"You're looking at the luckiest, most blessed guy on the planet. I'm madly in love with her and I can't stand to spend a day without her." Country star Garth Brooks is still smitten with his wife Trisha Yearwood.
Country star Garth Brooks suffered an embarrassing fall onstage during his comeback tour on Friday (05Sep14) when he misjudged a jump. The singer was performing at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on Friday when he attempted to leap down two steps but he stumbled on landing and rolled down the stage towards the audience.
In footage obtained by TMZ.com, the 52 year old is shown getting back on his feet to continue with the set.
Kelly Clarkson made a surprise appearance at the same concert and Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga and her actor boyfriend Taylor Kinney were also in the audience.
Brooks' 11-date joint tour with his wife Trisha Yearwood will continue at the venue on Thursday (11Sep14).
Kelly Clarkson surprised fans by making her first post-baby appearance joining Trisha Yearwood and husband Garth Brooks for their concert in Illinois on Friday (05Sep14). The Since U Been Gone hitmaker welcomed her first child, daughter River Rose, with husband Brandon Blackstock in June (14), and she made a return to the stage to sing her duet with Yearwood, called PrizeFighter.
Just before Clarkson came on, Brooks told the crowd about his wife's new track, saying, "You've got this cool new song coming out. It's with you and Kelly Clarkson. I'm going to be Kelly Clarkson tonight! I can sing better than Kelly Clarkson."
However the audience in Rosemont's Allstate Arena gave a rousing cheer for the new mum as she appeared as she brushed off Brooks' light-hearted jibe and took his place on stage.
Following the gig, Clarkson took to Twitter.com to share a photo of her daughter backstage at the concert wearing bejewelled headphones.
Clarkson added the caption, "Got 2 sing with @TYcom tonight in Chicago & watched her and Garth as well! Amazing show! It was River's 1st concert!"
Clarkson's fellow American Idol alum and mum-to-be Carrie Underwood was also in the audience for the concert. Lady Gaga and her boyfriend Taylor Kinney were among the revellers at Brooks' first show of his massive comeback tour, which kicked off on Thursday (04Sep14) for a nearly sold-out 11-show run.
Country star Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood have listed their Malibu, California mansion for $7.5 million (GBP4.4 million). The country music supercouple recently announced plans to relocate from Oklahoma to Nashville, Tennessee, where Brooks hopes to focus on his comeback, and now Brooks and Yearwood are offloading yet another home - on America's west coast.
Brooks purchased the Paradise Cove ranch house in 2008 for $4.95 million (GBP2.9 million) and he is are hoping to sell the 1950s estate at a big profit.
The property comes with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, outdoor fireplace, sports court, and it is just steps away from a private beach.
Garth Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood are leaving their home state of Oklahoma and heading for country music capital Nashville, Tennessee. For years, the power couple has lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma - the city where Brooks was born and raised - making them among the state's most beloved celebrity residents.
Now that the youngest of Brooks' three daughters is leaving for college this autumn (14), the singers have decided to pack their bags and head for Nashville.
Yearwood tells CMT.com, "I have loved living in Oklahoma. It's been a great place to raise our girls, and the thing I'll miss the most is that I've made some of the best friends I'll ever have.
"It's been the right thing to be at home, but Garth and I both feel like the job of being home every day and going to every soccer practice, that job is coming to an end for us. And so it's time for us to do the next thing, and we're excited for whatever's next for us."
The move will also prove to be more convenient for Brooks, who recently announced plans for his first world tour in 12 years after previously retiring from the business in 2001 to focus on raising his kids.
She adds, "Garth and I have always sort of been gypsies. If you do this for a living, home for us is really just where we are together. There's an energy about Nashville that I love and I miss. And it's so awesome right now. It has a new energy that’s so cool. And it makes sense because it’s been a bit of a challenge to not live there and to have to fly in and out for work."
Yearwood also made a recent return to music with a tour which kicked off last month (Feb14). She is currently recording her first album since 2007.
Country singer Martina Mcbride is set to show off her culinary skills in her first cookbook. The Independence Day hitmaker can add author to her resume with a new book called Around the Table.
The illustrated book features her own recipes, menu planning and cooking tips, as well as helpful hints on party planning and entertaining.
McBride tells TheBoot.com, "I have a passion for food and entertaining and I'm so excited to be putting everything I love onto the pages of my new book."
Once her book hits shelves on 7 October (14), McBride hopes to follow in the footsteps of fellow country music superstar Trisha Yearwood, who has spent the past few years focusing on her own culinary career, and even hosts her own Emmy Award-winning cookery show.
McBride admits, "I've always wanted to be on a cooking show. Pretty bowls, beautiful ingredients, a pinch of this, a squeeze of that, some fresh ground pepper and toss it in the oven. All the while talking and being interesting while cooking."
