the trash, these go in the trash. Just on principle. So, I had to throw them away. If you send something to my house, it's going in the trash."

Both music stars took to the stage at Sunday's (24Aug14) MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, and Beyonce showed her thanks to the Superbass hitmaker with a one of a kind gift.
Minaj took to Instagram.com on Monday (25Aug14) and posted a photo of a gold necklace with the word Flawless encrusted in diamonds, along with the caption, "If Beyonce didn't walk into your dressing room and give you a diamond 'FLAWLESS' necklace, then there's no way you could be having a better week than me.

Officials at the Indian film authority have halted the release of a movie based on the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi due to fears of unrest. Kaum De Heere, or Diamonds of the Community, tells the story of Gandhi's political run and focuses on the two bodyguards who killed her in 1984 and the violent riots that followed.
The film was originally approved by members of the Indian film classification board but the decision was reviewed after a number of politicians expressed their concern about its release, which was scheduled for Friday (22Aug14).
The panel ruled the movie can not be screened because it glorifies the killers and could spark protests.
Board chief Leela Samson says, "We saw the film and decided it could not be released as it was due to fears that it would lead to disruption of public order... The film is double trouble. It glorifies Indira Gandhi's assassins who took the law into their own hands and it glorifies the hanging of the two men."
Director Ravinder Ravi defends his film, telling India's The Hindu newspaper, "All that I am doing is telling a human story about two families that is neither political nor aimed at creating trouble."
The chief executive of the board, Rakesh Kumar, was arrested on Tuesday (19Aug14) for accepting bribes to approve Bollywood movies. Kumar revealed that Kaum De Heere was one of the films in question but Ravi denies the allegation.
Gandhi's two bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh carried out the assassination. Beant was killed by police shortly after the murder and Stawant was hanged for the crime in 1989.
Paris Hilton's DJing career has really taken off - the socialite has landed two club residencies and a two-month tour. The hotel heiress and reality TV regular kicked off a turntable tour with a return to Ibiza club Amnesia on Wednesday (06Aug14), where she has a residency, and her upcoming tour will feature dates in Europe, Asia, South America and the U.S.
Hilton launched her career as an international DJ at club Amnesia last summer (13). Her Foam and Diamonds party attracts more than 10,000 revellers a week.
Earlier this year (14), she signed to rap mogul Bryan 'Birdman' Williams' Cash Money Records, and now boasts Lil Wayne and Drake among her label mates.
Rapper A$Ap Rocky is set to release a documentary chronicling his time as the opening act for Rihanna's Diamonds Tour last year (13).
The five-part series, titled SVDDXNLY (Suddenly), will premiere on website Noisey.vice.com on 5 August (14) and will feature appearances from Drake, Rihanna and Snoop Dogg.
Director and producer David Laven tells The Hollywood Reporter, "He's been on a rapid rise, and it's kind of the thing about the film title - it may not be so straightforward, but he rose to fame overnight."
"Literally, two days in (to filming)... Rocky was just like, 'Can you guys just stay with us the whole tour?'... We came back and started editing, and this seven-minute piece we were going to make turned into an hour-long film."
The series will also include songs from the hip-hop star's upcoming instrumental album Beauty & The Beast: Slowed Down Sessions (Chapter 1).
