Dunham says, "It's very hard for me to describe what it was like to be friends with Nora because there were so many beautiful facets to the experience and I'm so grateful to have had her in my life for the brief time that I did.
"Her generosity with other women, with younger artists was completely unparalleled and she had a way of bringing everyone comfortably into her orbit and providing them with fuel that would take them through life, so I know I'm not alone and I know this dedication stands for a lot of women's feelings about Nora."
Dunham also credits Ephron for helping her find love with fun. star Jack Antonoff.
She continues, "She said to me, 'Once you are fully who you're going to be, you need to find someone who accepts and understands that rather than trying to wedge yourself into the kind of girlfriend who this person wants...', and shortly before Nora passed away I met Jack, and I often wish they could meet each other and I could say, 'Look... I did it'."

She tells People magazine, "We were shooting the Girls pilot, and I was like, 'I'm going to Hollywood, what am I gonna do?' So I forced myself to attempt to rejigger (sic) my body. I couldn't even do it. I ended up hospitalized for drinking too much laxative tea and not taking care of myself."
Dunham, who is dating fun. rocker Jack Antonoff, has since embraced her larger figure and takes pride in proving to female fans they don't need to be skinny to succeed in life. She says, "Recently I was around a lot of very thin women with a young girl, 16 or 17. She looked shaken up, and she said, 'I thought I was pretty, but I guess I'm not'. I was like, 'Look at me. I have a great job, I own an apartment, I go out with a guy in a rock band! Who woulda (sic) thought? And I'm totally chubby!' It was the most fun I've ever had."
"My boyfriend would murder me if I told you them. I can tell you he says Ophelia sounds like a horror movie. I said it is a horror movie, it's Hamlet - but Fifi would be so cute! Rocker Jack Antonoff has risked the wrath of Michael Jackson fans by insisting singer Taylor Swift is the "closest thing today" to the King of Pop.
The fun. rocker is adamant Swift is a better songwriter and more likely to be a longtime success than her pop contemporaries Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, whose music he brands "throwaway".
Antonoff, who wrote 2013 track Sweeter Than Fiction with Swift, tells GQ magazine, "I think Taylor Swift is one of the best songwriters ever. Taylor Swift is cool, because she's the closest thing today that hearkens to Michael Jackson - to great, great pop music. There's a difference between her and Gaga and Katy Perry and Lily Allen and all that. It all feels throwaway, comparatively."

"It was just something that came out in a scratch vocal take off the top of my head and I didn't realise how important it was in that moment. That line speaks to my entire life over the past 14 years of writing and being on tour. I do feel like I'm constantly mourning a childhood I never had. Mostly because I dealt with a lot of loss in the most formative years of my life. That ties into a lot of the lyrics on the album."
