Supermodel Kate Upton was reprimanded by her baseball star beau Justin Verlander for trying to cheer him up before a big game.
The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model thought that she'd be a tonic for her glum boyfriend, who is the star pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, and so she started telling him jokes. She says, "He didn't tell me before, so he'd seem like he was in a bad mood before he pitched, so I'd be like, 'Joke, joke, joke, joke, joke,' trying to cheer him up. And then he got mad at me. He was like, 'Stop making me laugh! I'm trying to be angry'."
Upton admits the romance has led to problems at her beloved Yankees Stadium - and she has been told she cannot wear Tigers caps or gear there.
She explains, "I'm sleeping with the enemy... and the Yankees told me, 'You're not allowed to wear a Tigers hat. You're not allowed to wear any Tigers gear'. It's like a bad break-up."

Tracy Morgan's attorney has rubbished reports the comedian is in good health, insisting he is "still struggling" following his major car crash earlier this year (14).
The former Saturday Night Live star was hospitalised in June (14) when the limousine he was travelling in was hit by a Wal-Mart truck, killing his good friend James McNair and leaving Morgan in a critical condition.
The funnyman entered a rehabilitation facility last month (Jul14) to recover from his injuries, which included a broken leg and rib, and he was later pictured on his feet with a walker and reportedly said, "I feel strong".
However, his attorney Benedict Morelli has slammed the reports, telling U.S. TV show Today, "He's still struggling, but he's a fighter and he's had issues before that he's fought through and he's fighting hard... The interesting thing is at the beginning, the Internet was saying that he was dead, that he had lost a leg... there were all kinds of false reports. Now it's coming out that he's doing great, none of those things are true or accurate."
Morelli is suing sued Wal-Mart bosses for being careless and negligent and claimed in the lawsuit the company should have known driver Kevin Roper had allegedly been awake for more than 24 hours. Roper has pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto.
Lindsay Lohan is searching for a ghost writer for her tell-all autobiography - and top of her wish-list is Fifty Shades Of Grey author E.L. James.
The Mean Girls star reportedly impressed publishing bosses when she met with them in London and hinted at the celebrity stories she can recount.
The troubled actress is reportedly now seeking a high-profile ghost writer to help her tell her tales, with James a prime target.
A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Lindsay held meetings at major publishing houses in London recently - and the stories she promised the literary agents made their jaws drop. She's prepared to put everything out there and has already proved she's not shy with the list of men she claims to have slept with."
"Lindsay is now looking for a ghost writer. It may seem unlikely, but she think she's in with a shot of getting E.L. James to work on it - they met recently at (London celebrity hangout) the Chiltern Firehouse and got on well. Another pie in the sky idea was that she might persuade (Harry Potter author) J.K. Rowling to work with her."
In March (14) a list of celebrity men Lohan claims to have slept with, which the actress made during a stay in a rehabilitation centre, leaked.
The actress first revealed plans to pen her memoirs in 2010.

