British punk rockers Fat White Family have pulled out of a European tour with the Black Lips to allow singer Lias Saoudi time to recover from an illness. The group had to axe a gig in Paris, France with the Veni Vidi Vici hitmakers last week (27May14) after Saoudi was struck down with the mystery ailment, and the rockers have now had to cancel the rest of their supporting slots with the Lips.
A recent post on the band's Twitter.com page reads: "Lias needs some time off to recuperate so we are forced to cancel next week's shows with the Black Lips."
The Black Lips are due to perform in Belgium on Tuesday (03Jun14) before heading to London for two gigs on Wednesday (04Jun14) and Thursday (05Jun14).
Miley Cyrus is courting more controversy from her sick bed by showing off her latest raunchy music video.
The We Can't Stop hitmaker is currently recovering from a severe allergic reaction to medication she was taking for a sinus infection, and she has been forced to cancel a host of concerts on her Bangerz world tour in the U.S. and Europe.
However, on Thursday (01May14) the pop star showed she is determined to stay in the headlines by uploading her latest music video to her YouTube.com account. The promo features the singer naked except for a pair of black latex underwear with her nipples covered by strips of black tape.
The bondage-themed clip for her track Tongue Tied shows Cyrus blindfolded by strips of latex as she provocatively licks her lips and slathers her body with black paint. Cyrus plans to resume her world tour with a show at London's O2 Arena on 6 May (14).
Miley Cyrus has a new tattoo - on the inside of her lower lip. The pop star posted photos of her new crying cat ink on Instagram, pulling down her lip to show off the yellow and black tattoo.
The Wrecking Ball singer added the caption "sad kitty".
Cyrus hasn't confirmed if the tattoo is permanent or not, but her pal Katy Weaver seems to suggest it is, adding, "We got tattoos on our lips... What the f**k?"
The singer has skin art all over her body; the images include a portrait of her grandmother, the words 'Just breathe', and a peace sign.
Last year (Sep13), she had Rolling Stone magazine's logo tattooed on the soles of her feet.
Miley Cyrus has been pictured rolling what appears to be a marijuana joint. The Wrecking Ball hitmaker can be seen in a photograph, posted by a male friend on his Instagram.com page, putting a suspicious-looking substance into cigarette paper while in a recording studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The pal wrote in the caption, "Yup...... Recordin (sic) with Miley... High as f**k..."
Cyrus hit headlines last year (13) by sparking up a joint on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam, Holland, where marijuana is legal.
While in Tulsa, the singer also added a lip tattoo to her collection of body art. She showed off her latest inking in a picture posted on her Instagram.com page on Friday (14Mar14). The image shows the pop star pulling down her lip to reveal a yellow and black cat, which she dubbed "sad kitty".
Her friend - who accompanied her to the tattoo parlour - also wrote on her own page, "We got tattoos on our lips... What the f**k."
"(But I'm a Cheerleader co-star) Clea DuVall is probably my favourite just because she was the first and we're still so close - she's got those great lips. I'm having a really nice time with (Orange is the New Black actress) Yael Stone though, who's got a great mouth, too. I've had some hot mouths in my time." Orange Is The New Black star Natasha Lyonne on her favourite female on-screen kisses.
Black Lips guitarist Cole Alexander took to the stage at a concert in New York on Tuesday (19Nov13) to pay tribute to two members of The Yellow Dogs, who were murdered earlier this month (Nov13). Guitarist Soroush Farazmand and his brother, drummer Arash, were killed in a shootout at the Brooklyn home they shared with a third victim last week (11Nov13). Suspect Raefe Ahkbar opened fire before turning his gun on himself.
Alexander met the band members after watching a documentary about their back story.
He tells NME.com, "What's so tragic is that they came to America to be safe. For them to be murdered - in Brooklyn of all places - is just beyond comprehension. I commend that band so much - they put themselves on the line for rock n' roll, they were incredibly brave kids, and their deaths are just totally tragic. I wish more bands were as brave as The Yellow Dogs."
Nada Surf, Kyp Malone of TV On The Radio and Luke Temple of Here We Go Magic also performed at the tribute concert on Monday night (18Nov13).
The Yellow Dogs formed in 2006 and moved from Tehran, Iran to Brooklyn, New York in 2010. Siavash Karampour and Koory Mirzeai are the only two surviving members of the group.
Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has defended the raunchy outfit she wore at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Amsterdam, Holland on Sunday (10Nov13), insisting she did not reveal her genitals. The Work hitmaker made headlines after she was snapped adjusting her skimpy beige thong under a revealing black evening gown, however, the star insists she did not flash too much flesh on the red carpet.
