Actor Michael K. Williams challenged his Inherent Vice director Paul Thomas Anderson during a recent press conference, revealing he was convinced the filmmaker was not a fan of his throughout the shoot. The Wire star was asked what it was like to work with the Boogie Nights director and he confessed he felt under-appreciated on the set.
The actor said, "I didn't think Paul liked me... I came into the project a huge fan of co-star Joaquin (Phoenix) and Paul. I think I hadn't slept in 48 hours; I came from a job to this film. The process was different.
"Most of my credits are on television, where it's about time, time, time and in this situation you get to sit down and talk about it. I'm like, 'Really?' Joaquin was so generous and I came in very intimidated."
He then turned to face his director and added, "To be put in a situation that was so foreign to me, I didn't think you liked me! Although the process was new for me I knew that I was safe and in good hands and to trust. I'm grateful that I was given the opportunity to do that."
Anderson joked, "I didn't like you", before adding, "No, that makes me feel terrible."
British actress Tina O'brien has become a mother for the second time after giving birth to a son. The former Coronation Street star welcomed a little boy earlier this month (Oct14), according to Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper.
The baby is her first child with her personal trainer boyfriend Adam Crofts.
O'Brien also has a five-year-old daughter, Scarlett, from a previous relationship with her Coronation Street co-star Ryan Thomas.
Uma Thurman's former fiance Arpad Busson has filed an emergency court order seeking custody of their two-year-old daughter. The Kill Bill star began dating French financier Busson in 2007 and gave birth to the couple's only child, little Rosalind, aka Luna, in July, 2012, months after reconciling with her boyfriend following a 2009 split.
The pair parted ways again earlier this year (14), calling off its engagement for a second time, and now multi-millionaire Busson is fighting for physical custody of his child.
His lawyer filed papers in Manhattan Supreme Court in New York on Tuesday (14Oct14).
The case has been sealed and representatives for both Busson and Thurman have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
Busson, who is reportedly now dating British actress Kristin Scott Thomas, is also father to two sons with supermodel Elle Macpherson, while Thurman shares a boy and a girl with her ex-husband, actor Ethan Hawke.
Facebook.com founder Mark Zuckerberg is leading the way in the fight against Ebola by donating $25 million (£15.6 million) to help U.S. medical experts find a cure for the deadly disease. The billionaire and his wife Priscilla Chan announced the grant for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control foundation on Tuesday (14Oct14), almost a week after Texan Thomas Eric Duncan died from the virus. He was America's first confirmed Ebola case and was diagnosed shortly after returning from a trip to West Africa, where more than 4,400 people have died from the condition since the outbreak began earlier this year (14).
A statement released by the couple reads: "We need to get Ebola under control in the near term so that it doesn't spread further and become a long term global health crisis that we end up fighting for decades at large scale, like HIV or polio.
"We believe our grant is the quickest way to empower the CDC and the experts in this field to prevent this outcome."
Zuckerberg isn't the first celebrity to take action - British supermodel Naomi Campbell is organising charity fashion shows to help in the battle against Ebola, while Boardwalk Empire actor Jeffrey Wright has embarked on a global Twitter campaign called #CrushEbolaNow to raise awareness about the disease.
Actress Marlo Thomas ditched early plans to help feminist icon Gloria Steinem turn her 1963 expose, A Bunny's Tale, into a TV movie after a top Hollywood producer propositioned them during their pitch. The Nobody's Child star reveals the pair had taken the film idea to an unidentified male studio executive to adapt the article, about Steinem's experiences as an undercover Playboy Bunny at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Club in New York, for the small screen, but the producer's attitude turned both women off as soon as they sat down for the meeting, according to the New York Post.
Recalling the incident while being honoured by officials at the Comedy Hall of Fame at the Big Apple's Museum of the Moving Image, she said, "We go into this guy's office, in our glorious 20s. And we're sitting opposite the desk... and he looks at us and says, 'Oh my God, I don't know which one of you I want to f**k first!'
"We were just flabbergasted. Where do you go from there? It ruined everything."
A Bunny's Tale eventually made it to TV screens in 1985, with Kirstie Alley as Steinem.

Bruno Mars has been transformed into an 18th century nobleman in a one-of-a-kind oil painting gifted to him by his manager on the R&B star's 29th birthday. The Treasure hitmaker celebrated his big day on Wednesday (08Oct14) and he now has a unique piece of artwork portraying him and his girlfriend, model Jessica Caban, as historic figures Thomas Gisborne and his wife Anne.
The original masterpiece was painted by Joseph Wright in 1786, but it has since been reinterpreted to feature the likenesses of Mars and Caban in place of the Gisborne's faces.
The new hand-painted portrait, commissioned by Mars' manager Shaun Hoffman, also features the singer's pet Rottweiler, Geronimo.
Chris Jensen, founder of Nobilified - the company behind the portrait, adds, "We here at Nobilified love Bruno Mars, so when we realised that his manager had ordered him a painting, we were ecstatic! It is not every day that you are painting for a critically acclaimed artist.
"While we take pride in each and every masterpiece we produce, painting a birthday present for someone we have listened to countless times on the radio adds to the magic of what we do."
And Hoffman reveals Mars and Caban are thrilled with the artwork, stating, "The masterpiece is definitely being enjoyed."
Supermodel Naomi Campbell is taking action against the growing Ebola outbreak by organising charity fashion shows to raise money to fight the deadly disease. The British beauty is determined to do what she can to help halt the spread of the virus, which has already claimed the lives of more than 3,300 people in West Africa, and she is working to stage a star-studded runway show during New York Fashion Week in February (15) and hopes to follow it up with a similar event in London.
Campbell - who has a home in Kenya, one of the African countries at high-risk - admits she is "scared" by the rising number of deaths from the disease and feels a responsibility as a black woman to educate the public about the dangers of the illness, telling the New York Post, "People don't have a clear idea about what Ebola is."
The model also fears for her own safety as a frequent globetrotter, adding, "Ebola does not discriminate."
Campbell's comments come just one day after a Texas man died from the virus. Thomas Eric Duncan had been America's first confirmed Ebola case and was diagnosed shortly after returning from Africa.
Campbell is no stranger to hosting fashion show benefits after previously rounding up pals like Kate Moss, Karolina Kurkova and Agyness Deyn to appear in charity catwalk events to aid relief efforts in Haiti, following the devastating 2010 earthquake, and in Japan, where residents were rocked by 2011's earthquake and tsunami.
Actress Kristin Scott Thomas is reportedly dating Uma Thurman's ex-fiance Arpad Busson. The Kill Bill star and Busson ended their engagement for the second time in April (14), and the French financier has since found love with The English Patient star, according to the New York Post.
A source tells the newspaper, "They are madly in love, it is very serious."
The actress was previously linked to English actor Tobias Menzies, after ending her marriage to French doctor François Olivennes in 2005, while Busson dated Thurman on-and-off from 2007 to 2014. The couple has a daughter, who was born in 2012.
Busson also has two sons from a previous relationship with supermodel Elle Macpherson.