There's a pretty good chance you had heard of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and for certain the Hulk prior to their big screen debuts in the Marvel cinematic canon. But the Guardians of the Galaxy are a more esoteric lot. Only those well versed in the publishing company's history will approach this weekend's feature film with any familiarity with Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), or Groot (Vin Diesel). But rest assured: they've been around. And if you dig them in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy (which we sure did — check out our review), you'll have the opportunity to check them out elsewhere.
Granted, James Gunn's film does do its share of reinventing in regards to its central fivesome. Well-read fans might notice a new take on Peter Quill's backstory or Drax's species, and newcomers could discover some inconsistencies upon pursuing extracurricular material in light of their blossoming love affairs with the Guardians. But the spirit of the heroes is very much alive in Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, ditto many of the features and TV series listed below. As such, embrace your affection for the oddball quintet and check out any and all works that will allow you more time with the gang. Here's where to begin:
Planet HulkStar-Lord and Gamora both appear in the 2010 direct-to-video animated film (which has been tossed around the Internet discussion boards as viable source material for upcoming Avengers movies), but without speaking parts.
The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest HeroesAiring on May 6, 2012 (funnily enough, the same weekend that The Avengers hit theaters), the animated series' episode "Michael Korvac" featured Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot as temporary foes of the series' heroes — a league including, at this point, Iron Man, the Hulk, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel — when a battle is waged over the capture/safety of the mysterious titular individual. In the episode, voice actors Steve Downes, Greg Ellis, and Troy Baker voice Star-Lord, Rocket, and Groot respectively.
Ultimate Spider-ManThe entire gang banded together (and with a pretty impressive team of vocie actors) for the animated series' aptly named July 2013 episode "Guardians of the Galaxy." The aforementioned Korvac returns as an intergalactic menace with an army of Chitauri, forcing Spider-Man to seek the assistance of the Guardians in the interest of his defeat. Star-Lord is voiced by Marvel regular Chris Cox, Gamora by comedian Nika Futterman, Drax by David Sobolov, Rocket by Billy West (the voice behind Doug Funnie and Futurama's Philip J. Fry), and Groot by the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
Avengers AssembleJust this past April, we got to see all five Guardians take center stage on this animated series' episode "Guardians and Space Knights." Iron Man leads the rest of the Avengers to a distant planet, where they and the Guardians of the Galaxy join forces to stop an impending attack from Galactus. Voice actors Chris Cox, Nika Futterman, and David Sobolov return; meanwhile, Rocket earns the familiar voice of actor and geek icon Seth Green, and Groot is portrayed by Kevin Michael Richardson.
Hulk Agents of S.M.A.S.H.An upcoming episode of the animated series will feature the whole gang back together again, with returning voice actors Cox, Futterman, Sobolov, Green, and Richardson.
And, for a bit of a throwback...
Silver Surfer Gamora makes a few appearances in this late '90s animated series, the first of which being in the two-part episode "Learning Curve," which also featured Drax the Destroyer... albeit a very different version: he was an android, and the servant to the Titanian leader Mentor. Together with Silver Surfer and his pal Pip, Drax helps to stop Thanos (hey, he's in the movie too!) from taking over the universe. Gamora would later show up in episodes "Antibody" and "Radical Justice." In this series, Drax is voiced by Noam Spencer and Gamora is voiced by Mary Long and Alison Sealy-Smith.
But before you check out any of these entries, see the film in theaters now!

