Oscar winner Jared Leto's bandmate brother Shannon has been arrested for DUI. The 30 Seconds to Mars drummer was taken into custody on Monday night (16Jun14) after police spotted his car stalled in Hollywood.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com that Leto showed signs of alleged impairment.
During his booking, police officials discovered the rocker had an outstanding traffic warrant for driving without a licence.
As WENN went to press, Leto was still in custody.
Rihanna was the toast of the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday (01May14), despite arriving late and missing out on accepting the new prizegiving's first ever trophy.
The Umbrella singer found herself stuck in rush-hour traffic and wasn't even at the Shrine Auditorium when she won the night's Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year for Pour it Up. She arrived shortly afterwards and was present to pick up her awards for Best Fan Army, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (Stay). Sporting a gothic look with blue lipstick, a black lace dress, jewelled crucifixes and a new Tank Girl-style hairdo, Rihanna accepted the latter trophy by thanking radio producers for playing the ballad, stating, "This record would never have been this big if it wasn't for you." And accepting her Artist of the Year honour at the end of the night, she added, "Shout out to everybody who has ever worked on my project. I know I'm a pain in the a** - but it's worth it!"
It was also a huge night for Pharrell Williams, who picked up the first-ever iHeartRadio Innovator Award. Presenter Gwen Stefani called her pal "the coolest guy ever", before a series of tributes from stars like Lady Gaga, Usher, Beyonce, Shakira, Oprah Winfrey, and Rita Ora flashed up on video screens. The man of the hour then performed a hits medley, including Blurred Lines, Get Lucky and Happy. Accepting his Innovator Award, the singer/songwriter/producer thanked his wife Helen Lasichanh and son Rocket and added, "I never dreamt in a million years that I'd be standing here as an artist... All I did was write the songs and you guys (fans) did all the heavy lifting, all the hard work, all those millions of views on YouTube... Thank you guys so much for lifting me so high."
Pitbull opened the show by performing Wild Wild Love and Timber without his duet partner Kesha, who has yet to perform for the first time following a stint in rehab earlier this year (14). The track won the couple the Best Collaboration trophy.
Performance highlights also included sets from Bastille, Ariana Grande, Shakira, Kendrick Lamar and 30 Seconds to Mars, who played City of Angels as frontman Jared Leto's accompanying short film featuring stars like Kanye West, Selena Gomez and Lindsay Lohan talking about their love of Los Angeles flashed up on video screens on either side of the stage.
But the night's talking point came when Usher showed off his Michael Jackson moves as he danced along to the King of Pop's new single Love Never Felt So Good, which debuted during the ceremony. As images of the late Thriller star appeared on video screens on the stage and throughout the audience, Usher and a gang of dancers performed the pop superstar's moon walk and other signature moves.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards telecast also featured a series of pre-taped anecdotes about L.A. from the likes of Chris Martin, John Legend, Steven Tyler, Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, Rita Ora, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Iggy Azalea. More than 60 million U.S. radio listeners voted for the awards.
The full list of prizewinners is: Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year - Pour it Up by Rihanna Best Collaboration - Timber by Pitbull & Kesha Best Lyrics - Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus Best New Artist - Lorde Best Fan Army - Rihanna's Navy Song of the Year - Stay by Rihanna Alternative Rock Song of the Year - Demons by Imagine Dragons Young Influencer Award - Ariana Grande Instagram Award - Austin Mahone EDM (Electronic Dance Music) Song of the Year - Wake Me Up by Avicii & Aloe Blacc Country Song of the Year - Boys 'Round Here by Blake Shelton Artist of the Year - Rihanna
Courtney Love would like to erase her memory of performing at the 2010 Edgefest in Texas, because she had to play at noon ahead of Limp Bizkit and 30 Seconds To Mars. The rocker admits the event was a career low point for her.
She recalls, "(I was) first on the bill (and) I didn't even put makeup on. (30 Seconds to Mars singer) Jared Leto is standing there with his pink mohawk after our set, and he goes, 'Hey, pretty lady'. And I was like, 'Jared, I know you're a rock star... but I can't stick around to see you play.'"
SLASH and Aerosmith are heading out on the road together this summer (14) after announcing plans for a huge North American tour. The Let Rock Rule trek will begin in New York on 10 July (14) and end two months later (Sep14) in Canada.
The two acts confirmed dates during a press conference at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles on Tuesday (08Apr14), during which Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler told fans and the media, "Looking forward to inciting a riot and building the tribal bonfire even higher - it's a win win with Slash."
The former Guns N' Roses guitarist added, "Aerosmith is one of my all time favourite bands, and one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time. It's an honour for me to go out and tour with them and keep the rock 'n' roll banner flying high."
Reports of the tour first surfaced last week (ends04Apr14) when Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry took to the streets of Los Angeles with graffiti artist Risk and 'tagged' various buildings with his band's logo, and the tour announcement date of 4.8.14. Drummer Joey Kramer hit buildings in Downtown Austin, Texas for a similar stunt with artist Chunk.
Slash and Aerosmith aren't the only big-name double act hitting the road in America and Canada this summer - Linkin Park will join 30 Seconds to Mars for a string of dates; KISS and Def Leppard have teamed up, and last week (ends04Apr14), Jeff Beck and ZZ Top announced plans for a co-headlining tour.
Guitar greats Jeff Beck and Billy Gibbons have become the latest rock icons to team up for a U.S. tour. Beck will join Gibbons' band ZZ Top on the road for a five-week summer trek, which begins in Montana on 8 August (14) and wraps up in The Woodlands, Texas a month later (12Sep14).
Each show will feature full sets from both acts and close with a collaboration.
Gibbons and Beck joined forces at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2009 to perform Jimi Hendrix's Foxy Lady and ZZ Top's Rough Boy, and in 2010, Beck joined Gibbons and his bandmates onstage during a show in Lucca, Italy.
