David Oyelowo and Oprah Winfrey were among the stars who turned out for a special screening of their movie Selma at the White House. The British actor, who plays Martin Luther King, Jr. in the civil rights drama, met U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the event on Friday (16Jan15) at their official residence in Washington, D.C.
He attended with his wife, Jessica, and their kids as well as his father Stephen, and New York Post gossip column Page Six reports that Obama was full of praise for Oyelowo's young son, saying, "As handsome as David is, I am sure we'll see a lot more from his son, who is even more handsome."
Selma star/producer Winfrey was also on hand for the screening along with director Ava DuVernay and rapper Common, who collaborated with John Legend on the film's Oscar-nominated song Glory.
Lisa Bonet's manager has dismissed a cryptic tweet which appeared to reference the actress' former TV co-star Bill Cosby, insisting the message was sent from a fake Twitter account which has now been closed down. Bonet, who played the troubled funnyman's onscreen daughter in The Cosby Show, was believed to have passed comment on the funnyman's current sex scandal after a mysterious message appeared on a page attributed to her.
The tweet read, "According to the karma of past actions, one's destiny unfolds, even though everyone wants to be so lucky... Nothing stays in the dark 4ever (forever)!"
However, Bonet's talent manager Jillian Neal has revealed the message was sent from a fake account, which has since been shut down.
She tells Thewrap.com, "I can assure you that is not her Twitter account and I have had the account suspended... (Bonet) continues to have no comment on the subject."

His accusers include model-turned-TV personality Janice Dickinson, actresses Barbara Bowman and Louisa Moritz, and former Law & Order star Michelle Hurd.
The funnyman has made a point of staying silent on the matter, but has denied the allegations through his lawyer.
Supermodel Heidi Klum outdid herself by transforming into a realistic-looking butterfly for her annual Halloween party on Friday (31Oct14). The TV personality, who is famed for her elaborate costumes, was unrecognisable as the colourful insect as her nose disappeared under prosthetics and large fly eyes and feelers were attached to her head.
Klum, who documented the lengthy make-up process on her Twitter.com page, wore a multi-coloured leotard with attached wings while the rest of her body was painted blue and purple with black spots.
She celebrated her annual party at TAO Downtown nightclub in New York with guests including Joe Jonas, actor Benjamin McKenzie, Michelle Trachtenberg and singer Ashanti.

Pop star Miley Cyrus has been reaching out to fans via her Facebook.com page to thank homeless youths for sharing their stories online. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker highlighted the social issue at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Aug14), when she allowed homeless 22-year-old Jesse Helt to collect her Video of the Year prize on behalf of all displaced people across the U.S. and urge fans to donate to Los Angeles shelter, My Friend's Place.
It was subsequently revealed that Helt had a warrant out for his arrest for a probation violation in his native Oregon, and he ended up surrendering to police days later.
Cyrus refused to turn her back on her new friend and even helped to pay for his legal fees, and she has since been inundated with messages of support on her Facebook page from others who have experienced similar difficulties in their lives.
One fan, Michelle Burton, sympathised with Helt, writing, "Wanted or not it's probably from being homeless. Having to brake (sic) into abandoned houses to sleep when I was 15 was something I had to do don't go judging if you don't know there (sic) situation."
The singer made a point to personally respond to a number of the posts, and replied to Burton, "Exactly! Instead of rushing to judgment (sic), we need to look deeper."
Another devotee, named Tanya Robles, opened up about living in a van and having to use public bathrooms to clean herself, writing, "I know how it feels to be homeless. Be thankful for what you have", prompting Cyrus to write back, "Thank you for your support and for telling your story! Young people should be able to enjoy their youth without worrying where their next meal is coming from. This is why I chose (to support) MFP (My Friend's Place shelter in Los Angeles), so that we can put an end to youth homelessness."
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar has added to her photo tribute to late co-star Robin Williams by calling the tragic funnyman the "father I always dreamed of having". Gellar played the Good Morning, Vietnam star's daughter in TV comedy The Crazy Ones and was so upset by the news of his passing on Monday (11Aug14), she simply posted photos of herself with Williams on her social media accounts.
She has since updated her Twitter.com page with the note, "I just want to say thank you for all the kind words and tributes. The outpouring of love is spectacular and greatly appreciated."
And the actress tells People.com, "My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the father I had always dreamed of having.
"There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you."
She then quoted the beginning of the Serenity Prayer, which is used as a meditation for recovering addicts, like Williams, who checked in to rehab earlier this summer (14) to focus on his sobriety.
She said, "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
Williams committed suicide at his home in Marin County, California on Monday, aged 63.

