Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi blames growing up in the spotlight for her spiral into booze and drug addition. The Grease star's daughter with actor Matt Lattanzi admits she fell into a bad crowd after struggling to cope with being the offspring of a famous couple, and quickly became hooked on cocaine.
In an interview with Australian magazine Women's Day, she says, "Growing up I was under immense pressure being the daughter of such a famous woman.
"You don't have a normal childhood and you don't have that space to make mistakes and find your feet, as everyone is watching you.
"I started to get into the party scene, drinking every night, and then before long I got introduced to cocaine and all of a sudden, the combination of those things took away all the fear and depression and that is when the cycle began."
Lattanzi has been in a rehab centre for the last seven months and now she's adamant she has finally overcome her demons at the age of 27.
She adds, "I honestly felt that for the first time in my life there was hope. I am really proud of how far I've come and so are all my family..."
The Grease star's singer/actress daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 24, is engaged to marry martial artist James Driskill after a whirlwind romance - and now they're also preparing to welcome a new addition to the family.
Newton-John tells Woman's Day magazine, "(James) is wonderful and I'm thrilled and excited for Chloe. It's a wonderful time and I look forward to lots of babies.
"I wish Chloe the love and happiness that I've experienced marrying my gorgeous husband (John Easterling). She has grown because of James' love for her."
Besides the fact that her native land is now in the world’s spotlight, Olivia Newton-John also had a secret reason to celebrate when she appeared at the event’s opening ceremony -- she secretly got engaged.
John, 52, has been dating cameraman Patrick McDermott, 44, for the past four years, and he unexpectedly asked her to marry him as she was preparing to leave for Australia. So far, she has only shown her closest friends the three-carat diamond-and-platinum ring that McDermott gave her. She's tentatively planning to marry him next summer.
Olivia and her first husband, Matt Lattanzi, divorced in 1996 after 11 years. They have a daughter, Chloe, 14.
