Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's top model daughter Ireland has made two major changes in her life after co-hosting the official Oscars red carpet show - she has dyed her hair purple and split from her boyfriend. The statuesque beauty has confirmed she is single again after ending her romance with surfer Slater Trout.
She tells E! News, "I love him more than anything but I need to focus on myself right now. I am focusing on work and school now."
Last year (May13), the blonde beauty gushed over her beau to People magazine, saying, "I would say he is my best friend. We have our moments but that's rare. We can act stupid in public, private or wherever and we are always laughing."
The 18 year old was also spotted sporting a new purple hairdo earlier this week (beg03Mar14).
Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger's model daughter has signed on to be a fashion correspondent for news show Entertainment Tonight at the Oscars. Ireland Baldwin, 18, will join the programme's resident style expert Joe Zee on the red carpet on Sunday (02Mar14) for live coverage leading up to the Academy Awards.
She tells Us Weekly magazine, "I'm not used to being on camera so it's interesting, but it's so much fun working with Joe. It just feels like you're having a conversation."
Her big TV break comes after her father, Alec Baldwin, announced plans to stop talking about his private life in public.
The actor wrote in a piece for New York Magazine, "I'm aware that it's ironic that I'm making this case in the media, but this is the last time I'm going to talk about my personal life in an American publication ever again."
Actress Kim Basinger has landed a modelling contract at the age of 60. The Batman beauty has been signed to IMG Models, which will handle the star's commercial and endorsement deals.
Ivan Bart, managing director of IMG Models, says, "We are proud to be working with a distinguished and talented actress such as Kim Basinger. Kim has a powerful appeal on screen that will lend itself as a strong asset for us to seek innovative partnerships across the modeling and entertainment platform for Kim."
The star is following in the footsteps of her 18-year-old model daughter, Ireland Baldwin, who is also signed to IMG.
Basinger celebrated her 60th birthday on 8 December (13).
Splash NewsAlec Baldwin's recent career could be mistaken for one extremely long audition for the role of The Incredible Hulk. Only last week, his weekly MSNBC show was suspended for two episodes after he was filmed using a homophobic slur against a photographer during a New York street encounter. But it's not just photographers who don't like him when he's angry. Everyone from his eleven-year-old daughter to American Airlines flight attendants have felt the wrath of the Thomas & The Magic Railroad star for next to nothing over the past few years. Here's a more in-depth look at five of his victims.Ireland BaldwinBaldwin's most astonishing rant was directed towards his then eleven-year-old daughter Ireland in 2007 after she missed a pre-arranged phone call. Foregoing any chances of a "Father of the Year" award, the raging actor repeatedly called her a 'rude little pig' while also taking a pot shot at her mother, Kim Basinger, who later denied getting her revenge by leaking the voicemail to the press.Jay From StarbucksA poor unfortunate barista named Jay had the misfortune to catch Baldwin on one of his many off days when he apparently failed to treat the star with the utmost worship, resulting in a very personal and public review on his favourite platform for abuse, Twitter: "Starbucks on 93 and B’Way. Uptight Queen barista named JAY has an attitude problem."American Airlines Flight AttendantsUnable to tear himself away from the importance of playing Words With Friends, Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight in 2011 after he refused to turn off his smart phone. Despite inconveniencing hundreds of his fellow travellers, the word game addict still believed he was the wronged party and subsequently launched into a misogynistic rant on where else but Twitter. The New York PostAfter claiming that the New York Post's Gary Miller had assaulted him outside his home earlier this year, Baldwin was then accused of hurling a string of racial slurs at the photographer. When asked about the allegations by one of the newspaper's reporters, a charming Baldwin then replied, "I want you to choke to death."Daily Mail Journalist George StarkCertainly not the first celebrity to take issue with a story printed on the venomous Daily Mail website, Baldwin perhaps understandably took umbrage with journalist George Stark following the claim that his wife Hilaria had been tweeting during James Gandolfini's funeral. Less understandable is the vicious and vile way he chose to respond, describing the hack as "a toxic little queen" while also threatening to "put his foot up his f****ng ass."
Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland Baldwin has clarified comments she made in defence of her father's recent outburst, insisting she does not condone the homophobic language he used. The former 30 Rock star came under fire last week (ends15Nov13) after using offensive remarks during a street clash with a photographer that was caught on film.
While Alec made a formal apology, his 18-year-old daughter, Ireland, backed up her embattled father on Twitter.com, writing, "It takes a lot of strength for someone to release their anger. It takes a lot of strength and SUPPORT for someone to grow and become a better person. We all say things we don't mean. We all say things we can't take back.
"For someone who has battled with anger management issues, my dad has grown tremendously. My dad is far from a homophobe... What my dad said was WRONG. What my dad felt WASN'T."
Following a backlash on the social networking site, Ireland has spoken out again to insist she does not defend how her father has acted.
On her Instagram page, she writes, "I did not STAND UP for my father. It is never right to treat people the way that he has. I simply wanted to show my support for my family. No matter what, my dad is my dad and he is the only one I will ever have. He may have made some wrong choices, but that doesn't mean I'm leaving his side."