Azalea took to Twitter.com to defend her choice of outfit and clear up any confusion about her clothing mishap, writing, "That's my a** from the front not my p***y!!!! Bahahaha (sic)! I glued my panties to my p***y before I went out I'm not that stupid."
The rapper also added the revealing snap to her Instagram.com page in a bid to prove she had not suffered an embarrassing slip-up.
In a caption posted alongside the picture, she writes, "If you think this involves my vag (vagina) lips your (you are) mistaken. And yeah I'm posting it just to let you know I don't give a f**k about a bikini line and the line that joins my a** to my leg. Enjoy."
Parks and Recreation has settled back into its familiar groove, with Leslie's (Amy Poehler) struggle to keep her council seat serving as a nice framing device that informs the stories around the office. But no real forward momentum is achieved, primarily because the petty Councilman Jamm (Jon Glaser) ties her up in an obviously manufactured trial about an inappropriate tweet sent from the Parks Dept. Twitter.
For all the talk, we never get to see the offending picture... but it's not a full-on Anthony Weiner, just a racy snapshot of a pair of lips and an eggplant and the caption "See you tonight. Hope you like tongue baths, you big nasty fireman," which, as far as inappropriate tweets go, seems pretty tame. However, it didn't stop Leslie from being railroaded at every opportunity for her negligence by Jamm. Surprisingly, we get Donna (Retta) in a main plot this week, as she proved to be the offending tweet-er, and the trial uncovers some rude things she wrote about Leslie on her personal page. However, for some reason, the conflict between Leslie and Donna clears up through Chris (Rob Lowe), not via a confrontation between Leslie Donna. It would have been nice to see a little bit more of Leslie and Donna alone, since the season (and the show) has been a little Donna-starved, and Donna's frustration at Leslie being "annoying" was solved a bit too simply.
It also continues its parade of guest stars, with the appearance of Tatiana Maslany as Nadia, a doctor from Indianapolis looking to book a park with Tom (Aziz Ansari) and April (Aubrey Plaza). You'd think Tom would have more game after dating Jama Williamson, Natalie Morales, Rashida Jones, and even Jenny Slate as the crazy Mona-Lisa. But, instead, at the sight of Maslany he panics and immediately begins faking a British accent. Maslany is of course best known for her lingual flexibility on Orphan Black, so to see her baffled by Tom's attempt at being dapper (and then, of course, being forced to drop it) feels like a nice reference to that show while still grounding it in character. From there, Tom attempts bribery, stalling, and eventually, outright lying in hopes of charming Nadia, but in the end what wins her over is April's blunt assessment of why she should give him a chance: "You're way out of his league. There's literally no risk for you at all."
The ensemble feels a little light this week, but that may just be due to the lack of Ann and Andy, as almost every other character appears and had something to do. Ron (Nick Offerman) and Ben (Adam Scott) tackle the thrilling subject of estate planning, as we find out that Ron's will is a single sentance he wrote when he was eight (of course it is) and he now has an outrageous amount of money (of course he does). Eventually, Ben must convince Ron to file a real will in order to protect his children. While Ron's reluctant transformation into a family man is sweet, it's also becoming somewhat one-note already, and could be time to switch it up for the character. But if they keep adding great bits like the ongoing accountant/lawyer rivalry between Ben and his attorney, I'll still be laughing. Who knew lawyers hated puns so much?
Questions, Comments, and Concerns:-Ron, on making his first joke: "I don't care for it."-Tom's burgundy suit was pretty fly. Looks like now that Rent-A-Swag is defunct he's got all of those clothes to himself again. -The Anti-Leslie "Committee to Recall Leslie Knope" farting Knope dolls is kind of lame for a show that's this funny.-Leslie's idea to add question mark stickers to "Recall Knope" signs backfires when April gets ahold of them, making every sign around the town read like a hypothetical. Also great: she creates a question mark plastered fascinator in the shape of an exploding firework. -#BitchBoss is obviously an insult, while #BossBitch is a total compliment. #PsychoBoss probably most accurately describes Leslie.-Ron is confident that he will not die at the hand of an accountant, lawyer, or wild boar.-DJ Roomba lives!

Now this teaser is such a tease that we don't even know what it's teasing! Sounds just like J.J. Abrams, right? The Star Trek and soon to be Star Wars director released the above video, simply titled "Stranger" earlier today on the official Bad Robot YouTube channel. The black-and-white clip shows a man falling into the crashing surf while portentous narration says, "He arrived knowing nothing of himself. Who is he? Soon he will know. Because what begins at the water shall end there. And what ends there shall once more begin. This is what happens when we become lost...and banished...and are erased...and reborn."
So, yeah, a lot of pseudo-profound blather. But as transparently manipulative as this clip is, our response is probably exactly what he wants: sure, J.J., we’ll play. Here are five theories as to what gestating project this could be a trailer for, and, oh, rest assured, both Star Trek and Star Wars will be among them.
