Country star Brantley Gilbert is preparing to tie the knot after proposing to his on-off girlfriend. The Bottoms Up hitmaker popped the question to his mystery girlfriend, who hails from his hometown of Jefferson, Georgia, and told U.S. radio host Bobby Bones on Tuesday (21Oct14), that she said yes.
Talking about his romance with his new fiancee, the said, "It was one of those things that was on and off for a few years - mostly on - and then she was the one that got away for about five years.
"It came back around and I've never been happier. This little one, she's the one, and I'm a pretty stoked dude. I'm pretty excited to say the least."
In fact, Gilbert admitted he has used his unnamed fiancee as inspiration for many of his songs over the past few years, such as his 2012 track More Than Miles, with lyrics that include the line 'Cause that girl's in every song I sing/She's in every song I write/And that six string ridin' in her seat/Won't keep me warm tonight'.
Last year (13) Gilbert was set to wed fellow country star Jana Kramer, but they broke off their engagement.

A cousin of slain model Reeva Steenkamp has hit out at rumours her killer Oscar Pistorius will be freed after just 10 months in prison, insisting he should spend more time behind bars. The athlete was sentenced to five years on Tuesday (21Oct14) for shooting his blonde girlfriend four times in the bathroom at his home in Pretoria, South Africa last year (13).
He was convicted of manslaughter but cleared of murder because the judge accepted his insistence he thought the model was a burglar.
Pistorius' lawyer later stated that sentencing guidelines mean the athlete will serve just 10 months behind bars, but Kim Martin, a cousin of Steenkamp, spoke out after the hearing to insist it is not long enough.
In an exclusive interview with U.K. TV show This Morning, Martin, who gave evidence for the prosecution during the case, says, "I suppose I'm pretty numb. A lot of mixed emotions. We never came here today hoping that Oscar would be put away for very long... we never held out much hope, but at the same time, we do feel that time needs to be served to justify Reeva's untimely death...
"I still feel that we mustn't underestimate how difficult it is going to be for Oscar in prison, and at the same time I can feel sorry for him... but it doesn't mean that I don't feel that he must serve time to pay for what he's done to Reeva, so it's a very difficult situation...
"I'm a compassionate person. But compassion doesn't mean that you still believe that that person needs to serve time. I don't think 10 months is enough time, but at the same time I know it's going to be hard for him. It does not mean in any way that I still believe the sentence should be longer... I'm just saying that I sympathise, it doesn't mean in no way that I feel sorry for him... Somebody must be punished for what they do so they learn not to do it again."
Responding to viewer feedback that Pistorius' sentence was unfairly lenient, she adds, "Yes, it's not fair at all. But for us as a family, to carry on with so much hate in our hearts, we're never going to heal... we'll never start our process of healing. And no, we're not happy about it, but what can you do? You have to carry on. The team did the best with what they had. It was a very difficult case. It was only Reeva and Oscar there that night and Oscar will have to live with what he's done, and the truth, for the rest of his life."
Disgraced paralympian Oscar Pistorius has been jailed for five years for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The South African sportsman shot the blonde model four times in the bathroom of his home in Pretoria on Valentine's Day last year (14Feb13) after mistaking her for a burglar. Judge Thokozile Masipa sentenced the shamed athlete to five years in prison at a hearing on Tuesday (21Oct14), telling the court the punishment is "firm and just, both to society and to the accused". However, a member of Pistorius' legal team later claimed outside court that sentencing guidelines dictate the athlete will only spend around 10 months in prison, serving the rest of his sentence under house arrest. Pistorius was controversially cleared of murder in September (14) after a high-profile trial, and was convicted of culpable homicide, or manslaughter, because his use of a firearm was deemed "negligent". He was also found guilty of a separate charge of illegally discharging a firearm in a restaurant, and given a three year sentence, which has been suspended for five years on the condition he is not found guilty of firearm negligence during that period. The athlete was earlier cleared of two other firearms charges - one of firing a gun out of a car sunroof and one of illegally possessing ammunition. Speaking outside court following the hearing, the model's mother June Steenkamp said she was happy with the sentence as justice has been served, adding, "He is gonna pay something... I'm just glad it's over..." Steenkamp's father Barry said, "We are satisfied, yes." Pistorius was later seen exiting the court and being driven to jail in a police van as a large crowd cheered and whistled.
