Lindsay Lohan may have some explaining to do after revealing she "rolled" the body bag containing Whitney Houston's remains while serving time at the Los Angeles County Morgue.
The actress was performing her community service there in February, 2012, following a probation violation when she claims Houston's body was brought in and assigned to her. Talking about her chequered past in an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Mean Girls star says, "It's different for me than it would be for other people. Like, no one would really have to work at the morgue in L.A. and roll a body bag for Whitney Houston."
But staff at the L.A. Coroner's office insist that, although the timeline may be correct, Lohan would not have come in contact with Houston.
A spokesman tells TMZ.com that Houston's remains were never in a body bag and insists that no one in the probation programme came in contact with the tragic singer's body. The official adds Whitney was wrapped in plastic with a sheet cover the entire time she was at the morgue.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has criticised U.S. President Barack Obama for insulting her rapper husband Kanye West, insisting the American leader should not comment on pop culture. West was furious after Obama branded him a "jacka**" for interrupting Taylor Swift's speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, and the hip-hop star was slighted again last year (13) when the president accused the couple of encouraging youngsters to become obsessed with wealth and fame.
Kardashian has now urged Obama to keep his thoughts on popular culture to himself, telling Britain's GQ magazine, "I don't think it's very appropriate for the president of the United States to be commenting on pop culture... I mean, calling people 'jacka**'?... I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion - even him. I was just like, 'Why is he even commenting on this?'"
Obama made the "jacka**" remark to an aide as he prepared for an interview but it was unwittingly caught on camera and later released.
Kim Kardashian chose to call her daughter North West after the bizarre name came to her attention through gossip columns.
The reality TV star welcomed her first child with rapper husband Kanye West last summer (14) and she has now revealed she had no intention of calling her little girl North until she saw it rumored in magazines. Kardashian and West decided it was a good idea, and they made it official after a number of their famous friends mentioned the rumour to them.
She tells Britain's GQ magazine, "It was a rumor in the press and we'd never really considered it seriously. But Kanye and I were having lunch... and Pharrell (Williams) came over to us and said, 'Oh my God, are you guys really going to call your daughter North? That is the best name.' Then a little while later (U.S. Vogue editor) Anna Wintour came over and asked the same thing. She told us: 'North is a genius name.' Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck."
Police were called to a star-studded party in London following the GQ Men of the Year Awards to investigate a noise complaint. After the glitzy prizegiving on Tuesday night (02Sep14), celebrity guests including Gerard Butler, Jamie Dornan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cara Delevingne and Samuel L. Jackson decamped to a private afterparty at the home of a public relations executive.
However, the bash was interrupted by cops who were called in to investigate complaints from neighbours over loud noise coming from the mansion.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard tells Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "Police were called at 1.36am... to a large party. The call was passed on (to) Camden Council's Environmental Health Officer."
A statement from the local borough council adds, "Details of the noise nuisance were recorded. If a future complaint is received by the council, the details will be taken into account on (whether) further action is required."
Bosses at U.K. men's magazine GQ were left more than a little red-faced on Tuesday night (02Sep14) when Kim Kardashian walked off with the wrong award. The socialite and reality TV star was honoured with the publication's Woman of the Year trophy at the annual GQ Men of the Year gala in London and she was backstage chatting to the press when she realised she had been handed a prize with Pharrell Williams' name on it.
Asked what she planned to do with the accolade, Kanye West's wife took a loving glance at the trophy and said, "Oh, it says it's for Pharrell."
She then chuckled, "I've been taking photos with that. I hope no one notices that."
The mishap was quickly remedied and Williams collected the right award when he was named Solo Artist of the Year.
Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan has advised the world's leading showbiz stars to quit using social media to stop a repeat of the nude pictures leak scandal. Dornan, who plays bondage-loving businessman Christian Grey in the upcoming movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, was disgusted after hackers stole nude photos of 100 famous women including actress Jennifer Lawrence and model Kate Upton.
It has sparked outrage in Hollywood amid a probe by agents at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and prompted calls for legal action against the hackers, but Dornan is adamant cyber-crime is impossible to guard against.
He is now urging all famous women to avoid using online storage devices to hold their private photographs.
Speaking at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday (02Sep14), Dornan says, "What can you do? It's sort of disgusting. I don't know how they are going to keep control over it but there seems to be so many different ways that your information can be accessed. I think the thing to do is step away from social media if you can."
Other stars at the event also sent their sympathy to those caught up in the furore, with pop star Jessie J saying, "I think it's really awful and I think that nobody deserves to have their privacy tampered with. I think everyone deserves their sanity, and sanity is privacy. You need something for yourself, so I hope that it's sorted and it doesn't happen again."
Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens, whose former co-star Jessica Brown Findlay was among those affected by the leak, says, "It's pretty despicable behaviour really and I think the practice of human online behaviour has to evolve. I think people are behaving in a way online that they never would in real life and it's creating a warped new reality. It's very, very frightening."
Actor Douglas Booth, who was recently rumoured to be dating Miley Cyrus, adds, "I think it should be treated the same way as sexual assault. I think it should be treated criminally and I hope that the person goes to prison for a very long time."
British musician Jools Holland was left red-faced at GQ magazine's International Man of the Year honour in London on Tuesday night (02Sep14) when he fell over on the red carpet. The star laughed off the mishap and took a bow in front of photographers.
Jonah Hill poked fun at an ex-girlfriend while picking up GQ magazine's International Man of the Year honour in London on Tuesday night (02Sep14).
The Wolf of Wall Street star took aim at his sixth grade love while accepting the style trophy from Bradley Cooper. Hill said, "Emily, my first girlfriend... You broke my heart and left it shattered. It was really sad. I know you were young and love is wild and you grow apart, but I'm GQ International Man of the f**king Year!"
The twice Oscar-nominated star joined Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Pharrell Williams, Van Morrison, New Order, new Doctor Who Peter Capaldi, racing driver Lewis Hamilton and Paulo Nutini among the big style winners, while Johnny Depp presented punk veteran Iggy Pop with GQ's Icon Award at the Royal Opera House.
And the women weren't left out - Kim Kardashian West, who was joined on the red carpet by her husband Kanye West, picked up the Woman of the Year prize and stunned in a custom-designed haute couture Ralph & Russo gown. Reminding the world her full name is now Kim Kardashian West, the reality TV star said, "I want to thank GQ for making me Woman of the Year, and my husband for making me feel like woman of the year every day."
Among those handing over the top prizes at the ceremony Lindsay Lohan, Bradley Cooper, Gerard Butler, Rita Ora, Cara Delevingne, Daisy Lowe, Bob Geldof, Pippa Middleton and author E.L. James, who presented her Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan with a Breakthrough Award.

Actress Lizzy Caplan has brushed off rumours suggesting she is dating X-Men hunk James Marsden, insisting they are simply "best friends".
The Masters of Sex star appeared alongside Marsden in 2012 comedy Bachelorette and they recently sparked speculation their relationship had turned romantic after they were spotted spending time together on numerous occasions. However, Caplan is adamant the claims are not true, telling People.com, "He's just one of my best friends. He's one of my dearest friends."
The actress previously dated Friends star Matthew Perry for six years before their split in early 2012, while Marsden separated from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Linde, in 2011.
