Fashion biopic Saint Laurent looks set to win big at France's Cesar Awards after scooping a massive 10 nominations. The drama, based on the life of designer Yves Saint Laurent, is up for a host of prizes including Best Film, Best Director for Bertrand Bonello and Best Actor for Gaspard Ulliel at the French version of the Academy Awards.
Oscar-nominated picture Timbuktu follows behind with eight nods, and both movies will compete with Love at First Sight, Eastern Boys, The Belier Family, Hippocrates and Sils Maria to be named Best Film.
Ulliel will vie for the Best Actor title alongside Guillaume Canet for Next Time I'll Aim for the Heart, Francois Damiens (The Belier Family), Vincent Lacoste (Hippocrates), Niels Arestrup (Diplomatie), Romain Duris (The New Girlfriend) and Pierre Niney for Yves Saint Laurent, a different film about the fashion icon.
French stars Juliette Binoche and Marion Cotillard will do battle for the Best Actress prize for their roles in Sils Maria and Two Days, One Night respectively. Other nominees include Catherine Deneuve for Dans la Cour, Emilie Dequenne (Not My Type), Adele Haenel (Love at First Fight), Sandrine Kiberlain (Elle l'Adore) and Karin Viard (The Belier Family).
Twilight star Kristen Stewart is also among the Cesar nominees after landing a Best Supporting Actress nod for Sils Maria.
Nominees in the Foreign Film category include The Grand Budapest Hotel, Boyhood, 12 Years A Slave, Two Days, One Night, Winter Sleep, Ida and Mommy.
Sean Penn will receive an honorary Cesar at the ceremony in Paris, France on 20 February (15).
