Tilda Swinton is in talks to reteam with her Michael Clayton co-star George Clooney in the new Coen Brothers movie Hail Caesar!. The actress, her The Grand Budapest Hotel onscreen lover Ralph Fiennes and Channing Tatum are all in negotiations to join the cast of the Hollywood studios period comedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum is slated to play a Gene Kelly-type dancer, while Swinton is up for the role of top gossip columnist, and Fiennes is close to signing on to play a studio director.
The film isn't Clooney's first Coen Brothers project - he also starred in the filmmaker siblings' O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Burn After Reading and Intolerable Cruelty.
Filmmakers at Burning Bridges & Fifth Column Films have launched a Kickstarter.com campaign to raise funds for a new documentary about reclusive English folk legend Shirley Collins. Directors Tim Plester and Rob Curry hope to raise $40,000 (£25,000) to complete their film The Ballad of Shirley Collins, which is inspired by the singer's autobiography, America Over the Water, which is scheduled for release next year (15).
According to their Kickstarter.com site, the film will "retell the tale of the famous song-collecting trip she took around the Deep South of America with legendary field-recordist Alan Lomax - a trip on which they uncovered and documented the music that would later inspire the soundtrack to the Coen Brothers' O Brother Where Art Thou".
A spokesman for the film company adds, "We will blend the story of the trip with a celebration of her (Collins') role in the folk revival of the 50s, 60s and 70s, when - amongst many other achievements - she and her sister Dolly produced the era's most defining monuments in their seminal albums Anthems in Eden and Love, Death and the Lady."
At press time, fans had raised over $6,900 (£4,300).
Singer Lana Del Rey has split from her longtime boyfriend Barrie-James O'neill. The Young & Beautiful hitmaker had been dating the former Kassidy star since 2011, but she recently revealed the two are no longer a couple.
She says, "We are currently not together. He is a wonderful person. But there are some things with which he has to deal. I will not explain it in detail. This was hard on our relationship; I no longer felt free. We'll see how it goes."
The sad news comes just days after Del Rey felt the need to explain comments she made during a dark interview with Britain's The Guardian newspaper, during which she told reporter Tim Jonze, "I wish I was dead already".
The singer's disturbing comments stunned many of her fans and she took to Twitter.com late on Thursday (19Jun14) to try and explain herself. In a series of messages, Del Rey accused Jonze of acting in a "sinister" manner, writing, "His leading questions about death and persona were calculated but hiding sinister ambitions and angles... "I regret trusting the Guardian - I didn't want to do the interview but the journalist was persistent."
Jonze has since defended his article, stating, "Ultimately, the problem with Lana's complaint is that she doesn't seem to know what she's actually complaining about. She's not alleging that I made up her quotes, nor is she claiming that they've been 'twisted' or that we've printed them out of context. Instead she seems annoyed by the fact I wanted her to say interesting things and asked questions that caused her to do so. Well sorry, Lana, but that's just me doing my job."
U.S. comedian and chat show host Conan O'brien has saved his home in Rhode Island after settling an $8,000 (£5,000) tax bill on the property. The funnyman, who is based in Los Angeles, paid off the debt on Friday (20Jun14), saving the Westerly shore pad from auction.
O'Brien's publicist claims the star was unaware of the tax debt, blaming a clerical error for the mix-up.

Fans of the hit FX series Sons of Anarchy can't wait until the show's final season debuts this fall which is why some are spending the summer tracking down SOA's Southern California sets.
Today, Sons of Anarchy is filming in their studio, located at 7333 Radford Ave, North Hollywood, CA.
The series' main stage has a unique set up that makes it a must-see for fans visiting the Los Angeles area. The studio – where all of the interior shots of the characters' homes and offices are shot – is connected to the exterior Teller-Morrow Automotive Repair Shop set.
Most TV shows, especially in L.A., have some outdoor sets, but what makes Teller-Morrow stand out is its accessibility. The set is directly on the road (as fans of the show will know) which also means it can be seen from the road, making it a great photo opp for fans whether filming is taking place or not.
As SOA begins to wrap up, executive producer Kurt Sutter is not only writing and producing the show's final season in L.A., he's also flying to and fromo Pittsburgh where the movie Southpaw is just starting production.

George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has suffered a miscarriage. The Italian model/actress was expecting her first child with her current boyfriend, spinal surgeon Brian Perri, this autumn (14), but she revealed on Friday (13Jun14) that she had lost the baby.
Taking to her WhoSay.com blog, she wrote, "Unfortunately, life gives you... a reality that you do not expect, and that is very hard to accept, even if you think you are strong enough and prepared.
"You're never really ready to be told that there is no more beating (heartbeat) and that it had already stopped long ago."
Sharing a note of encouragement to others who have suffered similar heartbreak, she continued, "I just want to say to all those women who are going through it to stay strong because life goes on and it is nobody's fault. Nature acts in incomprehensible ways."
Canalis split from Clooney in 2011 after 18 months together, and she went on to enjoy an on/off romance with Jackass daredevil Steve-O.
James Franco will direct his ex-girlfriend Ahna O'reilly in a new off-Broadway production of Robert Boswell's play The Long Shrift.
The Milk actor is currently wowing audiences on Broadway with his star turn in Of Mice and Men alongside Irish actor Chris O'Dowd at the Longacre Theatre, but he will head over to off-Broadway venue the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater to make his stage directorial debut.
Franco has some close ties to the cast of The Long Shrift, a play about a man who is released from prison after being convicted of rape. He dated The Help star O'Reilly for four years until they split in 2011, while Scott Haze, who was Franco's co-star in 2013 film Child of God, will also appear in the production, which runs between July (14) and August (14).
