The famous Brazilian event will be held at Las Vegas' MGM Resort and feature previously announced headliners Taylor Swift, Metallica, No Doubt and John Legend, among others.
"I would date someone, figure out we weren't compatible or figure out we didn't work out, and then we'd break up. That seems like a very normal thing for a young 20-something to do." Taylor Swift insists there is nothing unusual about her dating life. The pop star has become known for her string of high-profile romances with exes including Joe Jonas, John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles.
Celebrities including Britney Spears, Pharrell Williams, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran helped raise $23.2 million (£14.5 million) during the U.K. Stand Up To Cancer telethon on Friday (17Oct14).
The "Toxic" hitmaker took part in a sketch called "Andy Murray: The Movie", in which celebrities were auditioning for parts in the upcoming biopic of the Scottish tennis player's life. Spears tried out for the role of Murray's girlfriend Kim Sears with a fake Cockney accent, while Williams tried a Scottish twang as he auditioned for Murray. Others trying out for parts included Ed Sheeran, who played "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by Scottish group The Proclaimers, while Andy Serkis filmed his audition in a motion capture suit. Swift took on British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver for a 'bake it off' competition sketch, where they were supposed to each make a chocolate cake. However, Oliver began singing and dancing to a revamped version of her new single Shake It Off and the pair ended up pulling funny moves and throwing food around.
British rocker Noel Gallagher teamed up with supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell for a celebrity version of Gogglebox, where viewers are filmed watching TV. The trio watched reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor and gave a comedic running commentary. Will Ferrell appeared as his Anchorman character Ron Burgundy, giving a news report on cancer, Sherlock star Martin Freeman took part in a magic card trick with celebrity illusionist Derren Brown, and Nicole Scherzinger and John Legend were interviewed during a live taping of chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man. Taylor Swift gave funnyman John Cleese a taste of her stern, feminist side when he poked fun at women during an appearance on Britain's Graham Norton Show on Friday night (10Oct14). The two stars were bonding over their love of cats when the Monty Python star criticised her pet, Olivia Benson, asking, "How did it have the accident?" before adding, "That's the funniest looking cat I've ever seen", when Cleese told host Norton why he preferred cats to dogs.
He said, "They're unpredictable and cussed - like women."
Swift shot him a stern look and said, "Ooh, we don't wanna do that..."
Cleese previously admitted he was looking forward to joining Swift on Norton's sofa, tweeting, "I am looking forward to discussing cats with @taylorswift13 on @TheGNShow. She has 2, I have 3."
The Help director Tate Taylor is developing a TV adaptation of 1967 film In The Heat Of The Night. The filmmaker has teamed up with bosses at America's Showtime network to reboot the Oscar-winning film starring Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger. Taylor will write, direct and executive produce the project.
The 1967 feature film was based on the 1965 John Ball novel which told the story of a white police chief and black police detective collaborating to solve a murder in a racist small town in Mississippi, which happens to be Taylor's home state.
The movie won five Academy Awards including Best Picture, and it was later adapted into a TV series starring Carroll O'Connor and Howard Rollins that ran for seven seasons until 1994.
In the Heat of the Night marks the latest TV project for Taylor, who is making his small screen directing debut with the highly-anticipated Netflix comedy Grace & Frankie, starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
Pop star Taylor Swift is refraining from jumping back into the dating game until she meets the "one-in-a-million" man of her dreams.
The Love Story hitmaker has been taking a break from romance in recent months after enjoying a long list of high-profile relationships with beaus including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Joe Jonas, and she admits spending time by herself and with close friends and family has given her a whole new perspective on life. She tells People magazine, "I used to be fascinated by romance. Now I'm more realistic... The last couple of years have been about defining life on my own terms. Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try. It's a really liberating and freeing time."
But that doesn't mean Swift has given up on finding lasting love - instead, she is choosing to wait for 'The One' as the thought of facing the paparazzi to date a new string of suitors gives her a panic attack.
She explains, "I'm not going to compromise the happiness and independence that I've found for just anybody. The idea of a date gives me a partial panic attack! It includes 40 paparazzi cameras shooting through windows at us, and that's not relaxing or alluring for me. That makes me want to crawl under the couch and hide! But I'm fine! I have two cats, that's all I need. "It would take an astonishing human being for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different - a kind of one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. "I don't have any kind of idea who I'd want to be with, because I don't have any pieces missing from my life right now. I'm not looking for anything to complete me. I think that's a nice place to be."
"I am looking forward to discussing cats with @taylorswift13 on @TheGNShow. She has 2, I have 3." Funnyman John Cleese is excited about his upcoming TV encounter with fellow cat lover Taylor Swift on Britain's Graham Norton Show.