James Franco pranked his brother Dave Franco by posting a fake photo on his Instagram.com account suggesting the actor is in a relationship with Zac Efron.
The Spider-Man star shared an image of a fake article from a gossip website with the headline 'Zac Efron Dating Neighbors Co-Star Dave Franco'.
The actor captioned the image, "Effron (sic) and My brother, dating!!!!!! Congrats (sic), boys! I'm so happy for you!!!"
The fake image was taken from a fan's Instagram account and had been Photoshopped to look like a real gossip article. Dave Franco starred alongside Efron in comedy movie Neighbors.
Taylor Swift turned love guru by doling out advice to a fan who asked the singer for dating tips on Instagram.com.
A fan called Hannah left a comment under one of the Love Story hitmaker's pictures on the photosharing app earlier this week (22Jul14), writing to Swift about a boy she likes who has a girlfriend of his own.
She wrote, "There's a guy Taylor... who I have the biggest crush in the whole wide world on, and he'll never like me back... @taylorswift can you give me some advice maybe. I love you."
The music superstar, who has had her fair share of public relationships, surprisingly wrote back a sincere note back to Hannah with her advice on what to do in the situation.
Swift wrote, "About this guy. I think we grow up thinking the only love that counts as true love is the kind that lasts forever or is fully realized. When you have a broken heart, the first thing a stranger will ask is 'how long were you two together?' As if your pain can be determined by how long you were with someone. Or if you were with them at all."
"I don't think that's how it works. I think unrequited love is just as valid as any other kind. It's just as crushing and just as thrilling. No matter what happens in this situation, I want you to remember that what you are doing is selfless and beautiful and kind. You are loving someone purely because you love them, not because you think you'll ever have your affections reciprocated. You are admiring something for its beauty, without needing to own it."
"Feel good about being the kind of person who loves selflessly. I think someday you'll find someone who loves you in that exact same way."
A flabbergasted Hannah wrote back, "You have no idea how much this means to me, thank you. You understand and that means so much. I feel like you're the big sister I don't have. Thank you, I really did need to hear that from you."
Rock icon Billy Joel is set to be honoured with America's prestigious Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
The Piano Man star has been selected as the 2014 recipient of the Library of Congress award, which is named after iconic composer George Gershwin and celebrates the lifetime achievements of a living musical artist.
Librarian of Congress James H. Billington says, "Billy Joel is a storyteller of the highest order. There is an intimacy to his songwriting that bridges the gap between the listener and the worlds he shares through music. When you listen to a Billy Joel song, you know about the people and the place and what happened there. And while there may be pain, despair and loss, there is ultimately a resilience to it that makes you want to go to these places again and again."
"Importantly, as with any good storyteller, the recognition experienced in a Billy Joel song is not simply because these are songs we have heard so many times, but because we see something of ourselves in them."
A flattered Joel adds, "The great composer, George Gershwin, has been a personal inspiration to me throughout my career and the Library's decision to include me among those songwriters who have been past recipients is a milestone for me."
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member will be presented with the accolade at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. in November (14).
Previous recipients include Paul Simon, Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Carole King, who made history last year (13) as the first woman to ever claim the Gershwin Prize.
Sir Mick Jagger has opened up about the death of his girlfriend L'Wren Scott in a new TV interview, admitting it has been a "hard year" and he threw himself into work to cope.
The Rolling Stones frontman was asked about the tragedy during an interview on America's Today show, which aired on Friday (18Jul14) to promote the new James Brown biopic Get On Up that the singer produced.
Jagger looked sombre as he revealed he threw himself into work to deal with the pain of Scott's death. He said, "I'm doing okay. It's difficult. (It's been a) very hard year, but I got back into it by working on touring with the Stones in Europe and doing other things, including doing this great movie... (I've had) a lot of support... and I appreciate that."
Jagger was on tour with the band in Australia when his long-term partner took her own life at her apartment in New York City in March (14), prompting the group to postpone shows in Australia and New Zealand.
The veteran singer returned to the stage in Norway in May (14).

Alec Baldwin is leading the tributes to his TV mum, stage and screen legend Elaine Stritch, following her death on Thursday (17Jul14). The actor worked with the Two's Company star on his hit sitcom 30 Rock, in which Stritch played his sharp-tongued mother Colleen Donaghy - a role which won her an Emmy Award in 2007.
And he was among the first celebrities to honour her memory on Twitter.com on Thursday as the news of her passing broke. Sharing an article about the loss of the 89 year old, Baldwin writes, "A woman that I loved and admired, and a true one in a million, has gone to her rest."
Girls creator and star Lena Dunham celebrated Stritch's lengthy career by making reference to her Tony-nominated Broadway performance of The Ladies Who Lunch from Stephen Sondheim's 1970 musical Company, tweeting, "Here's to the lady who lunched: Elaine Stritch, we love you. May your heaven be a booze-soaked, no-pants solo show at the Carlyle (New York hotel she once called home). Thank you".
Meanwhile, singer Josh Groban remembered the veteran actress as "one of a kind and just the wittiest", and Anna Kendrick added, "Elaine Stritch man. Hell of a performer, spirit and woman. This one really hurts. Today's work is for you ma'am. Crazy love."
Early tributes have also poured in from the likes of Christina Applegate, James Van Der Beek and writer/director Joss Whedon.

A project involving Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio sounds almost too good to be true. And in a way, it is.
According to Variety, Bale is currently in the final stages of signing on to work with DiCaprio in the film adaptation of Travis McGee's The Deep Blue Goodbye. DiCaprio was initially expected to star in the movie (back when we first heard about it in 2010), but now he's on the team of producers (with Appian Way) while Bale is in talks to take the lead role.
This movie has been a long time coming, but it sounds like it's finally headed for production. And while it's a bit disappointing that we won't get to see the two great stars on screen together, their names on the project—along with director James Mangold (Walk The Line, The Wolverine, and Girl, Interrupted)—give us high hopes.