Alec Baldwin's model daughter Ireland has raced to her dad's defence amid reports suggesting the actor is homophobic. The former 30 Rock star came under fire this past week (ends15Nov13) after using a gay slur during a street clash with a photographer that was caught on film.
Baldwin made an official apology for his rash remarks, insisting he did not "intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words".
He added, "Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable."
And now the star's daughter, who was once the target of his temper when he called her a "rude, thoughtless, little pig" in an angry voicemail message that was leaked to the media, has spoken out to defend her dad.
Ireland Baldwin took to Twitter.com on Saturday (16Nov13) and wrote, "It takes a lot of strength for someone to release their anger. It takes a lot of strength and SUPPORT for someone to grow and become a better person. We all say things we don't mean. We all say things we can't take back.
"For someone who has battled with anger management issues, my dad has grown tremendously. My dad is far from a homophobe..."
She added, "What my dad said was WRONG. What my dad felt WASN'T. My dad has an INFANT CHILD to protect. All the parents out there should understand. You would do anything to protect your baby... Now, let's all quit acting like children. Let my dad be and let him have his room to learn and enjoy his family."
Alec Baldwin's alleged stalker wanted to conceive a "mini Baldwin" with the actor on St. Patrick's Day last year (12), a court has heard. French Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin stands accused of bombarding the former 30 Rock star with emails and making unwelcome visits to his New York home after they enjoyed dinner together in 2010.
Baldwin insisted his initial meetings with Sabourin were purely business, but she claimed otherwise and is currently on trial on stalking and harassment charges in Manhattan Criminal Court.
Prosecutor Zachary Stendig shared one indecent proposal the 40 year old had reportedly sent to Baldwin with the court on Thursday (07Nov13).
The 2012 email stated, "I will be in prime of my ovulation this St. Patrick's Day and the best gift from you of all would be to conceive a mini Baldwin on this Ireland National Day (sic)."
Upon hearing the private email read aloud in court, Sabourin blurted out, "Oh my God!", prompting Judge Robert Mandelbaum to warn the defendant to keep quiet.
In another of Sabourin's emails to Baldwin, she boasted about her sexual prowess, writing, "Accept my proposal and I'll take you straight to heaven. There is many things (sic) I will do to you now in order to give you all kinds of delightful pleasure. French are the best lovers in the world and I master my art (sic)."
Sabourin's lawyer, Todd Spodek, claims his client only contacted Baldwin seeking closure for their "crumbling" romance after allegedly enjoying intimate relations following their 2010 dinner date.
Baldwin and his wife, new mum Hilaria, are both expected to testify when the trial resumes next week (begs11Nov13).
Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland has apologised after she angered fans by donning Native American dress while preparing for Halloween. The 18-year-old model took to Twitter.com to show fans possible costumes for the annual celebration on Thursday (30Oct13), with one option being the Indian Chief from Disney's Peter Pan.
After uploading a snap of her wearing a feathered headdress and sporting coloured stripes on her cheeks, Baldwin faced a backlash from some followers, who accused her of racism.
She went on to apologise for causing any offence, but angrily lashed out at critics who got personal.
She writes, "Ok everyone. I apologize if my Halloween costume offended you and your culture PERSONALLY. However, I don't apologize to a majority... Of you who thought it was necessary to return the favor with a lot of hateful mentions. A Native American costume was AN OPTION at a Halloween store. I respect all cultures and I would never mock one.
"I am Cherokee Indian and I am also well aware of what many tribes encountered in the past. And for some of you pathetic morons to bring my family and other matters into the discussion, you are all sad excuses for human beings. People make mistakes, everyone. I made a mistake and I apologize if it offended."
The blonde beauty's actress mother reportedly has Cherokee Native American ancestry.
Alec Baldwin turned to American political royalty Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for advice following his split from actress Kim Basinger, according to a new diary expose. The 30 Rock star separated from the Hollywood beauty in 2000 after seven years of marriage, and the actor decided to call on his pal Kennedy, Jr. to talk through his relationship problems and his concerns for their daughter Ireland, who was five at the time.
In a secret diary purportedly belonging to the nephew of assassinated U.S. President John F. Kennedy, he writes, "He is directing his first movie when she presented him with divorce (sic)... and moved to LA, a town he hates."
Kennedy reportedly goes on to add that he gave Baldwin "encouragement" based on his own divorce from his first wife, Emily, in 1994.
The diary, obtained by the New York Post, also reveals details about Kennedy, Jr.'s friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio, who picked the lawyer/activist's brains about "environmental stuff" back in 2001, not long after launching his own environmental charity.
In a diary entry dated 21 May, 2001, Kennedy, Jr. adds, "He wants to spend his life and resources on a clean environment."
He also recalls how his then-three-year-old son, Finn, mistook the Titanic star for a girl during a dinner party at their family home.
He writes, "Finn, looking at Leo's ponytail, asked him, 'Are you a girl?' and was emphatic that he did not want such a haircut... Leo was very sweet."