Country star Trisha Yearwood has set herself a summer (14) deadline to complete her first album since 2007 after putting off the project for years. The There Goes My Baby hitmaker has been carving out a second career as a celebrity chef since her last new material, Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love, hit retailers almost seven years ago, but she reveals she will be hitting the studio hard to finish work on the follow-up in the coming months.
She tells People.com, "It might not be out this year, but my goal is to try and get it done by early summer. I just put it on the backburner and it needs to be focused on."
News of Yearwood's new album emerges as Garth Brooks' wife prepares to kick off her first tour in five years in Florida on Wednesday night (19Feb14).
She says, "I'm actually calling it my 'just because' tour. When Garth and I started talking about touring together (this summer), I realised that as much fun as those arena shows are going to be, I really have a special place in my heart for theaters and intimate shows.
"I didn't know when I'd get a chance to do them, and this is kind of a window. I just asked my agent to see if anyone might want to book a show. Just because I really wanted to!"
Fellow country icon Brooks recently announced plans for his first world tour in 12 years after previously retiring from the road and recording music in 2001 to focus on raising the couple's three daughters.
Country superstar Garth Brooks' comeback concerts in Ireland have sold out in less than an hour after fans camped out for days in a bid to land tickets. The Red Solo Cup hitmaker boasts a huge fanbase in the country and is set to perform in Ireland in July (14), for the first time since 1997.
Devotees began sleeping on the streets outside ticket-selling venues across the country earlier this week (begs27Jan14) to buy passes for his three shows at Dublin's Croke Park on Thursday morning (30Jan14).
It has now been confirmed that the 200,000 tickets available sold out within 60 minutes.
Brooks announced his Irish comeback in person at Croke Park earlier this month (Jan14), insisting the dates will be a warm-up ahead of his world tour in the autumn (14).
He said, "Before we go back on tour in the fall (autumn) of 2014, I want to challenge myself, the band, and crew. In '97, we were lucky enough to play Croke Park, the stadium was under construction... I was quoted then as saying 'When this stadium is finished, I would love to come back and try to fill it again...this time to the brink.'...and we're back to do just that."
The shows will take place on 25, 26 and 27 July.
Brooks previously retired from touring and recording music in 2001 to focus on raising his three daughters with wife Trisha Yearwood.
Reo Speedwagon rocker Bryan Hitt has opened up about the band's decision to pull out of a show at SeaWorld, Florida over the themepark's killer whale treatment scandal, insisting there are "two sides to every story". The group joined the likes of Trisha Yearwood, Barenaked Ladies and Willie Nelson in cancelling 2014 performances at the venue after 2013 documentary Blackfish exposed questionable behind-the-scenes actions at the tourist attraction.
On Thursday (16Jan14), the Beach Boys and Pat Benatar became the latest celebrities to withdraw from shows at Florida's Busch Gardens - another venue owned by SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment bosses - and now Hitt has spoken in detail about his stance on the controversy.
The drummer reveals the arguments laid out in Blackfish played a big part in the band's decision to pull out of their February (14) gig, but he insists the case against the park bosses isn't clear cut, and admits REO Speedwagon simply didn't want to get caught up in the politics of the situation.
He tells TMZ.com, "It was a great film. There's always two sides to every story. Nobody is a hundred per cent correct on either side, we just felt like that's SeaWorld's fight, not our fight.
"We politely bowed out. I think they do a lot of good in some instances. I don't, personally, like having big animals captive in small places."
The celebrity backlash over CNN documentary Blackfish has prompted the Beach Boys and Pat Benatar to pull out of shows at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The controversial film, which examines working practices and killer whale treatment at Orlando's SeaWorld themepark, has already led to a series of concert cancellations by the likes of Cheap Trick, Willie Nelson and Barenaked Ladies at the venue, and now another venue owned by SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment is facing a boycott.
A Busch Gardens spokesman has confirmed the Beach Boys and Benatar have scrapped their appearances at the upcoming Bands, Brews & BBQ event in Tampa, stating, "We respect their decision (but) we're disappointed that there is a media controversy enacted by animal activists and based on misinformation."
In a statement to CNN, Benatar reveals she cancelled her 22 February (14) show once she learned that Busch Gardens was affiliated with SeaWorld.
And the Beach Boys have also issued a statement, which reads: "The Beach Boys have cancelled their performance on February 15, 2014. The band regrets any inconvenience this may have caused their fans and they look forward to returning to Tampa soon."
Heart, Trace Adkins, Trisha Yearwood and Martina McBride have also scrapped 2014 dates at SeaWorld due to the fall-out following the release of Blackfish.
When Nelson scrapped his concert in December (13), he said, "I don't agree with the way they treat their animals."
