An Orange Is The New Black writer who realised she was gay on the set of the hit prison drama has filed for divorce after falling in love with one of the show's stars. Lauren Morelli and her husband, Steve Basilone, have jointly filed to end their two-year marriage just three months after she opened up about her sexuality in an essay she wrote for Identities.Mic in May (14).
Morelli wrote, "I realized I was gay in fall 2012, one of my first days on the set. While Writing for Orange Is the New Black, I Realized I Am Gay.
"Five months after my wedding, I flew to New York to start production on my first episode of Orange, and from that moment on my life fell into a parallel rhythm with (lead characters) Piper's story in a way that went from interesting to terrifying in a matter of months."
It took an intimate scene between lesbian characters Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) and Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) for Morelli to really come to terms with her sexuality.
She adds, "I was nervous about the first love scene I'd written for Alex and Piper. I loved writing it, loved watching a tenderness emerge in their relationship where passion always seemed to be the ruling principle, but by that time, I was so deep in my own self-doubt that I constantly felt like a fraud. I was sure it was bleeding into my writing. How could it not? I was married to a man, but I wasn't straight."
Since coming out, she has been snapped holding hands and kissing Samira Wiley, who plays frustrated lesbian character Poussey Washington on the show, and the new couple has posted shots of themselves together on Instagram.com.
Pop star Taylor Swift flew out of Britain's Luton Airport while the terminal was in security lockdown due to a bomb scare.
Thousands of passengers were evacuated from the airport and all flights were cancelled for more than four hours on Monday (08Sep14) due to a suspicious package in the terminal. However, the security alert did not affect the Love Story hitmaker - her luxury private jet was cleared for take-off as commercial airline passengers were standing outside the main building with their luggage.
She was even driven to the far side of the main terminal in a convoy before jetting out of the U.K. back to the U.S. An airport spokesman tells British newspaper The Sun, "All of the arriving flights were suspended... However, there were three flights on the ground that were permitted to fly. Two of them were commercial." Swift's spokeswoman adds, "She wasn't making her way to a commercial flight."
Taylor Swift has broken her ex-boyfriends' hearts all over again by revealing she wasn't in love with any of them.
The singer, who lists Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Mayer and Joe Jonas among her past flames, tells the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine that she never thought she'd have a lasting romance with her famous exes. She says, "(It wasn't) real love. Not the kind that lasts. I think that's still ahead of me, which is really exciting."
And, opening up about her much-publicised dating life, the Love Story hitmaker admits she was too idealistic as she entered into her past romances, adding, "I used to go into them thinking, 'Maybe this is the one, we'll get married and have a family; this could be forever'. Whereas now I go in thinking, 'How long do we have on the clock before something comes along and puts a wrench in it, or your publicist calls and says this isn't a good idea?'"
Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Jessica Chastain are among the stars who have taken to the Internet to mark 13 years since the terrorist atrocities of 9/11. New York City was devastated by the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on 11 September, 2001, which - along with a downed airliner in Pennsylvania on the same day - claimed almost 3,000 lives.
Some of the world's biggest stars joined together on Thursday (11Sep14) to mark 13 years since the horrifying events, with pop superstar Lady Gaga writing in a post on her Twitter.com page, "Today we remember and honour all the lives + families ruined by the tragedy of 9/11. Practice love in their memory today #WeWillNeverForget (sic)."
Fellow singer Taylor Swift reveals she recently visited the 9/11 memorial site in New York City and it had a profound effect on her: "Visiting the @Sept11Memorial this year was something I'll never forget, in memory of a day we will always remember with tears in our eyes."
Hollywood actress Chastain urged fans to visit the 9/11 memorial museum in the Big Apple, tweeting, "Today the 9/11 museum is open to the public. We remember the lives that were lost this day 13 years ago."
LeAnn Rimes simply writes, "September 11 #NeverForget #September11 (sic)," while actor Gary Sinise adds, "Remembering all those lost in terrorist attack 13 years ago, and remembering with gratitude all who have stepped up to serve. Never Forget."
Other tributes have come in from singer Chris Brown, hip-hop stars Missy Elliott and Queen Latifah, music mogul Russell Simmons, rocker Bret Michaels, and John Stamos, Alyssa Milano, Gabrielle Union and singer Chely Wright.
