Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden has landed the coveted role of Prince Charming in Kenneth Branagh's movie adaptation of the classic fairytale Cinderella. The actor, who plays Robb Stark in the cult TV fantasy drama, will romance Downton Abbey's Lily James in the new blockbuster, which also features Cate Blanchett as the titular character's wicked stepmother.
Retired athlete Dennis Rodman is calling on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to release a U.S. citizen imprisoned for allegedly committing unspecified "hostile acts" against the country's oppressive regime. The former Chicago Bulls ace made headlines earlier this year (Feb13) when he struck up an unusual friendship with the dictator during a visit to the country to run a basketball camp for children.
He is now requesting the release of Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American, who was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour in April (13) after his arrest in November last year (12).
Taking to his Twitter.com page, Rodman writes, "I'm calling on the Supreme Leader of North Korea or as I call him 'Kim', to do me a solid (favour) and cut Kenneth Bae loose."
Rapper R. Prophet has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and public intoxication following his arrest in Kentucky last month (Apr13). The former Nappy Roots star, real name Kenneth Ryan Anthony, clashed with police on 20 April (13) after he was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
He reportedly resisted arrest, and the altercation left him nursing cuts and bruises to his face, wrists and legs.
He maintains he was fully co-operative during the incident, but he was slapped with third degree assault and public intoxication counts, in addition to resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and menacing.
The musician has denied all charges and he has been ordered to return to court on 5 July (13), reports TMZ.com.
The glass shoe fits for Downton Abbey star Lily James - the Brit will play Cinderella in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming movie adaptation of the classic fairytale. The 24 year old, who plays flighty Lady Rose MacClare on the hit period drama, has beaten out the likes of Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan and Dark Shadows beauty Bella Heathcote for the part of the Disney princess in the live-action remake, which is set to be released in 2014.
Actress Cate Blanchett will portray her evil stepmother, while Game of Thrones hunk Richard Madden is in talks to play Prince Charming.
Branagh will start shooting in London later this year (13).
They’ve finally found her! After months of searching for the perfect fit, Disney has found an actress who will slip her feet into the timeless role of the girl who lost her shoe. Walt Disney Studios announced Tuesday that the rags turned riches princess will be played by Lily James in the upcoming live-action interpretation of Cinderella.
The 24-year-old actress, who is best known for her role in Downton Abbey as the rebellious Lady Rose MacClare, will star opposite Cate Blanchett. It was revealed back in November that Blanchett will join the leagues of the wicked women in Hollywood and will play the iconic role of the evil stepmother.
The two leading ladies will be directed by Thor’s Sir Kenneth Branagh and more additional details surrounding the highly anticipated fairytale film will be revealed in the next couple of weeks.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sutton Foster took the stage together. No, they haven't teamed up for a Broadway show, a new television series, or a Modern Family/Bunheads crossover (which would be awesome). But the theater-loving stars came together Tuesday to announce the nominations for the 2013 Tony Awards. (They are the hosts for this year's show, after all, so it only made sense that these two would have the honors of making the big announcement.)
Check out which plays and actors are nominated for Tony Awards for their work on the stage this year.

Rapper R. Prophet has shared graphic photographs of the injuries he allegedly sustained during a clash with police officers on Saturday (20Apr13). The former Nappy Roots star, real name Kenneth Ryan Anthony, was slapped with a slew of charges, including public intoxication, after the incident in Kentucky over the weekend.
Officials claim they Tasered Anthony multiple times when he allegedly resisted arrest, but the rapper tells TMZ.com he was fully co-operative.
Graphic photos showing the extent of the hip-hop star's injuries, which include bloody wrists, a bruised and swollen face and scraped knees and feet, have also been posted on the website.
The rapper was released from custody on Sunday (21Apr13) on a $5,000 (£3,125) bond, and has been charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and assault.
Rapper R. Prophet has been slapped with a slew of charges stemming from a bust-up with cops. The Nappy Roots star was waiting for a pal to pick him up in Kentucky on Saturday (20Apr13) when cops pulled the driver over and arrested him on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
According to TMZ.com, the rapper failed to obey officers' orders to stay at the roadside and had to be Tasered after he became "very aggressive and combative".
The arresting officers also used pepper spray to subdue him when he started lashing out once inside the police cruiser.

Actress Alex Kingston is preparing to tread the boards alongside Kenneth Branagh in a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth. The ER star will tackle the role of Lady Macbeth opposite Branagh as the Scottish king in the production, which will be set inside a deconsecrated church, as part of this year's (13) Manchester International Festival (MIF) in England in July (13).
The play will be directed by Emmy and Tony Award winner Rob Ashford and marks Branagh's first Shakespearean role since he starred as Richard III in Sheffield, England in 2002.
Kingston is no stranger to Shakespeare either - she has previously appeared in stage versions of Much Ado About Nothing and King Lear, but admits she is already nervous about taking up the challenge.
She tells Britain's Daily Mail, "I'm excited - and a bit terrified, as well - about being given the challenge and being pushed. It's going to be a work out, that's for sure. Emotional things are already starting to percolate."
The sold-out production follows James McAvoy's turn in Macbeth at London's Trafalgar Studios which runs until the end of the month (Apr13).
Rising rapper Young Scooter has been arrested in Atlanta, Georgia. The star, who has collaborated with rappers Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame and Chief Keef, was reportedly pulled over on Monday (08Apr13) for driving on a suspended license.
The 27 year old, real name Kenneth Edward Bailey, was later taken into custody and booked at a jail in DeKalb County for violating his 2012 probation, according to Complex.com.
Further details were unavailable as WENN went to press.
