Rapper Wiz Khalifa has been named in an assault and battery lawsuit. Ryan Smith claims he was attacked at the Tunez and Cue restaurant in West Virginia during a Kalifa concert in April, 2013, according to The West Virginia Record.
In a lawsuit filed on 26 May (14) in Monongalia Circuit Court, Smith has named the Black and Yellow hitmaker along with dozens of other defendants, alleging they were negligent in protecting him as a business invitee.
He claims he suffered a broken jaw and multiple hospitalisations and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages for loss of income, disability, disfigurement and loss of enjoyment of life.
Singer Miranda Lambert was caught up in a mid-air drama on Tuesday (03Jun14) when the plane she was travelling in was forced to make an emergency landing. The Mama's Broken Heart hitmaker was flying from New York to Nashville, Tennessee when her private jet lost pressure in the cabin, prompting the pilot to touch down in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Lambert took to Instagram.com to inform her fans of the situation just after the plane took off again.
She wrote, "Our plane had an emergency landing in Clarksburg WV. But don't worry, we found platinum fire suits. Yes! platinum", accompanied with a picture of herself and friends in shiny hazmat suits.
Platinum is the name of the singer's new album.
Wu-Tang Clan leader Rza has broken his silence about the group's affiliate who chopped off his penis in an alleged suicide attempt earlier this week (beg14Apr14). Andre 'Christ Bearer' Johnson was found on the pavement outside the North Hollywood apartment building where he lived after cutting off his manhood and leaping from a second-storey balcony.
A statement posted to the Wu-Tang Clan's website appearing to dismiss links to Johnson was quickly removed and now RZA has spoken to XXL in a bid to clarify the rap collective's connection to the Northstar member, who was signed to his record label.
RZA, who also produced North Star's 2004 album as Bobby Digital, says, "Christ Bearer is a part of the West Coast Killa Beez, a bunch of young guys that was signed to our company 10 years ago... We did invest in some young guys to try and help any hood. He was a guy from the hood that we gave a shot. I don't make music with him nowadays.
"(But) I liked those guys. I liked what they stood for, young guys trying. I can't wait to really hear the whole story. It's sad that it's Wu-Tang affiliated. It's like dirty press in a way. I want to know what the f**k moved him to do those things... What he did is incredible. That s**t sound mythical (sic)."
RZA reveals Johnson recently called him after spending time behind bars, adding, "I feel sad for his family first and foremost; I know he has children. I thought he was a smarter guy than a guy who would do something crazy like that. But at the same time, he's been in jail recently, he's been in trouble. Maybe he's mentally unstable. Maybe the mental health system should have took a look at him (sic) and said, 'You know what? We got to hold on to this guy for a little longer'.
"Even if you high (sic), this s**t don't sound sane. This sounds more than high. It sound (sic) like mental problems or something that was bothering this man's mind, and he needed help. It's sad. I send my respect out to his family."
Veteran British actor Timothy West has been confined to a wheelchair after breaking his ankle. The Day of the Jackal star sustained the injury in a fall and subsequently underwent an operation to repair the damage.
His ankle has been set in plaster and he has been using crutches and a wheelchair to move about.
West, 79, initially feared the injury would cost him his new job on U.K. soap opera EastEnders, but he was relieved when TV bosses promised to accommodate his health battle.
Speaking on U.K. TV series The Alan Titchmarsh Show, West says, "As you see I'm on crutches which is not my permanent state - employers please note - I just happened to fall over and break my ankle... I had to... ring up the EastEnders people and say, 'Look I've broken my ankle. I'm terribly sorry.' They said, 'Oh no that's perfectly alright... we'll write that in.' I said, 'No, you don't understand - I've had an operation, I'm in plaster.' (They said) 'That's alright that doesn't bother us'. (I said) 'I have to move about in a wheelchair' - 'Alright we can get you a wheelchair' - they were terrific."

West and Jay's concert location will not be released until the day of the show.
Other musicians taking part in Samsung's mini-music festival at SXSW are Janelle Monae, Gary Clark Jr., Broken Bells and Cut Copy.
Salma Hayek's younger brother has been hospitalised in Los Angeles following a car accident which killed his passenger. Sami Hayek, 40, was driving along Sunset Boulevard in Holmby Hills on Sunday (23Feb14) when he lost control of his car as it veered into an oncoming truck, according to the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division.
