The fundraising mission will help those left injured and homeless following last week's (12Jan10) massive quake.
The project will be filmed in a similar way to Passing Strange, the musical Lee shot on Broadway and released earlier this year (09) - and follows Lee's documentaries about basketball stars Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

The star tells GQ magazine, "My stand-up is nothing like the TV show. My sense of humour is a turkey, and I pull it out of the oven and baste it in reality."
And he insists it's for adults only: "I talk a lot about sex, because I'm good at it."

Elizabeth Taylor has declined an invite to speak at pal Michael Jackson's memorial on Tuesday because she doesn't want to be a part of the "whoopla" surrounding the event.
The 77-year-old movie star was rumored to be attending the tribute with Barry Manilow, but she reveals she won't be going to the Staples Center event in Los Angeles.
In a message to fans via Twitter, the actress writes, "I've been asked to speak at the Staples Center. I cannot be part of the public whoopla. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word.
"I just don't believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event. I said I wouldn't go to the Staples Center, and I certainly don't want to become a part of it. I love him too much."
Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Lionel Richie and Jackson's former "girlfriend" Brooke Shields have been confirmed as participants in Tuesday's memorial.
The Staples Center tribute will also feature performances and speeches from basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson, Motown founder Berry Gordy, Martin Luther King III, John Mayer, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.

TV stunt man Bam Margera's uncle Don Vito has been told he must check in with a Colorado court twice a week and stay away from kids as he awaits a sexual assault hearing.
The chubby prankster, real name Vincent Margera, is charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child and faces trial at the end of October.
A Colorado judge ruled yesterday that Margera could leave the state and return home to Pennsylvania--as long as he adhered to conditions set by his bail.
Margera, a regular on his nephew's wacky Viva La Bam TV show, posted $50,000 bail and must be supervised during his release, during which he needs to check in with pretrial services officers twice a week.
He is not allowed to have any contact with children younger than 18, cannot consume any drugs or alcohol and will be subject to random urine tests.
Margera, 50, was arrested earlier this month after allegedly inappropriately fondling two underage girls during two separate incidents at a signing event at a skate park in Colorado.
He has hired attorney Pamela Mackey, who represented Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant in his 2004 sexual assault case in Colorado.

Controversial basketball star Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa are expecting their second child in May. The couple already have three-year-old daughter Natalia.
A spokesperson for the couple says, "In addition to their excitement, Kobe and Vanessa have been sharing a lot of laughs because, after hitting game winning shots for the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe has been making late night food runs for his wife's pregnancy cravings only to get home with the food and find out that her craving has changed."

A Colorado judge has dismissed a civil lawsuit against basketball star Kobe Bryant, following his settlement with his rape accuser.
The Los Angeles Lakers player, 26, was accused of sexual assaulting a female hotel employee in a Colorado mountain resort during his vacation in June 2003.
The criminal rape trial of the NBA ace was thrown out of court last September after the alleged victim refused to testify.
On Thursday US District Judge Richard Matsch signed a one-sentence order in a Denver court ending the suit, just a day after Bryant's lawyers issued a statement declaring Bryant and the woman had "resolved (the matter) to the satisfaction of both parties".
Married Bryant admitted sexual relations with the woman, but claimed it was consensual.
