Reclusive funnyman Dave Chappelle is returning to the spotlight to headline a U.S. comedy tour with the Flight Of The Conchords duo. The cult comedian, who was once considered among the world's funniest people, abruptly walked away from his hit TV programme, Chappelle's Show, in 2005 and has kept a low profile ever since.
He made a handful of impromptu stand-up appearances in New York earlier this year (13), joining pals including Chris Rock and Kevin Hart at the famous Comedy Cellar venue, and now he has announced plans to hit the road for a 13-date trek.
The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Tour, presented by Will Ferrell's Funny Or Die website, will also feature New Zealanders Brett McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, aka Flight of the Conchords, in addition to Al Madrigal, Brody Stevens and Demetri Martin, among others.
The shows will kick off in Austin, Texas on 23 August (13) and will touch down in New Jersey, Colorado, Arizona and Michigan before wrapping up in Mountain View, California on 20 September (13).
Actors Ben Affleck and Vince Vaughn have been unveiled as honourees of the Guys Choice Awards ahead of this year's (13) ceremony. The Argo star and director has been named Guy of the Year, Vaughn has landed the Guycon award and funnyman Kevin Hart has bagged the Stand-Up of the Year honour.
Also among the winners of Spike TV's annual ceremony are chat show host Jimmy Kimmel (Funniest M.F. award) and Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, who was named the recipient of the Holy Grail of Hot prize.
The ceremony, which will also feature public-voted awards, is slated to take place in California on 8 June (13).
Get ready for more drama on The CW this fall: The network today renewed its veteran shows Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast and picked up a full season of The Originals, its spinoff of The Vampire Diaries. The shows join the already-renewed Supernatural, Arrow, and Vampire Diaries on the network's 2013-2014 schedule.
"As soon as we saw last night’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, we knew we wanted more of The Originals — Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with The Vampire Diaries, which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for The Originals," The CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. "We’re also very excited to bring back Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie for next season — both series continue to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate. I’m very happy to have all three series on the schedule for next season."
The Originals follows three fan favorite Vampire Diaries characters, the three original vampire siblings, as they return to New Orleans, the city they helped found. The spin-off episode earned 2.2 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, down 31 percent from TVD's average but still a solid performance for The CW.
Hart of Dixie is one of The CW's best-performing shows online, while Beauty and the Beast won a People's Choice Award for Favorite New Drama.
There's still no word on the fate of The Carrie Diaries, the network's critically beloved Sex and the City prequel, or Friday night spy action drama Nikita. The network will present its full 2013-2014 schedule to advertisers at its upfront presentation in New York in May.

Samuel L. Jackson and the Backstreet Boys were among the stars who came together in Los Angeles on Thursday (25Apr13) to help Seth Rogen raise more than $400,000 (£250,000) for an Alzheimer's disease charity. The Knocked Up actor and his wife Lauren Miller oversaw the second annual Hilarity for Charity bash, which they set up to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association in honour of Miller's mother, who was diagnosed with the condition at the age of 55.
Comedian Kevin Hart took to the stage for a stand-up set, during which he joked about his recent DUI arrest, but the evening took a sombre turn when Samuel L. Jackson opened up about his own mother's battle with Alzheimer's prior to her death last year (12).
He told the audience, "I have the potential to be one of the people you're raising money for. It's a pretty devastating disease... but (those who have it) can also be very funny. I enjoyed her life and I'm glad I had her. You're all here and you're all going to be able to do something for a lot of people."
The Backstreet Boys provided the musical entertainment, performing a number of their hits, and Rogen revealed his director pal Judd Apatow had promised to match up to $15,000 (£9,375) in donations from the evening.
An email sent from Apatow to Rogen read, "If you don't donate, I will keep my money and spend it on private jets and Botox for my children. (Daughter) Maude has a wrinkle between her eyes I would like to smooth out, and Iris has some crow's feet that look terrible on 10 year olds."
Rogen joked, "He's had a lot to drink, so I just hope this is legally binding."
Comedian Kevin Hart has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) following his arrest earlier this month (Apr13). Police in California pulled over the funnyman's car after he was spotted driving erratically in the early hours of 14 April (13), and he was booked on a misdemeanour DUI charge when he failed to complete a field sobriety test.
Editors at TMZ.com report the Los Angeles City Attorney has now charged Hart with two misdemeanour counts of DUI.
Hart took to his Twitter.com page after he was released on bail to express his regret over the arrest, stating, "Drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid s**t this (sic)! This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't... everything happens for a reason."

Comedian Kevin Hart was arrested early on the morning of Sunday April 14 for a misdemeanor DUI near Los Angeles. He was pulled over and arrested at 4:51 a.m. after being recorded driving his black Mercedes faster than 90 mph.
California Highway Patrol Officer Ed Jacobs says that Hart "was speeding and driving erratically" and almost hit a gas tanker. Jacobs also confirms that Hart had a female passenger who was sent home in a taxi following his arrest. Hart failed a sobriety test, but was apparently very upfront about the fact that he was intoxicated. After the incident he tweeted, "when the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'WHY WASTE OUR TIME...I'M DRUNK MAN'....#TrueStory."
Despite reports to the contrary, Hart was not released on bond. Jacobs says, "[Hart] was transported and placed in jail," in L.A. However, when people are arrested for DUI in California they are held and released after about six hours or when they are no longer under the influence. "They don't have to bail out on a DUI. They let you go," Jacobs says. Hart was given an initial fine of $5,000, though. He didn't have to pay that to be released from jail, and can pay it at a later date when he makes a court appearance.
Hart got reflective and serious on Twitter when mentioning the incident. "Drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter," he tweeted. "People have lost lives because of stupid s***. This is a wake-up call for me. I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't. Everything happens for a reason."
On a lighter note, Hart also said that he completed 6,000 push-ups and 13,000 sit-ups while "in the pin," and he gave a shout-out to his "celly" Mark. "We exchanged war stories LMFAO."

Comic Kevin Hart has branded his DUI arrest on Sunday (14Apr13) a "wake up call" and vowed to change his ways in future. The funnyman's car was pulled over by police in California in the early hours of Sunday after cops spotted him driving erratically. He was unable to complete a field sobriety test and was booked on a misdemeanour driving under the influence (DUI) charge.
After he was released on bail, Hart reached out to his fans on Twitter.com to express his regret over the arrest.
He writes, "When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'Why waste our time... I'm drunk, man'.
"On some real s**t... drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid s**t this (sic)!
"This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't... everything happens for a reason."
Comedian Kevin Hart wasn't laughing when he was pulled over by police in California on Sunday morning (14Apr13) and arrested on suspicion of DUI. Reports suggest traffic cops stopped him after he was spotted speeding and "driving erratic" in his black Mercedes on a freeway at just after 4am local time.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman tells TMZ.com he was "going 90 MPH" and "almost collided with a gas tanker truck."
He showed "objective signs of intoxication" and was "unable to perform field sobriety tests," according to the CHP.
He was booked into jail for misdemeanour DUI and is currently being held on a $5,000 (£3,125) bond.
Whether or not you enjoyed his skits, you have to hand it to Justin Timberlake — the crooner's fifth time hosting gave Saturday Night Live a 23 percent ratings surge over last week's outing with Kevin Hart, Deadline reports. Last night’s show averaged a 5.9/15 in metered-market households, making it the SNL's best outing since January 7, 2012. Bring it on in to omeletteville, indeed.