Actor Shia Labeouf has been charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct following his arrest during a performance of Broadway's Cabaret on Thursday night (26Jun14).
The Transformers star caused a stir on the Great White Way while attending the musical, starring Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming, at the Studio 54 theatre. Reports suggest LaBeouf was smoking inside the venue.
Police were called during the intermission and the actor was escorted out in handcuffs. He was arrested amid allegations of violent behaviour and obscene language, and was subsequently charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
As the furore took place on Thursday, Cabaret castmember Danny Burstein commented on the drama in a post on his Facebook page, writing, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your places call for Act II. Also, to let you know, Shia LaBeouf has just been escorted from the building in handcuffs."
Tony Award nominated actor/composer Benj Pasek was also took to Twitter, writing, "Just saw Shia LaBeouf in handcuffs in tears surrounded by 6 police officers outside of Cabaret the musical. Oh New York, u is a crazy b**ch (sic)."
The actor has shocked fans in recent months with his increasing bizarre behaviour, including wearing a brown paper bag over his head on the red carpet at the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany earlier this year (14) and setting himself up in a bizarre live art installation in Los Angeles.
Punk icon John Lydon is disappointed and shocked following the cancellation of his touring Jesus Christ Superstar musical. The former Sex Pistols star was in rehearsals as King Herod when he learned the show had been cancelled last week (ends30May14).
Reports suggest poor ticket sales were to blame, but a representative for Lydon admits he and castmates Michelle Williams, rocker Brandon Boyd and ex-'N SYNC star J.C. Chasez are still baffled by the news.
In a tweet on Lydon's official Twitter.com page, the rep writes, "Sorry for the delay updating people. We are in as much shock over the cancellation of Jesus Christ Superstar as everyone else.
"Rehearsals had been going extremely well. John was looking forward to being King Herod & working with such a great bunch of people.
"We are all bitterly disappointed. We hope people were not too inconvenienced. We know flights and hotels were booked... We feel for everyone from the fans to the cast and crew who were a joy to work with. If we knew more we would tell you."
The musical was just two weeks from opening night when producers cancelled the tour.
Newly-single Evan Rachel Wood has returned to Twitter.com to slam "lies" suggesting she "hooked up" with fellow actress Michelle Rodriguez following her split from husband Jamie Bell.
The Wrestler beauty logged off her social networking page on Wednesday (28May14), revealing she was stepping away from Twitter "for a while", hours before news of her marriage breakdown was announced. However, the bisexual star decided to break her Twitter silence on Friday (30May14) to dismiss false reports linking her to Fast & Furious actress Rodriguez after they both attended the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center's 2014 An Evening with Women fundraiser, which took place in early May (14).
Wood tweeted, "Looks like someone is already trying to start a rumor that I 'hooked up' with Michelle Rodriguez at 'an evening with women'. "I have never even said 'hello' to Michelle Rodriguez. I think it's convenient someone chose to make up the story now and not that night." Sharing a video clip from the event, she added, "If 'a source' saw us leave together, why am I seen here leaving alone?"
She continued, "This is 'journalism' at its lowest. Complete lies made up to exploit a public separation, as if that isn't hard enough. Disgusting. Also just because you are in a photo with someone doesn't mean you spoke or slept together. Really guys?"
Wood and British actor Bell wed in October, 2012 and welcomed a baby boy last July (13).
Julianne Moore honoured Samuel L. Jackson's wife Latanya Richardson Jackson by reading out a special note of praise from America's First Lady Michelle Obama at a cast party this week (beg26May14). Jackson has been nominated for a 2014 Tony Award for her performance in a Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun, and the cast celebrated the achievement ahead of the prizegiving next month (Jun14) by hosting a bash in New York City on Tuesday night (27May14).
Actress Moore was among the revellers at the party, held at Lady Mendl's Tea Salon in Manhattan, and she read out a tribute to the guest of honour from the First Lady, who made a special trip to see the show last month (Apr14), along with her husband, U.S. President Barack Obama.
According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, the note read, "I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see its (the play's) revival. Barack and I both agree your portrayal of (character) Mama stole the show."