Actress Liv Tyler is pregnant with her second child, according to new reports.
The Armageddon star went public with her romance to soccer agent Dave Gardner last month (Aug14), and now the couple, who was introduced by Kate Moss, is expecting a child together, according to E! News.
Tyler has a nine-year-old son with her ex-husband Royston Langdon and Gardner was previously married to British actress Davinia Taylor.
Tyler, 37, was photographed in New York City on Wednesday (10Sep14) attempting to cover up what appeared to be a growing baby bump. The actress' representatives have yet to confirm the baby news.
Maroon 5 have returned to the top of the U.S. album charts.
Newlywed Adam Levine's band has debuted V at number one, beating out rapper Young Jeezy's Seen It All: The Autobiography by over 40,000 first-week sales.
Maroon 5 last topped the Billboard 200 in 2007 with It Won't Be Soon Before Long.
The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack returns to the top three at three, while late reggae legend Bob Marley posthumously scores his highest-charting album ever, as his re-released greatest hits package, Legend, jumps up 95 spots on the new chart to number five. The album was originally released in 1984, and last hit a chart high at 18 in 2012. Marley previously charted high in 1976 when his album Rastaman Vibration peaked at eight.
Meanwhile, on America's Billboard Hot 100 chart, Meghan Trainor has ended Taylor Swift's reign at number one by taking All About That Bass to the top. Swift's Shake It Off, which previously spent two weeks at number one, falls a spot to two, while Nicki Minaj's Anaconda stays put at three for a second week.
Welsh actor Michael Sheen is to direct and star in a special stage performance of Dylan Thomas' play Under Milk Wood. The Masters of Sex star will perform alongside Scandal actress Kate Burton, the daughter of late actor Richard Burton, during the one-off production at the 92nd Street Y community centre in New York, where the play first premiered in 1953.
Sheen will read the part of First Voice, the role Thomas played during the original read-through of the drama about the residents of a Welsh fishing village.
The free performance will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Wales on 26 October (14), the eve of the centenary of Thomas's birth.
Sheen says, "To perform it again and give it new life in the same place where it was first born really, then that's incredibly thrilling and very moving... And for it to go out at the same time on the radio in Wales, knowing that everyone in Wales will be able to listen to it at the same moment as people in New York are able to sit and listen to it as well, it's terrific."
Sheen took on the First Voice role for a BBC Wales TV adaptation in May (14). Richard Burton also played the part in the 1972 film version opposite his on/off wife Dame Elizabeth Taylor.
Actress-turned-rocker Taylor Momsen and her group Pretty Reckless have made history in America by becoming the first female-fronted band to score number ones with their first two hits on the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
The band's Messed Up World hit the top spot on Thursday (04Sep14), almost six months after Heaven Knows reached number one on the countdown.
Only two other female-led bands, Halestorm and The Pretenders, have hit the top of the charts, and before Halestorm's Freak Like Me reached number one last year (13), the last female to make her way to the top was Alannah Myles in 1990.

Odds have it that you’ve been put off by Joan Rivers at one point or another. Just a few weeks back, before health problems took way for the 81-year-old comedian, a good chunk of society took umbrage with a her expression of antipathy for the Palestinian civilians killed in a military attack. Throughout her years in film, television, the stage, and every red carpet we can remember, Rivers has taken heat for a wide variety of jokes that the world deemed too crass, insensitive, or otherwise politically incorrect. But Joan, who believed in comedy above all else — whose principal devotion was not to any one individual, group, or political leaning, but to the very idea of the laugh — never let up.
Rivers must have understood that this was the kind of attitude — no, ideology —necessary to weather the challenges of starting a career in the boys’ club that was the comedy world of the 1960s… hell, that remains the comedy world to this day. But the vigor with which Rivers established herself was wholly important for not only the future of women in comedy, but for the very idea of comedy altogether.
