Bollywood star Juhi Chawla is heading to Hollywood after landing a role in an upcoming movie produced by Steven Spielberg. The acclaimed actress will appear alongside Dame Helen Mirren and fellow Indian star Om Puri in The Hundred-Foot Journey, which tells the story of an Indian family relocating to France, and is based on the novel of the same name by Richard C Morais.
Acclaimed Swedish moviemaker Lasse Hallstrom is directing the film, which is currently being shot on location in Mumbai, India.
British actress Helen Mirren has been cast in a Hollywood adaptation of author Richard C. Morais' bestselling book The Hundred-Foot Journey. The Queen star will appear alongside rising actor Manish Dayal in the culinary-themed drama, about an Indian family which relocates to the South of France and goes to war with the famous owner of a top restaurant after opening its own eatery nearby.
Lasse Hallstrom is attached to direct, while Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey are among the producers behind the DreamWorks project.
Production is due to begin in September (13) in France and India and the movie is slated for release next summer (14).
