U.S. reality TV wedding planner David Tutera has split from his husband just weeks before a surrogate mother is due to give birth to the couple's twin babies. The star, who fronts American series My Fair Wedding, married his partner Ryan Jurica in Vermont in 2003 and they are due to become parents in July (13).
However, the couple has now split and Jurica has moved to end the union, according to the New York Post.
Legal papers were filed in Stamford Superior Court in Connecticut on 17 April (13) and reveal Jurica is asking for sole custody of the couple's twins, a boy and a girl, which are expected to be born to a surrogate mother on 1 July (13).
Celebrity wedding planner Tutera has previously organised events for Sir Elton John and Jennifer Lopez.
The Star Trek actor is due to perform his Shatner's World production in Stamford, Connecticut on Thursday (08Nov12), as well as a series of shows in New Jersey - two areas which were badly hit by the heavy rain and wind.
Thousands of homes were still without power on Monday (05Nov12), a week after Sandy first hit the region, and Shatner hopes his comedy turn won't be out of place amid the hardship facing local residents.
He tells Reuters, "I'm going to be in Connecticut and New Jersey this week. I'm playing about four different places that are just opening up now. My heart goes out to the nightmare that these people are in.
"I feel a little awkward in talking about providing a laugh or two, but on the other hand some people may need that, and that's what I'll be doing... I will be with my heart on my sleeve trying to entertain people who have had a great deal of hardship in the last week... Hopefully by the time I get there, there will be power. And hopefully by that time, they'll be of a mind to be able to want to be entertained."

The actress sold the Stamford, Connecticut home in the 1960s when she moved to California and although she died of cancer in 1979 on the other side of America, the longtime owners of the old place believe her ghost has returned to haunt them.
And she's not alone - Melissa Leigh, who has lived in the haunted house since the mid-1970s, believes there are a number of spooks floating around the place.
Now, the Norwalk Paranormal Research Group have targeted the home for a ghostbusting investigation after determining the old place really is haunted.

The retired runway beauty is currently locked in a messy divorce and custody battle with Brant, the father of her three children.
During a pre-divorce trial hearing in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday (06Aug10), a court heard how Brant had sold Picasso's Le Baiser (The Kiss) during a sale in London in June (10), making a staggering profit on the $4.4 million (£2.93 million) the former couple originally paid for the artwork.
The money was used to salvage his White Birch Paper Company from going broke.
Seymour's lawyers claim Brant has failed to fully notify them about the sale of the painting as they continue to fight over the financial terms of their split.
The purpose of the hearing was to establish whether Brant was required to undergo random drug tests, along with Seymour, as part of their fight over custody of their kids.
A judge ruled Brant must continue to attend random drug tests after he asked to be made exempt from the task.
The ex-couple's divorce is due to go to trial in September (10).
The retired runway beauty's messy split from publishing mogul Peter Brant is set to go to trial next month (Sep10), but the pair appeared in a Stamford, Connecticut court on Friday (06Aug10) for a pre-divorce trial hearing.
The court session was called by Brant's lawyers in an attempt to have the rules for regular drug testing altered.
The businessman, who is challenging Seymour for custody of their three kids, wanted to be allowed to skip the testing because he's maintained a clean record since their divorce proceedings began last year (09).
His attorneys argued Seymour should be the only one forced to undergo the procedure after failing to attend some of the random tests.
However, his request was denied by Judge Michael Shay, who ruled both parents must continue to submit to testing as it would be unfair for Seymour's reputation to be tarnished in the eyes of their kids if only she was ordered to provide regular samples.
He also added that Seymour's test results have all come back negative to date.
The former supermodel has been ordered to undergo regular testing, along with her ex-husband Peter Brant, as part of the pair's messy divorce proceedings and ongoing custody battle over their three children.
Seymour was forced back to court in Connecticut after she missed a scheduled drug test while she was enjoying a sun-soaked vacation in St. Barts with two of her kids in March (10).
The 40 year old claimed she did not see emails which asked her to meet with a doctor who had been sent to her hotel to perform the test.
The judge did not find Seymour in contempt, but warned her not to miss future tests, according to the New York Post.
Brant's lawyers, who have previously expressed concerns about Seymour's alleged problem with prescription pills, have now asked the judge to order the star to give up alcohol as well.
The former couple is due back in court in Stamford, Connecticut on Monday (28Jun10).
