Former tennis ace Lindsay Davenport is a mum again - the retired sportswoman gave birth to her fourth child on Monday (06Jan14). Davenport has announced the happy news on Twitter.com, stating she's "thrilled" to have a new baby.
The court star and her husband Jonathan Leach have named their daughter Haven Michelle Leach.
Their other children are Kaya Emory, two, Lauren, four, and big brother Jagger Jonathan, six.
Former basketball star Dennis Rodman channelled the spirit of Marilyn Monroe by singing a breathless version of Happy Birthday to North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un on Wednesday (08Jan14). The retired sports ace struck up a bizarre friendship with the controversial dictator during a visit to the country last year (13) and he was back in the Asian nation this week (beg06Jan14) as part of his ongoing project to promote basketball among schoolchildren.
He took to an indoor court in the capital Pyongyang with fellow former professionals including Vin Baker, Kenny Anderson, and Charles D. Smith for a profile-raising game in front of local dignitaries on Wednesday, and before the event began, Rodman had a special gift for Jong-Un.
He stood in front of a microphone and sang one verse of Happy Birthday, imitating the infamous vocal delivery of Monroe when she performed the same stunt for U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
As Rodman sang, Jong-Un was seen smiling before applauding the sportsman's efforts.
However, not everyone was impressed with the performance - after the game ended, Rodman's pal Smith told reporters, "We always tell Dennis that he can't sing. He is tone deaf."
KISS frontman Paul Stanley has wrecked fans' dreams of watching the original members of the group performing together when they are inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in April (14), insisting a reunion "seems unlikely". The colourful rockers will join Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and Nirvana, among others, in the museum's class of 2014 and Stanley insists they will perform at the ceremony - but it won't be an original line-up reunion.
The singer made his feelings clear after a fan asked him about the possibility of including Ace Frehley and Peter Criss in his and bassist Gene Simmons Hall of Fame plans.
Stanley initially wrote, "No way", and then added, "Seems unlikely".
And that paves the way for another Hall of Fame feud - because guitarist Frehley is keen to perform and replace current KISS star Tommy Thayer onstage.
Frehley has said, "You can't have me and Tommy both in makeup... I don't have a problem with Tommy and (current drummer) Eric (Singer) being there out of make-up if I'm in make-up, because they're a big part of KISS today. (But) they had nothing to do with the beginning of KISS, or the designs or the costumes or the make-up... This is about the celebration of KISS and how it all began and started, and it should be honouring the four original members."
Mean Girls star Lacey Chabert has joined the 2014 newlyweds club after exchanging vows with her longtime boyfriend over the holidays. The actress announced the happy news in a tweet on Friday (04Jan14).
Chabert wrote, "I'm starting off 2014 as a Mrs! Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life... we became husband & wife!"
The actress' wedding guests included another newlywed, Kaley Cuoco, who married tennis ace Ryan Sweeting on New Year's Eve (31Dec13).
Chabert's Christmas and New Year's celebrations were marred by the death of her grandfather.
In a tweet on 28 December (13), she wrote, "What a week. Happiest & saddest of times. Ups & downs of life & mysterious way in which they always seem to collide will forever puzzle me."
And she later thanked fans for their kind words as she mourned the loss of her elderly relative, adding, "Thank you all so much for the sweet, comforting messages about my grandfather's passing. Your kindness touches my heart so very much."
Jessica Simpson has confirmed she will become Mrs. Eric Johnson in 2014, insisting "it's about time" she walked down the aisle again. The singer-turned-fashion mogul became engaged to former American football player Johnson in November, 2010, but she had to scrap two planned wedding dates after falling pregnant with son Ace less than five months after giving birth to her first child, daughter Maxwell, in May, 2012.
However, the new mum, who welcomed her little boy in June (13), has now confirmed she will tie the knot with Johnson this year (14) - and she cannot wait to wow her friends and family with her post-pregnancy weight loss.
In a new video advertisement for healthy eating firm Weight Watchers, the firm's spokesmodel says, "The new year will definitely bring on the wedding bells, which is exciting... I think it's about time.
"Knowing that I have the wedding coming up is an incentive to stay on Weight Watchers, count my points and stay in the gym. I mean, when you see my dress, you'll know."
And Simpson admits she is still working on building up her self-confidence, despite already stunning fans with her slim physique in recent weeks.
She adds, "I'm just trying to feel good in a pair of jeans and T-shirt. I can't wait to be able to feel just comfortable in my skin and know that I'm back to the person I've been before. I know this time I'm going to be so much stronger and so much more empowered, because I really earned it and I really got here, and took the steps to get here."
Simpson has declined to reveal a date and venue for her upcoming nuptials, but reports previously suggested she will wed Johnson in May (14) in Capri, Italy, where the blonde beauty spent her 30th birthday in 2010.
It will be her second marriage - she divorced singer Nick Lachey in 2006, while Johnson split from his ex-wife, stylist Keri Johnson, in May, 2010, after five years together.
Top golfer Rory Mcilroy rang in the new year with a fiancee after proposing to his tennis star girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki. The couple took to its Twitter.com accounts on New Year's Eve (31Dec13) to announce the happy news.

