Funnyman John Cleese left TV presenters scrambling to apologise when he turned the air blue on a live U.K. daytime show after becoming confused about Britain's censorship rules. The Monty Python star appeared on This Morning on Monday (13Oct14) to promote his new memoir, and during the interview he jokingly referred to his former comic colleague Michael Palin as "a b**tard".
Presenter Phillip Schofield immediately apologised for the slip, prompting Cleese to query the incident and revealing he misunderstood the U.K.'s broadcasting rules which ban adult content before 9pm.
After Schofield said sorry to viewers, Cleese said, "Why? It's nine o'clock isn't it?" and Schofield replied, "Yes. The wrong one. It's alright at the later nine o'clock."
Cleese then revealed he had genuinely misunderstood the rules, saying, "What? You can't say (a swear word) before nine in the evening? Really? I didn't realise that."
British singer Marianne Faithfull has quit smoking after almost 50 years. The As Tears Go By hitmaker, who was homeless and hooked on heroin at her lowest ebb, has puffed tobacco for decades but finally managed to quit earlier this year (14).

If you go into the seven deadly sins, things like drugs, alcohol, sex, smoking, that's all over. Sex, who knows? But as far as I can tell, I think it's probably over, yes."

"@IAMKELLYBROOK silly me for sending pictures to someone I thought I could trust but then would leak them #byaccident"

She promptly deleted the tweet but not before her ex saw it. He responded, "@IAMKELLYBROOK yes very grown up tweeting 'ur knobs online' how about use email thanks (sic)."
Brook herself has been a victim of the ongoing wave of nude celebrity leaks - naked pictures of herself appeared online last month (Sep14) alongside candid shots of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Meagan Good, among others.
The Piranha 3D star recently addressed the leak, which is currently under investigation by the FBI, tweeting, "My Lawyer is currently dealing with 18 Women who have all had their iCloud hacked. It is a Sex Crime and a complete invasion of Privacy.
"We will find this person and they will be prosecuted. Not having it. Some very young innocent women have been targeted it's so wrong."

Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles felt so "lost" after the breakdown of her 31-year marriage in 2009, she had to take a break from her hectic lifestyle to build up her self-confidence. The stylist filed for divorce from the singer's manager dad Mathew Knowles after he was accused of fathering a lovechild with another woman, and Tina, who admits her marriage had been on the rocks for some time, reveals her self-esteem really suffered as a result of the shocking discovery.
Speaking at the Women & Money Leadership Luncheon in Houston, Texas last week (ends03Oct14), she explained, "I just really had forgotten how to live. I had just lost all of myself so I realise now that part of the low self-esteem was, yes, being 58 and having to start over again, and the other part is that I just lost myself.
"I was so busy working and going and taking care of everybody else that I just forgot about Tina.
"I would tell my kids, 'You know what, you can call me and I'll be there if it's something important, but otherwise, I'm taking care of Tina. This is my selfish moment.' And before I knew it, I started liking me again! I started being important, not everybody else."
Knowles, whose divorce was finalised in 2011, has since found love again with actor Richard Lawson, but she confesses it took a little persuading before she decided to date her longtime family friend.
She recalled, "We went to lunch and he said, 'I want to support you during this time,' because Mathew - he's friends with Mathew, too - just got married yesterday. So he came to Houston, I went to L.A. afterwards.
"It's been now a year and five months and I'm in a committed relationship with that handsome man! And I'm in my happiest I been in a long, long time."
Mathew Knowles wed former model Gena Avery in June, 2013.

He added, "I know there’s going to be a bunch more Marvel movies, and they have big ideas of how to do it best."
And when DeGeneres pushed for a firm 'yes', he added, "OK, yes!"
Newlywed Angelina Jolie is convinced her late mother is watching over her as she raises her six children, because she can "feel her influence".
The Maleficent star was left devastated when actress/producer Marcheline Bertrand lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2007, but Jolie insists her mom's presence is always prominent in her life, particularly when she's with her biological girls. She tells France's Marie Claire magazine, "I can feel her influence over me then. I see that my way of raising them resembles the way she raised my brother and I. "It's more apparent with my daughters Shiloh and Vivienne. Therefore, yes, my mother is there, present in this influence, all the time... She was very soft but could move mountains for her kids. That's something I always admire in women: that mix of softness and strength."
Jolie shares six kids with her husband Brad Pitt - adopted children Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, and Zahara, 9, and biological offspring Shiloh, 8, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. The Hollywood supercouple wed in August (14).

She explains, "I was at a reception and this gorgeous woman came over to my husband and her name is Charlize. And she said, 'Ozzy, if I could I would marry you.'
"I was like, 'Really?' and she was like, 'Yes!'. She loved him. I was like, 'Yes! That's my husband.'"
Theron clearly has a thing for older men - the 39 year old is currently dating Sean Penn, 54.
