Actress Cheryl Hines will exchange vows with Robert Kennedy, Jr. on Saturday (02Aug14), according to the groom's cousin. Former congressman Patrick Kennedy has confirmed the couple will wed at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
The Curb Your Enthusiasm actress became engaged to Kennedy in April (14). Kathleen Kennedy, her stepdaughter-to-be, recently told the New York Daily News the wedding will be a "secret affair, very private".
Kennedy is son of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy and the late Senator Edward Kennedy. This will be his third marriage.
Documentary filmmaker and cinema verite pioneer Robert Drew has died, aged 90. The veteran director passed away at his home in Sharon, Connecticut on Wednesday morning (30Jul14).
While the cause of his death has yet to be revealed, his son Thatcher Drew says in a statement that his dad "had been declining for some time and it was not completely unexpected".
Drew began his career as a correspondent and editor for Life Magazine and also served as a pilot during World War II. His combined experiences helped him develop his signature style of cinema verite filmmaking, a genre which features observational filming in order to capture reality, which has since become a staple in documentary filmmaking.
After founding his film company Drew Associates in the early 1960s, he created more than 100 films on social issues, politics and the arts, and is considered the "father" of cinema verite.
Drew also developed lightweight cameras, and his popular film Primary, which followed U.S. President John F. Kennedy and opponent Hubert Humphrey during the 1960 Wisconsin presidential primary, was the first film to ever use a sync-sound motion picture camera.
Over his five-decade career, he also directed such films as The Chair, Faces of November, From Two Men and a War, and Man Who Dances, for which he won an Emmy in 1968.
In addition to his numerous awards from various organisations and film festivals, six of Drew's films are archived at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and two are in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
He is survived by three children and three grandchildren. His wife Anne, who frequently collaborated with him for his films, passed away in 2012.
A man has been arrested after breaking into the Kennedy family estate in Massachusetts in the hope of spotting pop star Katy Perry. Police were called to the Hyannis Port home of America's famous Kennedy clan on Tuesday night (15Jul14) after lawyer Ted Kennedy, Jr., nephew of late President John F. Kennedy, phoned the property's landline to check on his teenage son, only for the intruder, James Lacroix, to answer instead.
Lacroix, 53, was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering.
A spokesperson for Barnstable Police tells TMZ.com there was no sign of forced entry and reveals the suspect had allegedly walked into the compound through an unlocked door. He started cooking dinner and was later found by cops sitting on a couch, reading a book.
Kennedy, Jr.'s son reportedly thought Lacroix was just a house guest.
It is not known why Lacroix thought singer Perry would be present at the estate, but authorities claim he was clearly "detatched from reality".

Tony Award winners Kate Burton and Victoria Clark will also take part in the reading.
Hudgens' only other professional theatre credit came in 2010, when she played Mimi Marquez in the Hollywood Bowl production of hit musical Rent in Los Angeles.

Actor and activist Christopher Kennedy Lawford has married his yoga teacher fiance in Hawaii. Kennedy's sister Patricia, wed Mercedes Miller, 34, during a ceremony in Maui on Sunday (25May14).
The union is Kennedy Lawford's second - he divorced first wife Jeannie Olsson, the mother of his three children, in 2000, after 16 years of marriage.

A sale of letters written by former U.S. First Lady Jackie Kennedy has been called off following an intervention by her family. A collection of personal notes penned by President John F. Kennedy's wife to Joseph Leonard, a Dublin-based priest, were due to go under the hammer in Ireland on 10 June (14).
The sale, which was to benefit Dublin's All Hallows College, had been expected to bring in more than $1.3 million (£812,000), but it has now been halted at the request of Kennedy's daughter Caroline and her family, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
The publication reports the Kennedy family wants the letters to be preserved for their historical value, while an ownership dispute has also played a part in the decision to stop the sale.
All Hallows College spokeswoman Carolanne Henry tells America's NBC News, "(Ownership of the letters) was a factor in the auction being cancelled, because they were not ours to sell. That, and the introduction of the Kennedy family into the proceedings."
A will made out by Leonard is said to show he left the letters to his Catholic order rather than the college as previously believed. The college has been suffering financial troubles in recent years, and its planned closure was announced on Friday (23May14).
Taylor Swift seems to be in a dating rut. The country-pop superstar has largely been hanging out with pals like Lorde and Karlie Kloss over the last year, leaving the relationship drama to friends (or former friends) like Ed Sheeran and Selena Gomez. There have been rumors that she was dating Zach Braff or Divergent's Theo James, but both turned out to be false. While it's probably good that Swift is spending some time without a male companion and getting to know herself better — she's still young after all — we're jonesing for the days when her dating habits were fodder for tabloids and the basis for her songs. Since we don't have anything new to talk about, we've decided to look backwards. Swift has had plenty of boyfriends over the years, but who's your favorite?
When the Jonas Brothers were first a thing and Swift was bursting onto the scene, there was a tour bus romance. While he has taken a couple of veiled shots at Swift for her habit of taking out her relationship pains out in her songs, instead of throwing her under the bus the way that he did with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, he's largely been complimentary of his ex.
The duo had a brief fling while filming Valentine's Day, where they played a cute jock-cheerleader couple. The face of Twilight's Team Jacob is now dating The 100 star Marie Avgeropoulos, but for a brief time the Taylor-Taylor combo was adorable.
It was the coupling that was so crazy that it made sense. Mayer is 12 years older and came in with his own set of dating issues… he's the (far) less innocent male version of Swift. As with all of either singer's past relationships, the pairing was fairly brief but they both at least came away with great fodder for new lyrics.
The grandson of Robert F. Kennedy enjoyed some summer loving from Swift when he was 18 and she was 23. Like all great summer flings, it ended with the start of the school year.
Swift's other dalliance with an older man — Gyllenhaal is nine years her senior — led to exceedingly sweet paparazzi photos of the two enjoying morning walks around New York. They were together enough that she reportedly scored an introduction to Jake's epically cool sister Maggie Gyllenhaal. That alone would make the whole thing worth it to us.
Then there was Swift's other younger gentleman, the One Direction cutie. The two dated for a few months into the early part of 2013, until they broke up after a fight while taking a Caribbean holiday. While they've reportedly been polite to each other while making the party rounds, it seems that Styles might irritate Swift more than the other exes. Some were shocked when Swift appeared to mouth "Shut the f**k up" in reference to Styles talking to reporters at the 2013 MTV VMAs.
All of Swift's ex-boyfriends have a certain amount of appeal — otherwise she probably wouldn’t have dated them — but the two that stand out above the rest are the "bad boy" John Mayer and the "boy toy" Harry Styles. Vote below to tell us which ex, Mayer or Styles, you think Swift will most regret never, ever getting back together with.