1. It’s a Tease for Abrams’ novel with Doug Dorst called S. , out Oct. 29.
Publisher Mulholland Books lists this as the official description: “At the core of this multilayered literary puzzle of love and adventure is a book of mysterious provenance. In the margins, another tale unfolds—through the hand-scribbled notes, questions, and confrontations of two readers. Between the pages, online, and in the real world, you’ll find evidence of their interaction, ephemera that bring this tale vividly to life.”
All of which is to say that S. is a multimedia experience more than it is a stand-alone novel. It also sounds strange. Or shall we say, stranger. We’re so focused on the idea of “stranger” as a noun because of that mysterious surf-tossed figure that we forget it might be used here as a comparative adjective instead. That doesn’t mean that the figure in question is unimportant. The clip even ends with the text “Soon he will know,” but I don’t think this person is necessarily a “stranger.”
2. It’s a Promo for Believe, the NBC Drama He’s Developed with Alfonso Cuaron for Midseason 2014 — The rather trippy premise of the series is that a girl with supernatural powers is raised under the protection of a mystical group called the “True Believers” and they even bust a death row inmate out of prison to serve as her guardian. Maybe this is right after he’s been freed?
3. It’s Our First Glimpse of Star Wars Episode VII! — Okay, the fact that the video obviously features some of Michael Giacchino’s trademark piano chords should dispel this notion, since John Williams is attached to score Episode VII. But what if this really is our first live-action glimpse of that Galaxy Far, Far Away since Revenge of the Sith? Maybe the dude with his mouth sewn shut is some freaky new Dark Side warrior and the castaway stumbling in the surf is a Jedi exile trying to find himself. Ooh, or maybe the surf dude is a survivor of the Second Death Star’s explosion who finds himself having crash landed by one of the Forest Moon of Endor’s seas and now he’s menaced by a really scary member of those forest-dwelling witches from those ‘80s Ewoks movies!
4. It’s a Tease for the Next Star Trek Movie (Or at least an Into Darkness DVD feature) — Maybe after Khan was put back into cryofreeze at the end of Into Darkness he and his crew were launched back into space only to crash into the ocean of some alien world, and this is him moments after finally reaching shore. The sewn-lips people will be his new followers who he’ll lead into battle as the ultimate weapon of revenge against Kirk.
5. J.J. Abrams Has Finally Decided to Adapt Albert Camus’ L’Etranger, a.k.a. The Stranger — The French existentialist’s novel about a man who’s convicted and sent to the guillotine for shooting an Arab not because of the evidence but because he didn’t properly mourn his mother’s death seems ripe for a J.J. Abrams adaptation. It’s about a man tossed about by fate and other absurdist forces beyond his control, who’s also capable of great violence, much like the characters on Lost. And like in this clip, the pivotal moment in The Stranger occurs on a seashore. Indian Naveen Andrews played an Arab on Lost, he can here too! It all makes…oh, who are we kidding. J.J.’s probably never even heard of Albert Camus.
Or it’s a tease for our long-awaited Jacob origin story Lost spin-off series! Just what all of us are dying to see.

Ooh la la. It looks like Selena Gomez is bringing the sultry to the City of Lights. The pop starlet's new Parisian "Slow Down" music video leaked on Friday (and is currently unembeddable, so here's the link), showing the world that this Disney princess is all grown up (you know, in case Spring Breakers and "Come & Get It" weren't convincing enough).
Opening with a shot of the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe, "Slow Down" brings new meaning to the phrase "Midnight in Paris." As she sings in the backseat of a black car driving through the city, Gomez showcases a vampy, seductive style with her bustier top and red lips. The glamor of the town car is intercut with footage of the singer in a tight midriff top, dancing the night away in a club as she expresses her desire to "party all night in the neon lights."
Then, we can't forget the clips of Gomez strutting down a dark, nondescript Parisian street (seriously, could they have utilized this beautiful city any less?) in her raciest ensemble yet: a dark jacket and short shorts combo, complete with plunging neckline and full leg exposure.
With lyrics like, "I just want to feel your body right next to mine, all night long," the sexy "Slow Down" video is pretty fitting. While we're looking forward to seeing it in higher quality, we can't help but already compare it to better Paris-set videos, like Taylor Swift's "Begin Again" ... or even the trailer for Smurfs 2 for goodness' sakes. Also, is that footage of a fancy car speeding through Parisian tunnels supposed to be eerily reminiscent of Princess Diana's death? It sure seems to be...
"Slow Down" is set to officially premiere next week, so for now, we'll have to keep ourselves entertained with this pixelated leak.
