The director, who won the Best Screenplay Oscar for his cult hit Pulp Fiction, will be honoured with the Hollywood Screenwriter Award for his work on the star-studded western, which features Jamie Foxx as a freed slave who sets out for revenge against an evil plantation owner, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tarantino will join Judd Apatow (Hollywood Comedy Award) and Robert De Niro (Hollywood Supporting Actor Award) as honourees at the Los Angeles ceremony, which will take place at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on 22 October (12).
Django Unchained will be released in December (12).
The Oscar-winning star will pick up the coveted Hollywood Supporting Actor Award after receiving critical acclaim for his turn in new movie Silver Linings Playbook.

De Niro follows in the footsteps of previous recipients including Ben Affleck, John Travolta and Sam Rockwell.
He will receive the trophy at a gala ceremony on 22 October (12) at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.
