The son of revered E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg has reportedly signed up to replace Joey Jordison in masked heavy rock act Slipknot. The band revealed its new masks earlier this week (beg08Sep14), but singer Corey Taylor has yet to reveal the identity of his new bass player and drummer.
However, insiders claim former Mastodon road crew member Alessandro Venturella has stepped in to replace the late Paul Gray on bass, and Jay Weinberg, who has often sat in for his dad on Bruce Springsteen dates, is the band's new drummer.
Slipknot's upcoming fifth studio album, 5: The Gray Chapter, will be the group's first without Gray, who died in 2010, and Jordison.

Liza Minnelli was unable to attend Joan Rivers' funeral on Sunday (07Sep14) as she is preparing to undergo back surgery following a fall at her home.
The singer/actress wanted to pay her last respects to the veteran funnywoman at her memorial service in the Big Apple, but Minnelli recently took a tumble which left her unable to walk. She is preparing to undergo spinal surgery, and could not make it to Rivers' star-studded send-off on Sunday.
Minnelli tells the New York Post, "I couldn't go to Joan Rivers' funeral, which I desperately wanted to because I loved her, but I couldn't go because I can't walk. I'm in bed. Going in for surgery. I broke my lower back. Remember a few years ago I was in a wheelchair because I had trouble with my spine? They operated on it then. Well, now, again. They'll have to fuse it. I was picking up my dogs - and they jumped. And I got twisted and fell. I thought it's nothing. But it wasn't nothing. It became something. After an X-ray, seems I busted it and have to have it fused. The operation's next week."
Rivers died at the age of 81 on 4 September (14).

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly converting to Judaism.
The Iron Man star has been practicing Kabbalah, an offshoot of Judaism, for several years and is now looking to make a full transition into the religion, according to the New York Post.
Paltrow has family ties to Judaism - in 2011, she discovered her ancestors came from a long line of East European rabbis on genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? and her father, Bruce Paltrow, was a practicing Jew. Her mother, Blythe Danner, is Christian and the actress was raised practicing both religions.
Robert De Niro and Zac Efron are teaming up to star in new adult comedy Driving Dick Kelly. The film stars De Niro as a recently widowed, salacious U.S. Army veteran who manages to trick his uptight grandson, played by Efron, to drive him to Florida for spring break.
According to TheWrap.com, veteran actors Jeff Bridges and Michael Douglas were also up for the role that eventually went to De Niro.
Efron, who performed an impersonation of De Niro in college comedy Neighbors earlier this year (14), previously starred in 2011's New Year's Eve with the legendary actor, but the two did not share any scenes together.
Gwyneth Paltrow had to turn down the chance to make her movie debut in rapper Vanilla Ice's 1991 movie Cool As Ice, because her dad wouldn't let her take on the role. Filmmaker Bruce Paltrow felt the part would be a terrible career move for his actress daughter, and insisted she had to wait for another project to come along.
She says, "My father was very protective of me and the first movie, actually, that I ever got offered was to be in the Vanilla Ice movie. My dad wouldn't let me do it.
"I was like, 'But dad, it's, like, a part in a movie'. He was like, 'Nope!'"
The actress finally made her movie break the same year when she played Young Wendy in family friend Steven Spielberg's Hook.

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's daughter Tallulah has left a treatment centre after receiving help for various issues. The 20 year old entered a facility on 23 July (14) to deal with reported alcohol and drug abuse problems and on Wednesday (03Sep14), Moore arrived to the centre to take her daughter home, according to People magazine.
Multiple sources suggest her time in treatment was also related to her battle with body dysmorphia as a teen.
Prior to entering the facility, Willis publicly spoke about how she deliberately dressed provocatively and starved herself to stay thin.
She told fashion site Stylelikeu, "I was reading those stupid f**king tabloids when I was like 13 and feeling like I was ugly... That made me dress like I was showing off my boobs and my butt and showing off those things that I was getting attention for... It took me until a year ago (to get better)...
"I was trapped in this body... and I hated that I was sexy... I started starving myself and losing a bunch of weight and I got down to like 95 pounds... I lost my curves and when my boobs shrivelled up into like nothing and I had no shape. I was just saggy skin everywhere... It put me in even more of a cage."