He added a photo of the tennis ace's hand sporting a huge diamond ring.
Wozniacki also hit Twitter and wrote, "Rory and I started 2014 with a bang!...I said YES!!!!"
Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher is to remain in an artificially-induced coma as doctors fight to save his life following a skiing accident. The retired racing driver fell and hit his head during a family skiing trip in Meribel, France on Sunday (29Dec13) and he is currently in a critical condition at The Grenoble University Hospital Center.
Schumacher's doctors addressed the media on Monday morning (30Dec13) to give an update on the sportsman's condition, revealing the accident was "particularly serious" and he suffered bruising to the brain, a blood clot and significant swelling.
Professor Jean-Francois Payen explained that Schumacher underwent an operation to treat the clot and relive pressure, and he will now remain in an artificially-induced coma.
Payen said, "This accident was particularly serious... he was operated on immediately after a brain scan. For the moment we are not able to express ourselves as to Michael Schumacher's future. He has been induced into an artificial coma... he is having treatment to limit cerebral haematoma... The situation is considered to be critical... we are working hour by hour. His condition is considered to be extremely serious... It's far too early to be able to say anything as far as prognosis is concerned...The family is at his bedside."
Payen also dismissed media reports suggesting Schumacher underwent a second operation since his admission to the hospital, and insisted the helmet he was wearing saved his life.
A number of stars from the world of sport have since taken to Twitter.com to express their shock following the accident, including Schumacher's former Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa, fellow Formula 1 ace Jenson Button, racing driver Dario Franchitti, boxer Joe Calzaghe, and British soccer stars Gary Lineker and Michael Owen.

They splurged on bottles of Ace of Spades bubbly and D'usse cognac, which Jay Z promotes, and shared out the alcohol with the entire VIP section, according to TMZ.com.

Samuel L. Jackson, Jack Nicholson, Snoop Dogg, will.i.am and comedian Kevin Hart were among the stars who spent part of their Christmas Day (25Dec13) courtside at the Los Angeles Lakers' home game against the Miami Heat basketball team at the Staples Center. Actress Gabrielle Union was also in the stands to cheer on her new fiance, Heat ace Dwyane Wade, as his team went on to win 101 to 95.
Actress Gabrielle Union has double the reason to celebrate the holidays - she is engaged to her basketball star beau Dwyane Wade. Christmas came early for the Bring It On beauty after Miami Heat ace Wade popped the question.
Union, 41, broke the news to fans on Saturday (21Dec13), when she uploaded a photo of the massive diamond ring on her Instagram.com page, alongside the caption, "Sooooo this happened... Yessss (sic) @dwyanewade".
The couple has been dating since 2007.
It will be the second marriage for both stars. Union was previously wed to retired American football player Chris Howard, but they divorced in 2006 after five years as husband and wife, while Wade, 31, married his childhood sweetheart, Siohvaughn Funches, in 2002. They split in 2007, but their divorce turned nasty and it wasn't finalised until 2010. Wade was awarded sole custody of their two young sons in 2011.