"Oh yes, we've spoken many times since he's gone from a bridegroom to a husband... (and) the only advice that I had (for him) was to find your person - and he's found his person." Julia Roberts on the advice she gave pal George Clooney before he tied the knot with new wife Amal in Italy last month (Sep14).
Actor Finn Wittrock has wed his longtime girlfriend. The Noah star and his fiancee Sarah Roberts exchanged vows over the weekend (18-19Oct14), and on Sunday (19Oct14), Wittrock posted a photo of the newlyweds on a balcony to Twitter.com with the caption, "Yes, this happened..."
He also tweeted a picture of the pair posing with their wedding party.
Details of the location of the ceremony have not yet been released.
Actress Zoe Saldana has revealed pregnancy has made her crave previously unwanted compliments about the way that she looks.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star explains she usually finds comments about her appearance offensive, but since now she is yearning for the positive attention. She explains, "People think that they're not supposed to compliment pregnant women. The best thing a pregnant woman can hear is '(You're) sexy'. It's like, 'Oh, you think I'm sexy, yes I'm sexy...' "Usually I'm sort of, like, such an activist and (all about) women's rights, like, 'Excuse me, do not objectify me!' But now that I'm pregnant, I'm kind of like itching for sexy comments or compliments. Not getting picked up because my husband will kill you, but like, 'Your wife is looking hot'."
"It's a really elegant kind of... sparse story that she has written about a dysfunctional couple. It's really about grief, it's a couple dealing with grief... and yes, this is our honeymoon. Malta is not a bad place to be, I'll tell you that." Brad Pitt on his upcoming film By The Sea, which is written, directed and stars his new wife Angelina Jolie. The couple wed in August (14) after nine years together, and jumped right into filming after their ceremony in France.
Rosie Perez has become the latest celebrity to pay tribute to late actress Elizabeth Pena, following the news of her death on Wednesday (15Oct14). The 55 year old passed away at a hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday (14Oct14), and fellow Latina Perez took a moment on her U.S. talk show The View on Thursday (16Oct14) to remember the late star, praising her for choosing roles which advanced Latinos in Hollywood.
She said, "I appreciated her because she said 'no' to a lot of roles, but she also said 'yes' and she fought for a lot of roles such as Jacob's Ladder; she had to fight hard for that.
"She played other roles, such as a maid in Down and Out in Beverly Hills, with perfect comedic timing and brought dignity and a back story to that character. So you are missed and my condolences and prayers to the family."
Her The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg added, "What a great woman, she was really kind."
Actress and comedienne Amy Poehler has revealed she once experimented with cocaine and Ecstasy. The Parks and Recreation star has opened up about her drug use in new memoir Yes, Please, and recalls using cocaine in her 20s - and initially enjoying the way it made her feel.
In an excerpt from the book, she writes, "I tried cocaine, which I instantly loved but eventually hated. Cocaine is terrific if you want to hang out with people you don't know very well and play ping-pong all night. It's bad for almost everything else... The day after cocaine is rough."
Poehler also experimented with Ecstasy at a New Year's Eve party, but she now admits she can no longer handle the effects of the drugs - because she is now a mum.
She continues, "(We) danced and drank water and loved each other, (but) I also remember the next day when I thought I had no friends and I was so sad I wanted to sink into the carpet and permanently live there."
She adds, "The next day is the thing I can't pull off anymore. How do you explain to a four and six-year-old that you can't play Rescue Bots because you have to spend all day in bed eating Cape Cod potato chips and watching The Bicycle Thief?"
Poehler doesn't dabble in hard drugs anymore, but admits she still smokes marijuana occasionally.
She continues, "I can't perform, drive or write stoned, and therefore I smoke pot a lot less than I used to."
