Daniel Radcliffe was left crippled with nerves when he agreed to tackle the fast-paced lyrics to Blackalicious hit Alphabet Aerobics on comedian Jimmy Fallon's U.S. late-night show earlier this week (beg27Ovt14) after learning the rappers would be watching. Stuck for something fun to talk about during his segment on the show a few months ago, the Harry Potter star confessed he'd perfected the art of memorising difficult hip-hop lyrics and when he revealed he knew all the words to Alphabet Aerobics, Fallon's house band The Roots urged him to perform the track.
Radcliffe refused, but when he returned this week, he decided to give it a go.
He says, "Fallon said, 'The Roots really want to do it with you', so I was like, 'OK!' But after I did the rehearsal and (drummer) Questlove came back into the dressing room, he said, 'Yeah man, I'm gonna text those guys (Blackalicious). They're gonna be really excited. I produced their second album'.
"I was like, 'Oh, OK, you are friends with these guys!'. So I might not have been as bold to suggest it (the rap) had I known that. But I'm amazingly glad I did it. I was shaking with adrenaline a couple of minutes after; it was awesome."
Actress Zoe Saldana has revealed pregnancy has made her crave previously unwanted compliments about the way that she looks.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star explains she usually finds comments about her appearance offensive, but since now she is yearning for the positive attention. She explains, "People think that they're not supposed to compliment pregnant women. The best thing a pregnant woman can hear is '(You're) sexy'. It's like, 'Oh, you think I'm sexy, yes I'm sexy...' "Usually I'm sort of, like, such an activist and (all about) women's rights, like, 'Excuse me, do not objectify me!' But now that I'm pregnant, I'm kind of like itching for sexy comments or compliments. Not getting picked up because my husband will kill you, but like, 'Your wife is looking hot'."
Shia Labeouf was so drunk he thought he was at a party when he disrupted a New York theatre performance in June (14). The Transformers star was arrested at Manhattan venue Studio 54 after interrupting a performance of Cabaret, smoking in the venue, and scuffling with cops outside.
He later pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to complete six months of alcohol rehabilitation treatment, and the actor has now recalled his night of shame, revealing he was so drunk he thought he was attending a party and was simply joining in the fun.
Speaking on U.S. chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (13Sep14), LaBeouf admits that after drinking huge amounts of whisky, he was invited to see Cabaret by a dancer he met in the street.
He says, "I'm walking towards the (theatre) and now the drunk is really kicking in. I'm really good and drunk at this point. I get into the theatre and it's set up like an old club... They have tables and there's all these women in burlesque and I'm like, 'Oh, this really is some kind of party or something'... Now I'm drinking these drinks and the show starts and out comes Alan Tuding... Alan Cumming. It could have been Allen Iverson at this point. He's smoking a cigarette and so I go, 'Oh, it's that kind of party. Perfect. I want to have a cigarette too.' So I pull this cigarette out and I'm smoking a cigarette and these women want nothing to do with me. Nobody wants nothing to do with me, but I don't care. I'm just seeing Allen Iverson in leather pants and saying this is the craziest show I've ever seen."
LaBeouf insists he even thought the police who arrived to arrest him were all part of the fun, adding, "I see six cops having their own party and anyways, they end up taking me to the station. I get to the station and I quickly realise, I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not made for this set up."
Actor Nathan Lane poked fun at his Broadway co-star and pal Matthew Broderick's shoe-loving wife Sarah Jessica Parker during an appearance on America's The Tonight Show on Friday (26Sep14). The Producers stars were promoting new show It's Only a Play on the programme when host Jimmy Fallon suggested they all switched seats and pretended to be each other.
Broderick took over Fallon's chair, Fallon sang his response to a question as Lane and Lane pretended 'his wife' Parker was calling on his cellphone.
He said, "I'm getting a call. Oh, hi Sarah, how are you...? OK, a quart of milk, gluten free bread and 400 pairs of shoes...'"
Broderick sat awkwardly as he pal joked, perhaps fearing that he'd give away a private secret, and then he felt even worse seconds later when he became Lane and Lane, as Fallon, asked him, "Nathan, when did you first realise you were a homosexual?"
The Inspector Gadget star replied, "Wow..." before adding, "I forgot who I was".
Britney Spears' mother is urging the pop superstar to move on from her latest break-up by dating several suitors at once.
The Toxic hitmaker ended her relationship with David Lucado, her boyfriend of 18 months, in August (14), amid allegations of his infidelity and the singer reveals her mom, Lynne, is eager for her to have a little fun while she splits her time between her concert residency in Las Vegas and her home in Los Angeles.
Spears, who ended her engagement to agent Jason Trawick in early 2013, insists she is doing "OK" following the recent love split because "everything happens for a reason". And the 32 year old admits she is starting to warm to her mom's advice. She says, "(Single life in Vegas) is mindblowing. My mom's like, 'You need to date three or four guys at one time and just have a lot of fun'. And I was like, 'We're not that old school (traditional) anymore, I guess I could try to do that!'."
Meanwhile, comedian Jimmy Fallon has given Spears a little help in finding love again by signing her up to online dating app Tinder. The singer made a surprise appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (09Sep14) and, during her visit, the TV host revealed he had created a Tinder profile for Spears, with her permission.
However, Spears pretended she wasn't exactly excited to be featured on the app, sarcastically commenting, "Oh yeah, I'm thrilled!"
She then joined Fallon to take part in a funny sketch titled the Pros and Cons of Dating Britney Spears, revealing she loves nothing better than snuggling in bed and watching TV.
