Rapper Teyana Taylor has found love with another basketball player after jetting to Hawaii with New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert to celebrate his birthday. The hip-hop star split from fiance Brandon Jennings of the Detroit Pistons last autumn (13) and now it appears she has moved on to date singer Elle Varner's ex, Shumpert.
Taylor had previously gushed about a mystery new man in her life, saying, "I'm so happy and the n**ger I'm with right now is making me feel so beautiful."
He has since been identified as Shumpert after the new couple was photographed kissing while relaxing on a beach in Maui, where the sportsman celebrated his 24th birthday on Wednesday (25Jun14).
Taylor has yet to comment on the budding relationship, but on Wednesday, she shared an Instagram.com snap of herself kissing the basketball star on a beach alongside the caption, "Happy Birthday baby.. #ILoveU".
Rihanna has become embroiled in a nasty online feud with rising singer Teyana Taylor. The two women began sniping at each other after Rihanna posted a video mocking the singer on her Instagram.com page.
Taylor recently uploaded a video of herself singing a cover of Anita Baker's Caught Up In The Rapture, and the Umbrella star countered by posting a clip of her male hairstylist, dressed in a wig, performing the same song badly.
The apparent jibe appeared to provoke Taylor, who subsequently sent Rihanna a barrage of angry messages via Twitter.com, writing, "Don't play wit (with) me Rihanna f**k all this industry s**t, you & I know each other very well. Throwing subs (hints) 4 wat (sic)? U (you) got my # (number), don't show off... Y'all could bully everybody else & get away wit (with) that s**t but that s**t ain't gone (sic) work ova (over) here... Petty is petty and shade is shade, b**ch knew what the f*ck she was doing."
Rihanna later changed her Twitter homepage to a shot of an article comparing her estimated $90 million (£60 million) fortune to Taylor's $500,000 (£333,333), and wrote, "I refuse to help your career... you will not get an @ (Twitter mention) from me! Not til you pay me. No more free promo. I refuse."
Both women later deleted their tweets and Rihanna changed her home screen page again. When a fan asked Taylor, "(Why) did you delete ur (your) tweets after cussing Rihanna out for deleting hers?" she replied, "Mom dukes (my mother) asked me to take em (sic) down, so I did. But I still mean every single word."
Singer/rapper Teyana Taylor has fired back at reports suggesting an Independence Day party she hosted in New York on Thursday (04Jul13) ended with gunfire blasts, insisting "nothing was shot up". The rising hip-hop star, who is signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, invited friends, family and fans to celebrate the American holiday at Morningside Park in her native Harlem, but sources tell the New York Post the barbecue bash quickly became an unruly scene.
According to the publication, police were called to control the crowds and a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody for shooting a gun into the air. One officer was also said to have sustained a shoulder injury in the midst of the drama.
However, Taylor took to her Twitter.com blog on Sunday (07Jul13) to blast the Post and dispute the story, and she is adamant the gunfire mentioned was in fact the sound of fireworks.
In a series of angry tweets, she wrote, "NY Post better get outta here wit (with) that dumb a** story. Nothing was shot up. It was 4th of July fire works will go off.
"Crazy how police & fire department Could NOT confirm anything that the NY POST said Wanna know why? Cause the s**t ain't (sic) true. Organization doesn't make a good story rite (sic)??? Lol (laugh out loud) they (sic) mad my cookout was so orderly. Why not add drama to sell a good story?"
She has also expressed her gratitude to her guests, adding: "Well with getting that off my chest i want to thank the 3500 people that came out! Everyone was well behaved & having a great time!"