This bravado demanded that her targets be indiscriminate: she’d mock individuals as beloved as Elizabeth Taylor and Adele, mine comedy from events as sensitive as the Holocaust and the Ariel Castro kidnappings. With each new “crossing of the line,” as it were, Rivers would face more and more backlash. Rivers carried through in the face of professional setbacks — like the cold shoulder of Johnny Carson (after she accepted a television series opposite The Tonight Show) and 18-year-long banishment from the late night institution where she got her start — as well as personal tragedy, notably the suicide of her husband Edgar Rosenberg. Throughout all, Rivers entrenched herself in comedy and vice versa, proving often that she was her favorite thing to make fun of.
It is unlikely that Rivers, an active force in comedy for more than half a century and riddled with tenacity up to the end of her life, didn’t offend each of us at one time. While her legions of watchers and listeners might hold true to the ideals of sensitivity, compassion, and courtesy — all perfectly legitimate values, in fact — Rivers’ allegiance was to one thing only, and she held true to this maxim without a hiccup. Whether it was a conscious decision to remain strong and convicted in the face of adversity, attack, and the relentless erosions of life, or simply the nature of the acerbic and cunning Brooklynite, Rivers wore the philosophy like a glove: making people laugh is what she was here for. And she sure as hell made sure to do it.

Today, August 29th, 2014 marks the 21st birthday of Liam Payne. Daddy Direction can legally drink in America! An important thing for us grown-up Directioners. To celebrate the day, we’ve got 21 fun-facts about Liam. Not that boring stuff, like his zodiac sign (Virgo) or his middle name (James, just like his band-mate Niall Horan).
1. He is afraid of spoons. It’s not that weird, it’s kind of cute.
2. Of the band, he’s the only one who comes to work with his hair done. The other band members show up with their hair all over the place, but he won’t leave his house without doing his hair.
3. If he wasn’t a singer, he would make a fabulous journalist:
He might have been drunk, but he actually asked all the questions a fan wanted to know after watching the Brit Awards.
4. His favorite film is the Toy Story trilogy.
5. Liam once told TOTP that he had the best dance moves and he was, “The king of the dance floor!” With his signature 1-2-3 flick. Recognize those moves anywhere?
6. Liam’s dream job, aside from the one he is currently living as a pop-star, is a fire fighter.
7. He once had his underwear stolen (and then later worn) by a fan.
8. If Liam could invent an ice cream flavor, it would be “Krispy Kreme Donut.”
9. He once confessed to owning a pair of pink hair straighteners. We can see the evidence of that here.
10. He has said that Justin Timberlake is one of his biggest inspirations. He also sang “Cry Me A River,” at his 2010 X Factor audition. Good thing too, since look where that got him!
11. Once, he was asked what food he would be, he responded: “I’d be 7 bananas because it’s too much potassium and that’s dangerous.” Gotta love a bad boy.
12. His favorite color is still purple (had to include this because it’s adorable).
13. Liam once had no idea what YOLO and DTF stood for, so he guessed “Yummy Oreos Love Origami” and “Dedicated To Fans.” Better abbreviations, in my honest opinion.
14. Liam wishes he’d written the song “99 Problems,” by Jay Z. We wonder why?
15. All of his band-mates have said he’s got the best abs in the group. We cannot deny this.
16. Liam has a man-crush on Twilight star Taylor Lautner.
17. He has two pet turtles named Boris and Archimedes. He also has an adorable little husky named Loki (with his ex-girlfriend Danielle Peazer).

18. One time Liam was left behind and when the tour bus took off, he started running after it while waving his arms. The rest of the band mistook him for a fan at first.
19. Until he was 19-years-old, Liam suffered from kidney problems (1 scarred and dysfunctional kidney) that kept him from drinking and he had to lead a very careful life. Luckily, he’s all healthy now and can legally drink with his American fans!
20. The one person guaranteed to make him laugh is band-made, Louis Tomlinson! “Even if I’m in a situation where I’m mad at him, the person that can make me smile is Louis. Whatever happens he’ll make me laugh about something.”
21. One of Liam’s tattoos (the feather and lyrics) is dedicated to his Nan.
Happy Birthday Liam! We hope you have an awesome day and get to relax a little, if that's possible to do in the middle of a world tour.
Which is your favorite Liam fact? Tweet us yours along with the hashtag #Happy21stBirthdayLiam!