Hayek was taken to the hospital with several broken ribs and a head laceration and his unidentified 43-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the New York Daily News.
The driver of the truck, Alvin Javier Gomez, was transported to a nearby hospital after suffering a broken foot.
Police are investigating the accident and no arrests have been made.
British model/TV personality Katie Price has appealed for the return of her designer handbag after it was stolen by thieves who broke into her car. The star alerted fans to the drama by posting a picture of her car's shattered window on Twitter.com on Saturday (22Feb14), revealing the vehicle was broken into in a parking lot in West Sussex, England.
Price reported the incident to the police and reached out to the public for the return of her stolen purse.
She writes, "In Horsham (in West Sussex) someone smashed my window stole my bag with all valuables in! Pure scum low lifes (sic)... Anyone who is given a cream round barrel Louis V (Louis Vuitton) bag and black Louis V card holder in Horsham it's mine! Also my valuables inside... Police reported too!... Yep stupid to leave my bag under my seat but in a busy car park in Horsham just surprised (sic)."

It's field trip season at Schulman and Associates, and everyone is heading to Los Angeles to learn about lip injections and vaginal rejuvenation. But Mindy (Mindy Kaling) is not about to leave town without dropping a few Entourage impressions and a bomb on her budding relationship, asking Cliff to move in with her. This all-too-soon proposition stops their chemistry instantly, as Mindy heads across the country with Danny (Chris Messina), Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) and Party Boy Peter (Adam Pally).
After a plane ride long enough to learn that Mindy is terrible at napping and Danny still has daddy issues, they arrive. Mindy and Peter pair up for the longest time since crushing a wedding earlier this season. Their bromance was more than worth the wait. It's almost harmonious how they're both equal parts girly girl and frat boy, as if they cancel out how annoying each other could be. On a sentimental level Mindy and Peter connect in their hopeless romanticism (and their love for Maria Menounos), adding depth to their hilarity.
Not long into a shopping spree for naked lady shoes, Mindy runs into her ex-fiance Casey. It initially looked like the Pastor/D.J. had pathetically moved on to retail, but Casey owns the trendy store "Dope Feet" where they sell shoes that are "ugly, but on purpose." Both boasting about their post break-up lives, Mindy shares she has a boyfriend while Casey just had an "adult onset growth spurt." Before parting Casey invites Mindy to a celebrity pool party, which she declines.
Mindy tells Cliff about running into Casey and he asks her not to go out with him. But as she consoles Peter about a broken heart, Mindy convinces herself she's going to the party for her friend's sake. Intentionally avoiding Casey, Mindy gets cornered in a recurring bit with Kevin Smith, where he addresses her as his overweight equal ("I'm like an ant hill and you're like a volcano."). Finally they reunite in the pool, where Mindy can't avoid Casey without ruining her hair and makeup underwater. Casey mistakes this for a "pool sex vibe," driving Mindy out of the party back to her hotel.
Meanwhile Morgan is getting Danny out of his hotel to face the fear of seeing his estranged father. This was brought up earlier in the season when Danny's brother visited New York. Just as Danny starts to have fun in Old West Town, Morgan confesses plans to reunite him with his dad. Danny storms off, stealing Morgan's room at the YMCA to drunk-dial the man in question. This secondary storyline was not resolved and is likely setting up a second episode in L.A., where we finally meet Danny's father.
Mindy's Los Angeles story seems to be heating up for a continued episode as well. Cliff breaks up with Mindy after seeing a picture of her and Casey on the Internet, leaving her single in a city with the man she thought she'd marry. Casey is charming enough to make Mindy and the audience miss him, yet with the kind of hubris that makes us want him to eventually go away. While they wont get back together, revisiting Mindy's feelings for Casey may make for some hilarious and heartbreaking moments next week, perfect for this rom-sitcom.
Kim Kardashian has fired back at critics who mocked her decision to hand over just 10 per cent of the profits from recent online charity auctions to the typhoon recovery effort in the Philippines, insisting it's not the only donation she has made. Kanye West's reality TV star fiancee regularly sells off items of clothing and fan memorabilia on eBay.com, and she recently announced that money raised from several lots will partially benefit the victims of the devastating storms which lashed the Philippines on 8 November (13), leaving more than 5,900 people dead and hundreds missing.
