"I had a big lesbo crush on her and I named my dog after her... It was my crush for her that kind of put me over the top, if you will. I told her and she wasn't freaked out by the lesbo crush thing; she embraced it and thought it was really cute." Actress Jane Lynch realised she was a lesbian after falling in love with Olivia Newton-John, and was thrilled when she got to work with her idol on Glee.

Promoting his upcoming release, The Diving Board, during a concert at the University of Southern California on Monday (16Sep13), the Rocket Man told students that Hayes had covered the title track.
He said, "He played all the instruments and he blew my mind."
During his set at USC, Elton performed with the USC Thornton School of Music Orchestra conducted by film composer James Newton Howard and he also played five songs from The Diving Board with a student choir and brass ensemble.
Tracks performed included Philadelphia Freedom, Tiny Dancer, Levon, Your Song, Bennie and the Jets, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues and Rocket Man.
Ageing pop star Sir Cliff Richard has urged the likes of Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna to study Olivia Newton-John in her heyday for tips on how to appear sensual and sexy without taking their clothes off. Like many, the Christian singer was stunned by images of 20-year-old Cyrus stripped down and gyrating suggestively at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (Aug13), minutes after Lady Gaga had exposed her bottom in a barely-there thong bikini, and he feels both pop stars and their provocative peers need to take a lesson in subtlety from his old pal.
In an exclusive interview with Phillip Silverstone on 860AM WWDB Radio Philadelphia Talk Radio, The Devil Woman hitmaker says, "If somebody asks me about some of the female performers, who shall remain nameless, I say, 'I find that sometimes you can be sexual but I am far more impressed by someone who is sensual'.
"There's a way of being sensual, which is part of life, and then there's the stripping off thing and letting your boobs hang out... It doesn't do anything to me. The sensuality is what is the turn on. Olivia with all her clothes on is far more sexy than most women, because she's beautiful."
Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi blames growing up in the spotlight for her spiral into booze and drug addition. The Grease star's daughter with actor Matt Lattanzi admits she fell into a bad crowd after struggling to cope with being the offspring of a famous couple, and quickly became hooked on cocaine.
In an interview with Australian magazine Women's Day, she says, "Growing up I was under immense pressure being the daughter of such a famous woman.
"You don't have a normal childhood and you don't have that space to make mistakes and find your feet, as everyone is watching you.
"I started to get into the party scene, drinking every night, and then before long I got introduced to cocaine and all of a sudden, the combination of those things took away all the fear and depression and that is when the cycle began."
Lattanzi has been in a rehab centre for the last seven months and now she's adamant she has finally overcome her demons at the age of 27.
She adds, "I honestly felt that for the first time in my life there was hope. I am really proud of how far I've come and so are all my family..."

Singer/actress Olivia Newton-John has been left "in shock" after learning of the death of a man at her home in Florida on Monday (19Aug13). The body of the unidentified man was discovered at the residence the Grease star shares with her husband John Easterling.
It is believed the 42 year old shot himself, and the couple has released a statement to Entertainment Tonight expressing their disbelief.
The message reads, "Olivia and her husband John are in shock over the tragic event that occurred at their Florida home yesterday. At this time we are awaiting additional information from investigators but can confirm that the couple was not in Florida at the time and, the deceased was not a family member."
According to local news reports, the man was a contractor working on the Xanadu singer's house.
Police have opened an investigation into the death.
A man has shot himself at the Florida home of singer/actress Olivia Newton-John, according to U.S. reports. Police were called to the Grease star's residence after it was reported that a man had killed himself with a gun.
According to Sergeant Scott Pascarella, the spokesman for the Jupiter Police Department, the deceased man is not related to John or her husband John Easterling, and does not live in the home.
The couple was not home at the time of the tragedy, but there were building contractors on site.
Earlier this month (Aug13), it was reported that the house was for sale and comedienne Rosie O'Donnell was hoping to buy it.
Look who's getting back together — Kirstie Alley and John Travolta! The two will be seen together again on Alley's new TV Land show Kirstie.
The show will premiere at the end of this year and will center on Madison Banks (Alley), a Broadway star. Banks' life takes a turn when the son she gave up at birth shows up unexpectedly. Travolta will guest star as a stagehand on Banks' Broadway show. They have a one-night stand, but Travolta's character wants more. Based on how she gave up her son, though, Banks is clearly not one for commitment.
In a TV Land press release, Travolta expressed his enthusiasm for his reunion with Alley. "I'm excited about working with Kirstie again, in addition to such terrific talent on the show," he said. "It's always a treat to be surrounded by people you respect so much both personally and professionally."
Alley also showed her excitement, tweeting, "John Travolta is gonna be on our new show KIRSTIE!!!!!! SOOO excited to work together again!!! We are gonna have a BALL!! @tvland !!"
And, as if one reunion wasn't enough, Alley's Cheers costar Rhea Perlman will be joining her on Kirstie. Perlman will play Banks' assistant and best friend.
Kirstie premieres on Wednesday, Dec. 4 on TV Land.