Beck will be 70 when the new tour kicks off - his birthday is 24 June (14).
The rockers' trek won't be the only hot double act ticket this summer - Linkin Park will tour with 30 Seconds to Mars and Kiss will hit the road with Def Leppard.

"I don't dive into the mosh pit any more. It's the fastest way to lose your penis. And I'm proud to say mine is still intact." Rocker/actor Jared Leto has given up stagediving during gigs with his band 30 Seconds To Mars.

It can be hard to take an actor seriously when he or she decides to switch gears and become a musician. Even the Real Housewives have opted to release songs available exclusively on iTunes. However, every so often, an actor or celebrity will shock you with their ability to hold a tune or at least produce a booty-shaking song.
This August: Osage County star has been acting since she was a child. However, in 2003 she formed the band Julliette & the Licks and proved that she also had music in her soul. The band captured '70s rock, '80s punk, and '90s alternative into a neat little package. The band broke up in 2009, but Lewis went on to released an additional solo album. Although her fame comes primarily from her roles in films like Natural Born Killers, Lewis has proven herself a part of rock music with multiple successful tours and albums.
Murphy was a gifted actress who we'll always remember for films like Clueless, 8 Mile, and Sin City, but she tried her had at a few forays into music as well. Murphy sang vocals on Paul Oakenfold’s “Faster Kill Pussycat,” which became an international dance hit. She also sang some songs on the Happy Feet, soundtrack including Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Boogie Wonderland.” There’s no telling that had Murphy had the chance she would have released her own album and found success in the world of music.
McGowan is not the first person you’d think about when you think of music, though she did have a short engagement to Marilyn Manson. However, she has released a few songs. She provided vocals for the dance song “Superfabulous” by BT. She also sang in an episode of Charmed and a few songs for the Planet Terror soundtrack. Like her Bettie Page looks, her throaty soft voice is a throwback to days past.
Meester ruled television as teen fashion icon Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl. However, she has the potential to rule the music charts too. Although she hasn’t released her own album she has produced some pretty amazing songs. She sang “Somebody to Love” with a pre-“Blurred Lines” Robin Thicke. She also sang on the Cobra Starship song “Good Girls Go Bad.” She also sang her own songs for the film Country Strong.
Before Osbourne became the fashion icon on Fashion Police and after her punky album Shut Up, Osbourne released Sleeping in the Nothing. It offered a more thoughtful, and on-trend electroclash style. She proved herself to be a viable musician with the song “One Word.”
Banks’ attempts at acting and television hosting may be questionable. However, in Season 2 of America’s Next Top Model she premiered a song that was so painfully catchy that it’s a wonder that she never released an album. Seriously... Tyra lasted painfully long but her music career lasted just one episode. As you can see, her singing voice is way better than her ability to ask serious questions.
Ali made a name for herself as the plucky daughter Ashley on Fresh Prince of Bel Air. She shattered her child star image with a run as a sexy R&B singer. Her album Kiss the Sky has proven that she’s a legitimate R&B songstress.
Sagal has had a ton of success on television with multiple successful series. Before her days as Peg Bundy, Sagal began her career as a singer and sang back-up for Bette Midler, Tanya Tucker, and Bob Dylan. She has also released two albums Well... and Room. She’s proven that not only does she have the golden touch with comedy, she has an amazing singing voice.
Leto has found a ton of notoriety with Dallas Buyers Club. He has proven himself an actor and a heartrhob, but he’s also the face of his well known band 30 Seconds to Mars. The multi-talented figure has a rocking voice that had led his band to notable success.
Singer/actor Jared Leto showed his support for the citizens fighting for political change in Ukraine at his band 30 Seconds To Mars' concert in Kiev on Wednesday (12Mar14). Last month's (Feb14) violent clashes between anti-government protesters and police in the capital city failed to keep the Closer to the Edge hitmakers away from Kiev, where they were booked for two shows at the Sports Palace.
The band arrived in Kiev on Tuesday (11Mar14) and took the stage at the venue on Wednesday night (13Mar14), when Leto offered his support to those fighting for a new nation.
The Oscar winner said, "You guys are in the midst of something really beautiful and it may be difficult, but there's no price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
"And I want to let you know, I understand other bands have cancelled their shows, but there was no f**king way, no f**king way 30 Seconds to Mars wasn't going to be here in this beautiful city, in this great country here tonight."
Leto then dedicated a song to the "true believers out there," and even waved the Ukraine flag while leading the audience in a 'Glory to Ukraine!' chant.
Prior to the concert, Leto was spotted visiting Kiev's Independence Square to pay his respects to the protesters who died in the violent clashes with local police, which claimed the lives of more than 80 people.
Leto's visit to the Ukraine comes less than two weeks after he mentioned the country's freedom fighters in a moving acceptance speech at the Oscars following his win for Best Supporting Actor for Dallas Buyers Club.
He said, "To all the dreamers around the world watching this tonight in places like the Ukraine and Venezuela, I wanna say we are here, and as you struggle to make your dreams happen, to live the impossible, we're thinking of you tonight."
30 Seconds to Mars played their second Kiev concert on Thursday (13Mar14), and are heading to Russia for four shows, beginning on Friday (14Mar14).
Oscar winner Jared Leto took time out of his busy schedule to film a special birthday message to new pal Liza Minnelli on Tuesday (11Mar14). The Dallas Buyers Club actor was on a flight bound for the Ukraine when he shot the brief video and wished the Cabaret star a happy 68th. The message was played to Minnelli on Wednesday (12Mar14) as she celebrated her birthday on America's Today show. Leto is in the Ukraine for a 30 Seconds to Mars gig in Kiev.