However, the figure prompted some bloggers to attack millionaire Kardashian for giving such a small share of her profits to typhoon aid efforts.
The new mum has now spoken out to address the criticism in a post on her official website, claiming she doesn't make much from the eBay auctions after all the costs are taken care of.
She writes, "For people to attack me for giving 10 (per cent) of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts. I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10 (per cent) of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions. This month it's for the people of the Philippines, last month was Life Change Community Church.
"In regards to these eBay auctions, when the eBay numbers get broken down, the auction management agency that posts for me gets a percentage for all of their hard work, then eBay listing fees, end of auction fees, eBay Store fees, Paypal fees, etc., all add up to about half of the sale. Then I give 10 (per cent) to a charity.
"Truth is how the (number) is broken down, is neither here nor there. The people of the Philippines need all of our help, no matter how big or small... Giving comes from the heart. We all need to be reminded of this as we celebrate the holiday season this year."
Kardashian isn't the only celebrity to raise money for the people of the Philippines - Justin Bieber staged a surprise performance for Typhoon Haiyan victims in the country on Tuesday (10Dec13), while Victoria and David Beckham raised thousands for the Red Cross relief effort by selling off designer goods and other items last month (Nov13). Rihanna has also donated money to the effort.
Casting is a complicated business. You have to choose an actor with enough charisma and good looks to have audiences fall in love with them. You need someone with strong comedic or dramatic acting skills to deliver week after week. Then you have to factor in a person’s ability to handle the pressure, business, and the whole host of behind-the-scenes magic that goes into making television. But what if there is something else? Some shows can be utterly amazing and yet die a horrible death. Is it possible that some actors are just cursed?
Lowell is charming and has the perfect blend of approachability and sex appeal. Plus, he’s got dreamy blue eyes. And yet, he has starred in multiple failed shows. He started his television career on Life As We Know It. He played an awkward boyfriend to Kelly Osbourne’s buxom, outspoken high school girl. He was added as a series regular to Veronica Mars which was soon cancelled. Also, sad to say, Private Practice seemed to find its stride after they killed off his sensitive, junkie-loving midwife character, Dell. His upcoming series Enlisted looks like it may be quickly dispatched. If it was just a military ensemble comedy it could take off like the sleeper hit Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But the show looks like it has a bizarre Three Stooges sibling angle combined with its military premise. It brings flashbacks to the ill-conceived Goodwin Games.
Perry starred in Aaron Sorkin's follow up to The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. Despite his success with Friends, Perry has had more than his share of failed series under his belt. Before starring on the popular '90s sitcom, he starred in multiple failed vehicles including Sydney with Valerie Bertenelli, Second Chance, and Home Free. He recently starred on the failed series Mr. Sunshine that was cancelled so fast it might be confused for the follow up, Go On. Unfortunately, Go On was actually a halfway decent series with a uniquely emotion-driven premise. Hopefully he can find a series that will exorcise Chandler Bing from his repertoire.
Gorham is talented, funny, charming, and has a set of abs like nobody’s business. He has starred on multiple amazing series with cult-followings that ended prematurely. He starred in Ryan Murphy’s first series, the high school comedy Popular. He played a time-traveling astronaut in the series Odyssey 5 and an enhanced man, Jake 2.0. He was in the suspense series Harper’s Island and the medical drama Medical Investigation. He was also one of the best guest stars on the prematurely canceled Ugly Betty. He even tried his hand at sitcoms in the hilarious sitcom Out Of Practice with Ty Burrell. He may have broken his losing streak with the Piper Perabo spy series, Alias Covert Affairs. He plays blind tech expert Auggie Anderson and the series has lasted four seasons.
Harrison is a gifted comedian and the right blend of awkward geek and dreamboat. However, he hasn’t been able to get a show to last. He starred in two seasons of the very funny series The Loop about a twenty-something in the work force. In Reaper, he played a burnout whose parents sold his soul to the devil. He joined the cast of the remake of V and the show was swiftly canceled. Breaking In was a pretty intriguing sitcom starring Christian Slater about a team of security experts comprised of gifted thieves, but it too didn't last.