Monday night (yes, Monday) was the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC and millions tuned in. Late Night host Seth Meyers gracefully took on the task of hosting. While the show might have been way too long, we found quite a few enjoyable moments that made us laugh, smile, and cry.
Seth Meyer’s Opening Monologue
Hosting any awards show is tough, but Seth held his own. He didn’t need a musical number, or heavy gag-jokes, to win over the audience. Seth was his usual charming self, with great delivery when it came to a friendly jab, or two.
Beyonce Showed Up
Oh you didn’t know, Queen Bey graced our screens last night? Amy Poehler AKA Beyonce, is half the reason we even tune into these awards shows. She’s either hosting, presenting, or just being fabulous, and that’s alright by us.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Matthew McConaughey Jokes
“Matthew McConaughey doesn't even own a television. I happen to know for a fact that he traded his television for a conch shell full of weed.”
The "Billy On The Street" Skit Was Surprisingly Good
"He's the host of the #Emmys this year!" "Um, Seth Macfarlane?" Haha.
— Yes/No Films (@yesnofilms) August 26, 2014
Usually, we're not too crazy about Billy On The Street, but his pre-taped skit with the Emmys' host, asking people on the street questions about the Emmys, was pretty hysterical.

Singer/actress Taylor Swift channelled her feelings from a "traumatic" childhood arts and crafts session to play a nerd in a comedy sketch on America's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The I Knew You Were Trouble hitmaker reveals she loved making castles out of Popsicle sticks when she was a kid, but one arts and crafts session with hot glue went awry, leaving her bloodied and in pain, and she now has a scar on her right thigh as a daily reminder of the bad experience.
She drew on her arts obsession during her U.S. TV appearance on Wednesday (13Aug14), when she portrayed a geeky character named Natalie to take part in Fallon's popular skit Ew!, in which the talk show host dresses up as a teenage girl, named Sara.
Discussing the sketch, in which Swift donned fake braces and oversized reading glasses, she explained, "The whole, 'I'm Natalie, I like to create Popsicle stick castles by myself sometimes' - that's actually a story from my own childhood.
"I have this scar on my leg and it's a very prominent scar that I've had ever since I was about 10 or 11 and everybody always asks me about it... I end up telling them. And at first I would tell people it's a normal thing, when I was 10 I would sit up in my attic and make castles out of Popsicle sticks and use a super industrial-strength hot glue gun 'cause I was really serious about it.
"So one day I was really aggressively creating a slide... and I was just like, glue, glue, glue, glue, glue, glue, glue, and then suddenly I was gluing off the table and a blob of just, like, hot glue, was just there (on my thigh). Your first instinct is just to go, 'Oh, I'll pull that off', and then you pull off 17 layers of skin with it... Ew! So that's how I came up with Natalie, it was a traumatic childhood story."
And Swift admitted she had been waiting for the opportunity to bring Natalie to life for some time: "I don't know why I got so into this but I love the Ew! sketch... So I started thinking, 'What would I ever do if I ever got to do that?'"
Fallon has previously recruited show guests including Zac Effron, Channing Tatum and Seth Rogen to don drag for the segment, while Lindsay Lohan and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama have also appeared in the skit.
Last night on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the show's host paid tribute to one of his idols and comedic inspirations, Robin Williams. During his tribute, the host got choked up (like all of us back home). Fallon wanted to celebrate Williams's life and genius. He even snuck a spot-on impression in there. Watch the incredibly touching tribute below:
We already loved you Jimmy, but we love you so much more now.
Actor Mickey Rourke has defended his decision to wear a T-shirt bearing an image of controversial Russian President Vladimir Putin, revealing the top was a charity purchase to help raise funds for a cancer-stricken kid. The Sin City star, whose model fiancee Elena Kuletskaya is Russian, divided fans over his fashion choice on Tuesday (12Aug14), when he was spotted wearing the black and white shirt at a New York restaurant.
He insisted that donning the T-shirt wasn't his way of making a political statement, telling photographers, "Me and politics are like night and day. I never understand it, that's why I'm an artist/actor... I like Russia, but I love USA."
However, he revealed the full story behind the T-shirt hours later, when he made an appearance on America's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and claimed it was actually a show of support for a sick child he recently visited at a cancer hospital in St. Petersburg, for which Putin regularly stages fundraisers.
He explained, "I was walking down a street and I saw a big crowd of people and I said, 'What's going on?' and they said, 'Oh, they're selling Putin T-shirts...' I said, 'For what?' And, with all the stuff (political conflict) that's going on in the Ukraine and Russia, they (explained that) there's a little Ukrainian boy who's in this hospital in St. Petersburg, named... Zenya and he's got a spinal cord injury... He needs all these operations and Putin promoted this thing to sell T-shirts with his face on it to raise money for his operations."
Actress Mila Kunis has poked fun at politically correct dads-to-be in a new TV skit in which she urges them to stop making pregnancy a couple thing. The pregnant Ted star filed a public service announcement for future dads on U.S. late night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! in which she took aim at the host when he said, "My wife and I are pregnant."
Kunis, who was sitting in the audience for the show, scolded, "Oh, you're both having a baby? You and your wife are pregnant?" She then faced the camera and added, "Hi, I'm Mila Kunis, with a very special message for all you soon-to-be fathers... Stop saying 'We're pregnant'. You're not pregnant! Do you have to squeeze a watermelon-sized person out of your lady-hole? No."
As a group of pregnant women walked onstage carrying tubs of ice-cream, Kunis raged, "You're not pregnant. We are." Kunis' stand for pregnant mums everywhere aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night (10Jun14). The actress is expecting her first child with fiance Ashton Kutcher.
