Reality TV star Mueller, who is from divorced Sheen, has long suffered substance abuse problems and she checked into a drug recovery centre late last year (11) in a bid to regain her health.
She has been in and out of rehab since, and recently decided to go on a retreat for two weeks to maintain her sobriety.
Richards, who was married to Sheen before Mueller, took their twin boys, Bob and Max, into her house while their mum was away so the kids could spend time with their half-sisters.
A representative for Mueller says, "Brooke had been on a local spiritual wellness retreat for about two weeks with a couple of friends.
"She arranged for the twins and their nanny to stay with Denise and her family, so the boys could spend time with their sisters. Brooke is back home with the kids, and everyone has resumed their normal routine."
The actress will play a mean, wealthy socialite who heads the club AnnaLynne McCord's character Naomi desperately wants to become a member of.
Richards' episode will air at the end of November (12), according to EW.com.
Prince Philip was admitted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary last Wednesday (15Aug12) with a recurrence of the illness he suffered in June (12), when he spent five nights in hospital recovering.
The 91-year-old royal missed a church service on Sunday (19Aug12) as doctors continued to observe him, but he was released from the facility on Monday morning (20Aug12).
He seemed in a happy mood as he departed the hospital, shaking the hands of medical staff who lined up outside the facility to wish him well, before being driven away.

Justin Bieber, Pink and Lady Gaga were among those who sent their congratulations to the medal-winning team, but Douglas won more praise when she scooped gold by herself.
Singer/actress Beyonce has written an open letter to Douglas in a post on her official blog, calling her performance "inspiring".

Hemsley was believed to have died from natural causes, and on Wednesday (25Jul12) Annabel Salazar, chief investigator for the El Paso County Office of the Medical Examiner, confirmed the reports.
As a result, no autopsy will take place on Hemsley's body, according to Reuters.
The actor, who passed away at his home in El Paso, Texas from apparent natural causes, was most famous for his role as George Jefferson in sitcom All in the Family and he later starred in a spin-off series, The Jeffersons, which featured a predominantly black cast.
